You can keep using Visual Composer – it’s not ‘gone.’
The TDComposer is a more lightweight, faster, more secure solution for those who only use the pagebuilder for home page, business info pages, etc. and don’t use it on posts, where there is already wide variety of custom post layouts.
For our sites, it’s a perfect fit, as we don’t custom build ‘posts,’ only ‘pages’ and so it’s much faster, and less prone to all the weird system issues we’ve had with VC.
Nothing to correct in the sense of “it’s bad….” — if you have found a bug and can identify how you experienced it, where and why, and what steps taken to debug that, they will definitely address it for the next update to TDC — which is still fairly young, and still being developed.
TDC is *not* a 1:1 replacement for VC. Two totally different things.
If you like VC, keep using it. If you don’t want to switch to TDC, you don’t have to.
I have the same problem.
I don’t know why a great theme than Newspaper changes the builder, but just for pages?
A great mistake…If WP has a based post, the focusing has mean to the posts, not pages.
If we install TD Composer the Posts broke. If we don’t use, we can’t edit the pages…
Please, correct this for all of us. The sidebar are essential for all.
Thanks!
Hi,
I have tried deactivating all my plugins except the ones provided by tagDiv but unfortunately, nothing happened.
I then tried accessing my site using Firefox / Safari and TD Composer worked fine.
I am still hoping to access my site using Google Chrome, and so I shall continue to search for a fix…
Hello Guys, also happened to me with the update. The Hompage gets an error. To workaround i needed to activated the tagDiv Composer. If deactivated the homepage gets an error message. I use only visual composer. So please help.
Here´s the screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/KD7oql1YqU

I have several websites with newspaper8 and I upgraded to 8.1 with no problems, but in one particular, I get this error at home after updating and the web does not load. What’s wrong?
array(7) { [“el_class”]=> string(0) “” [“el_id”]=> string(0) “” [“class”]=> string(28) “td_uid_16_598669dc7222f_rand” [“css”]=> string(0) “” [“tdc_css”]=> string(112) “eyJhbGwiOnsibWFyZ2luLXRvcCI6Ii0yNSIsImJvcmRlci1jb2xvciI6IiMwMDAwMDAiLCJiYWNrZ3JvdW5kLWNvbG9yIjoiIzAwMDAwMCJ9fQ==” [“tdc_css_class”]=> string(28) “td_uid_16_598669dc7222f_rand” [“full_width”]=> string(38) “stretch_row_content td-stretch-content” }
wp booster error:

/var/www/vhosts/revistaestrategia.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/tdc_composer_block.php > get_att
And also break other visual composer things!!!
All posts that use visual composer’s ‘tab’ are broken…
Hi
I have a big problem with the virtual composer. When editing for exampel a text-block in backend, when i click for the dropdown menu the change for exampel to H2, the menu seems to be placed behind the virtual composer edit window, so i cant change the text format. Send me a email to info@jpsolutions.se and i will send screenshot
Why would I need to have TagDiv composer instead of Visual Composer in order to change the titles of the categories that show? This doesn’t make sense to me. There’s no other way? I would rather use Visual Composer…
I installed tagdiv composer and the pages now resolve.
However, many of the elements I previously created with Visual Composer are either corrupt or don’t show at all, some images are now a completely different size too and throw the layout out. If I disable Visual Composer more elements just show lines of code instead of the intended design element. e.g.
[vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” color=”peacoc” alignment=”center” active_section=”1″ css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_tta_section title=”Overview” tab_id=”1491972503254-34a1c000-3dcd8379-50bf”]
How are we supposed to proceed when the site was originally made with Visual Composer and it is suggested we now switch to Tagdiv Composer?

Thanks but my front page goes offline when I switch off td composer. It says
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: tdc_state is not set.
/home/accrafashionwk/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’
/home/accrafashionwk/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_autoload_classes.php
Any solutions?
They can’t fix your content.
You can keep using Visual Composer — you don’t need to stop using it. TDC is optional, and is primarily for those starting with theme first time, or who only use it for stuff like home page and custom pages — not posts.
If you use to use TDC in place of VC, you will need to redo some stuff.
Or, just keep using VC.
This is very interesting information. This is exactly the issue I’ve been having with the Newspaper theme. Not happening on any of my other themes. I have version 6.7 on two different sites that continue to get hit. I actually sent a support ticket today about it, but have not heard back from the Newspaper support group. As you can see by the numerous support tickets in recent days, it’s not easy to upgrade to version 8 because of recent conflicts between Newspaper and Visual Composer. Newspaper wants you to start using TagDiv instead, but this forces you to rebuild all your pages.
Hi guys, your switch from vc to tagdiv is a big headache for me, i did not only use vc for my front page, i even used it for some core profiles, over 60 profiles. with an already saved template. for an event i have two months away. I have very little time to spend changing it, and first of all the tagdiv composer is not as simple to use, and i do understand its in its early staged.
But i will kindly ask if there is a way a team member or your organisation can fix my profiles for me, i dont even mind paying a little, but currently, my profile pages are messed up in arrangement. all linked from here http://www.accrafashionweek.org/2017designers at a point where clients are visiting.

Hi Chris, I update again to post erro if I disable td composer
With 8.1 you can continue to use Visual Composer if you wish; so keep using that, and do not activate TD Composer.
TDC doesn’t support posts; only pages.
My website: http://www.tutods.net
After update to 8.1 is required active tagdiv composer, if not active my homepage is appear with error.
Please help me :/
Hi.
If I update Newspaper to 8.1 and active tagdiv composer, my posts disformat and crash.
Anyway to fix?
My all posts are created in Visual Composer
Hello,
td composer is not working after updating to theme version 8.1 and also updating the td composer plugin.
I then deactivated td composer and installed visual composer. That totally broke the site.
I now have td composer activated, but can’t use it.
My site is http://carolinaepicurean.com
After updating to 8.1 I’m now seeing the following error, and my pages are not resolving correctly:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: tdc_state is not set.
/web/sites/steve83/cancuncare.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: 'file'
/web/sites/steve83/cancuncare.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_autoload_classes.php
I removed the wp bakery composer plug in and installed the same plug in but that provided with the theme – 5.2 (advised in a different support ticket) but am still seeing the issue.
Only using it for a couple pages. But I noticed some momentary goofy behavior in which all I got was a white screen whilst trying to edit those pages with TD Composer. A screen refresh did the trick though.
Yes, there is an oooold version of the theme which had a security issue, as did many themes; as did Visual Composer; as did WordPress core prior to 4.7; and that issue was fixed with very fast dot upgrade.
You need to review changelogs when new versions of any WordPress element is updated to ensure it’s been patched for any discovered security flaw.
Something like over 100,000 WordPress sites got hacked earlier this year for not updating WP core to new version with vulnerabilities patched. Also, old versions of PHP are no longer secure, either (e.g., 5.2 and 5.3 are end of life; 5.4 now end of life; 5.6 and up should be used).
Hello there,
after update newspaper from 8 to 8.1 the website is broken!!!!

Hi Simion,
After creating a page with Tagdiv composer, the loading time is extremely long. The website is fast but only the page I create are running very slowly
