Was finalizing my new site last night when suddenly the homepage went black. I turned off the Visual Compser plugin and the posts came back but the layout wasn’t right. Nothing worked so I deleted and reinstalled the Newspaper theme and started all over again… I’m about done and now the boxes in the Backend Editor are gone and all it is is text. HELP!!! 🙂 Thanks!! I have the same issue, probably due to custom post type.
For exemple I have the following error message with The Event Calendar Plugin.
After updating the vc_composer plugin to 4.2 I have created a page with “Block 22” then selected the custom type “tribe_events”.
Everything is ok with the page but when I click the url the open the related post, then I have before the post following error message :

This theme is really great and easy to use even if you don’t know nothing about code.
I have some questions.
– Visual composer doesn’t work on created post? Only for page? I want to use video on post (change size).
– I ve a lot english words to translate, they aren’t in newspaper panel. Where i have to go? -What is the more width size for picture in post? (without sidebar)
– For featured picture in post, I can’t have max width of template in 1900px x 700px? If use theses dimensions, i have bad result for blocks or mega menu.
– How can i remove youtube from social network on homepage ( i would like only facebook and twitter).

I bought the Newspaper theme, and with it came visual composer plugin and rev slider, but I want to activate them too, by buying the theme should I see a license of the plugins too or should I buy them to activate them?
How do I make it so that the top header isn’t covering the title of the sidebar? As you can see the “Must Read” title of my sidebar is being covered by the header I have when you begin to scroll down. I was able to change this on my front page using Visual Composer but am not sure how to do it for individual posts. I’ve attached an image link so you can see what I’m talking about.
Also are we able to use visual composer for individual posts? I only see the option to use it for pages.
You should delete your setting above immediately — never post logins/passwords here — it’s a public forum.
Note: you can find the visual composer plugin (js_conmposer.zip) in the ‘all files’ download from ThemeForest in the /plugins/ folder 🙂

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you very much Catalin! The solutions to #1 and #4 work flawlessly.
For #2: I am referring to the padding on the left and right side, not the top and bottom. No matter what options I use in Visual Composer it won’t stretch all the way.
For #3: The search icon is now hidden from my header. However I need to move the categories to the right to align with the rest of the content, instead of an empty space where the search icon was.

Visual composer will not help you in that I;m afraid. It can only be done by editing the post template files and using a do_shortcode function.
Here is an example of a block 1 added after the comments on posts:
For this I add this code:
echo do_shortcode('[td_block_1]');

The attachment page cannot be customized with visual composer. Sorry. It is created by wordpress for each image and we added just a slight touch to it to fit the theme layout. But you cannot change this page, sorry. The only setting the theme provides for it is the sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/ZeTBGWdAgo

Simply disabling the plugins for a brief moment will not do it. You have to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and purge cdn files. Then test again. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
