Hello,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. This could be a simple plugin conflict.

Thank you!

Hello,

You will have to disable the plugin and delete the files from the wp plugins section. Then install the new version as you would any plugin. Revolution slider as well as visual composer need this method of updating.
We created this guide for visual composer but the same method applies to rev slider: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thank you!

Hey Chris and Nairolf, Excuse me for not getting this correctly.
But what will happen if I used this code suggested by Alin in the speed booster files:

if(is_single()){
unset($this->style_footer_queue['js_composer_front']);
}

Will it load VC files only on Homepage, not on any other pages?
I do use VC on few other pages other than homepage should I use this code for speed optimization?

Thank you.

I have a few pages that have been built prior to using NewsMag, and when I edit them using Visual Composer I lose the Breadcrumgs, Page Title, and Side Bar.

Any thoughts?

I bought your “Newspaper” theme. I get a notification to activate my copy of Visual Composer. I followed it couple of times, but it shows an error “It seems that you do not have any valid license for Visual Composer….

Since I bought Newspaper theme, wouldn’t I already received a licensed copy of Visual Composer? How do I activate it?

Hello Gaurav,

Go to WP Dashboard- Left column panel- Click Visual Composer- Role Manager- Administrator- Post Type- Custom- Select – Post and Page both.
By default VC is enabled for pages only.

Hope it helps.

Pages is set by default. You may change the settings in the roles part of the Visual Composer settings.

Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=vc-roles

Change the pull down to custom

Check the box for posts

Hope this works for you.

After updating the theme and VC successfully, i have the following issue:

The sidebars on pages (note, it’s only on pages…posts and products are okay) are not appearing.

When i go to edit a page, on the section which allows you to choose the template layout for the page and to select the side bar, the following message is displayed:

“While using Visual Composer sidebar settings are not available. To add a sidebar on page use the widgetised sidebar block.”

Could you advise me about this please.

Thanks.

Alright, so I am trying to display posts like they are displayed on http://www.chicagomag.com/

They are separated by category, show one top image, and the rest are post titles.

How can I do this in the API or just on the TD composer?

Thanks. I found that there was a problem with visual composer, I haven’t installed the updated plugin.

But still have the problem with the “Hybrid menu on right with logo” option, I have pasted the code but the logo image is still too tiny .

I will really appreciate your time, to solve this problelm. Thanks.

Check system status panel in the theme control panel.

Make sure enough memory allocated to WordPress.

Consider simplifying number of modules used, types of queries, etc.

Consider turning some stuff off, like flyout “yuo might like,” “related posts” at bottom of pages, and use just ONE module/block type on sidebars; remove modules from footer, etc.

Make sure you’re using PHP 5.6x vs 5.4x, as 5.6x has opcache which helps.

If none of that does it — you can stop using pesky Visual Composer; and try the BETA TagDiv Composer (see sticky post top of forum) — which is simpler page builder and which we’re now using across our news network and no longer use VC for anything (as it is often the resource culprit every third version!).

Hello,

The theme does not add any numbers to the url’s. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test again.
If you still have trouble with this, try to switch to a wp default theme and see if the author url still gets the 2’s
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you!

I’m not sure reinstalling the theme will have any effect if the ad is not compatible. You can give it a try. Install the theme again, and do not use any other plugins except visual composer. And test the ads like that. If they work, then be careful of what plugins you activate. If it does not, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site, wp-admin and provide the ad code so we can run a few tests on your site. Please also include a link to this topic.
Thank you!

Hello rahulagg25,

I guess that you are referring to the following elements, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/eYe2lIRbs7v , right? So, if you want to remove all of these, please notice that these are just blocks and you can manage them from Visual Composer, when you edit your page, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/z5dOSSHBNM7e

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Poteris,

Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. Clear all your caches, remove server caches (if you do not have any access to do it, request this task to the service provider).

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello beserk77,

Indeed, the Ajax pagination is used only for pages in Blocks if you are using the Visual Composer. In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
I´m having some problems.
1. Revolution slider. When I try to add a new slider I have this: ‘Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 83 bytes) in /var/www/vhost/segoviaudaz.es/home/html/wp-includes/category.php on line 343’. And the same when I go to settings.
2. Visual Composer. It doesn´t let me to add any element.
Thank you

Hello ThePhotoConnection,

I guess that you want to achieve the similar layout with your above example, right? Please notice that our theme has a large list of blocks which are available in Visual Composer. Please check here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ because there you will find all our blocks which are presented in our demo. Also, for more information in this regard, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

1. The sticky logo is there now. Mobile and desktop

2. Please remove any custom css you may have affecting the logo and add this code instead:

.td-header-style-7 .td-header-sp-logo{
max-width: 278px!important;
}
.td-header-style-7 .td-header-menu-wrap-full{
height: 106px!important;;
}

3. For the slider issue, please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test the slider again. i sus pect some plugins are no longer compatible in the current version of the theme.

Thank you!

Hello davidrattray,

The Visual Composer is fully tested with the theme and seems to work as properly until now, without any issues. Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.5) and also, the latest version of required plugins which come bundled with theme packet. The MagicNumbers plugin is not tested with the theme and we have no idea about the theme behaviour with this type of plugin and also, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not with the theme, sorry! My recommendation is to disable all the untested plugins and install only ones which come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. For more information about how you can update the Visual Composer, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

Well if you did not add the code, maybe a plugin did. Please try to remove the code I provided and simply disable all plugins except visual composer,clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the email address again and see if it’s still transparent. Here is the reason why I said it was something you or a plugin added. All the css that comes from the theme will have style.css shown in the right of the code like so (using the chorme browser inspector): http://screencast.com/t/wn3GWX7vD That is a clear sign that the css comes from the theme. Now, other css rules that do not come from the theme, will not have the source as the theme;s style.css like the transparency rule that you have on your site. It is still there but it’s been re-writen by my code as you can see here: http://screencast.com/t/LLiFJ4kS

Thank you!

Hi tagdiv team,

I see that the theme has so many diverse features..you tried to add lot of accessory features too ..but i dont understand why you left the most basic thing to implement for the theme i.e. Ajax navigation for posts , tags ,categories pages…[i know abt the one thats in visual composer but visual composer is not used on each & every page like categories,tags pages ] Every time a visitor clicks on next page numbers, the whole content [css,js,etc..] gets loaded ..In Ajax just that part of the page is loaded rest of the stuff like sidebars,header,footer stays . I am sure i dont need to explain abt the benefits of using ajax.

I request you to implement this feature in next update.

Also Is there a way currently i can implement the ajax for the above type posts in the theme ?
