Usually this happens because of Photon module from Jetpack plugin. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test the site again.

I would definitely like to see this in a future release of NewsPaper. In fact it would be great to have the ability to different Visual Composer items below the selected category template.
Using BigGrid2 on the home page and suddenly it stopped working. http://patientworthy.com/ We’ve been using this for at least 6 months and haven’t had any issues. Also noticed today that Visual Composer wasn’t working so I downloaded it from the latest version of the Newspaper theme and re-uploaded it. Now it works but the grid still isn’t working properly. Recently upgraded WordPress to 4.5.2. Haven’t updated the Newspaper theme to 7.1.1. Tried to add another BigGrid in preview mode and it didn’t load properly either.
I posted earlier on this; no response yet. Visual Composer does not show the templates so I cannot use it. I finally gave up and purchased the newer version directly from Envato, installed it. Same problem. Either I am doing something very simple wrong or there is some other basic bug. Please help. Thank you.
Hi, I’m having the same issue on my website. Everything is updated via FTP to the latest version but I can’t see the visual composer editor to edit my home page blocks. Any updates on this?
I mean, can you have the revolution slider come in above the heading as in Style 2 or 5 and have it look like style 7 but with the functionality and look of Rev Slider? I cant get it above the headline of the article/post. I can do it on a default template page but the sidebar on the post page gets in the way. From Visual composer (I bought the pro version of that) you can drop a Rev Slider bar in the Backend Editor but it doesnt have any effect on the heading of the post page (or category page for that matter but this would be more difficult to edit I guess) and it slides in above the text, below the title of the post and beside the sidebar. Is there any way to change this?

I installed the “Tech News” demo.
There is a “star rating” to see under some posts. I installed the plugin “WP Review”, because I thought, it would be the one used on “Newspaper”.
But it doesn’t work. There is the star rating under my posts now, but in the blocks i created with visual composer, there are no stars to see.
How did you make it?

I have the same issue. Visual Composer doesn’t load. I just did the VC update from the theme as mentioned in your guide (now in 4.9 version) but it doesn’t doesn’t work.

Please keep in mind that the theme works as expected with the basic Visual Composer plugin and the latest version of it is 4.11.2. Please notice that the Addons are basically other plugins which are not tested with our theme. Please check our list of tested plugins here -> http://screencast.com/t/0Jryg6gK Please notice that as a plugin to work with the theme as expected, this will have to be adjusted (with hard coding) in order to achieve best results. As an instance, the theme was been adjusted and implemented with a lot of hard coding condition to work as properly with Visual Composer and please notice that’s why we cannot adjust every Visual Composer add-ons to work as properly with our theme.
Please keep in mind that we are a small team and we are working hard for improvements, support, bug fixes and not custom work, sorry!

Then why don’t you mention it in your advertising that your theme doesn’t work with your modified version of VC ?
It would be the minimum of transparency…
First, that you provide a modified version of Visual Composer. So it is not the full version
Second, that the majority of addons won’t work with this version and that you don’t provide any support for this.

Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Some of the plugins that worked in newspaper 6 could not work in newspaper 7. Let us know if you still have issues with this.

I have watched the video tutorial which you gave me. So, here is talking about the Front End Editor option. Unfortunately, our theme does not work fine with Frontend editor and our developers have decided to exclude it from the theme. You can enable the Visual Composer frontend editor by removing this code from theme’s functions – http://screencast.com/t/1N4LB7WhP2jR but unfortunately, will not work properly if you have tag div blocks on the page. Also, please keep in mind that our theme does not have such an option for landing page and it is not supported, sorry!

Before we check this, please update your plugin as this is a well known issue caused by the new version of wordpress and visual composer under 4.11. I would like to be able to have the Slider Revolution slide in the same space the featured image takes up in Style 3 or Style 7 of the Newspaper theme. Ive tried it with all styles and either the sidebar pushes the slider down under the title and into the 2/3 column, or it looks like an image in the post. I have purchased the pro version of Slider Revolution.
I would like it to be the heading for the post, also to have the post title, subtitle and featured image and I can manage all this from the Slider Revolution options screen. But I cant get the slider into the right place in the posts! I would also like to be able to do this for categories too but I guess that’s impossible? The visual composer is in the posts though so you should have a combination of slider and theme where the slider can be full width, and fit across the top of the post and underneath have the post look like style 1, 2 or 5 and have a sidebar all underneath the title slider. Ideally the post would look like Style 5 or 7 and the title would be included in the Slider Revolution and I can make the text the H1 inside the slider. I also need the featured image to work for thumbnails on the rest of the website and on social media.

Please ensure that you fully updated your theme to the latest version of it only via FTP because this is the surest method regarding the updating theme. Also, please make sure that you have updated the required plugins to the latest version of them (Visual COmposer->4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.0). Also, if your problem is still there, please try to make a new sub-domain and try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and check the results. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please notice that if you are using some untested plugins which could interfere with the theme and also could cause a lot of unknown issues, like this. Also, please ensure that you have fully updated your theme only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Am inspectat site-ul tau si am vazut ca imaginile nu sunt taiate corespunzator pentru bloc-ul 7 ce il folosesti in josul paginii (pentru telefoane). Dimensiunea la care sunt taiate imaginile sunt corecte (100*70 px) insa nu este corect systemul de cropare. Dupa cum se poate observa, tema noastra foloseste un sistem de cropare care taie imaginea de la centru spre top (from center to top cropping system) dar la tine se pare ca imaginea este decupata de la centru spre josul ei, ceea ce nu este corect. Suspectez aceasta problema ca provine din cauza plugin-urilor pe care le folosesti si nu sunt testate cu tema noastra. Am rugamintea sa dezinstalezi toate plugin-urile active, sa lasi doar Visual Composer activ, sa golesti toata memoria cache, fisierele CDN daca folosesti CDN system si apoi sa instalezi doar plugin-urile care vin la pachet cu tema noastra pentru a exclude conflictele care pot aparea in tema. Deasemenea, daca ai customizari suplimentare ce ar putea afecta acest aspect, te rog sa le stergi si sa testezi tema fara ele. Dupa cum se poate observa pe demo-ul nostru, pentru blocul 7 (ce foloseste modulul 6) imaginile caracteristice sunt taiate corect -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-7/ Incearca sa aduci tema la un stadiu cat mia initial si sa testezi cum functioneaza.
