Hi Alin,
Here’s an update. Again, I’m using iPhone 6+ and default Safari browser to view this. It’s the same phone I used with Newspaper 4 and there was no issue at all.
I’ve changed to using the main theme now and I suspect the culprit is the Big Grid 3 that was causing it. So I changed back to Big Grid 2 and the result is this.

The problem now are:
1) Header ad are still showing despite disabling it through theme panel and I’ve also added the code below under theme custom css.
@media (max-width: 1024px){
.td-header-sp-ads{
display: none !important;
2) Big Grid 2 STILL doesn’t fit on the mobile, just like your demo site as well.
3) Header logo background is now black instead of white. Previous Newspaper 4 was white.
4) Big Grid 2 repeated at the very bottom of the page, right before the footer section.
Can you guys recheck the mobile site part? I really didn’t know how to solve all this.
On version 4.X, when you select theme accent color, the categories tag on post page etc, the widget background text title, the related background text title has change to color you pick.
On version 6.X not done and the color is black (#222222)
there is any easy way to change it, or i have to change all, one by one, either through theme panel for categories, and through style.css for all others
Hi,
We haven’t updated to 6 yet and there doesn’t seem to be anything in the child theme’s functions that enqueues the css.
It looks as though the parent theme is loading it.
Can you tell me where it’s hardcoded in the parent theme so I can modify it manually until we can update?
Thanks

Thank you.
The only thing is what I don’t understand, if I use the speedbooster plugin (v4) of version 6.0 and comment out the return:
if (!in_array($active_plugin, $this->allowed_plugins)) {
define(‘TD_SPEED_BOOSTER_INCOMPATIBLE’ , $active_plugin);
//return;
}
}
js_composer.css and styles.css are moved to the footer.
But if I use speedbooster plugin (v4.1) of version 6.1 and I do the same then the js_composer.css and styles are moved to the footer.
I should aspect that this should work the same, but in this case v4.0 was doing a better job.
As he noted, not everything can be moved due to the imperfect programming of some plugins; so those “bad” plugins cannot be moved as they may break things.
CSS generally is loaded in the header – this is correct practice. JS is loaded in footer unless some plugins “require” it in header to even work.
That is the quandary that Radu describes which there is no simple solution for.
Upshot: the speed booster plugin can “help” move some things, but not all or stuff just won’t work — through no fault of the theme or the speed booster framework TagDiv have come up with.
Hi Radu,
On your demo website I see that you have the same problem: bbpress.css, js_composer.css, style.css are also in the head and not in de footer:
<link rel=’stylesheet’ id=’bbp-default-css’ href=’http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default/css/bbpress.css?ver=2.5.7-5693′ type=’text/css’ media=’screen’/>
<link rel=’stylesheet’ id=’js_composer_front-css’ href=’http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/css/js_composer.css?ver=4.5.2′ type=’text/css’ media=’all’/>
<link rel=’stylesheet’ id=’td-theme-css’ href=’http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/themes/011/style.css?ver=6.1d2′ type=’text/css’ media=’all’/>
Are you also using the wrong plugins or is something else not going ok.
This problem I didn’t have with version 6 after commenting the stuf you showed in the screencast.com
@Thomas Thank you with that CSS the featured image look so much nicer
And you don’t want to do CSS minification on the functions.php file … it’s not a CSS file.
CSS / style.css = styles for the HTML (fonts, colors, sizes, layouts for theme)
functions.php = code used to modify how WordPress works.

FYI
adding stuff to end of functions.php has nothing to do with the CSS.
You might try adding only the stuff you need from my suggestions functions; and make sure you copy/paste properly to not chop something off — also remember to turn off clear any caching when making changes to your CSS and other files so that any caching save new versions.
What you can do is only copy the stuff you may need to bottom of your functions.php file; such as the item for jpeg compression, the items to hide the ? query variables in the meta data …
I don’t think there is anything in my suggested items for functions.php which would impact your menus.
If you’re using Visual COmposer for posts, then you would not want to include that section from my suggested functions.php stuff.
In any case, it might be something else entirely per Emil’s post. The functions work fine for me on NP6.
I love Newsmag as it is; just would like some options to streamline code, which the LESS compile method will solve for many things, thankfully. However, a “style2.css” and “functions2.php” kind of thing with all the bbpress, woocommerce, and other such things removed, would be super duper cool. Being able to just rename the 2 files to make them the default to cut the bloat for pure magazine sites would be on my happy camper list 🙂
Oh, and option to have the categories print bottom of page with tags vs top of page, which seems to cause a problem with pesky Google News (they pick up the categories for some reason as part of headline sometimes when printed above the headline). I am either turning them off, or manually moving them in the template file — not big deal, but some folks will cry about having to touch the code, as you well know.
@gopal904 Yep, WP Rocket its F* OSOM!
@thomas Hello thomas, you must use spanish code. Because i use google translator to translate tutorial from spanish to english and some translated code lines are bad. :-(. Try this:
/* si usas jetpack, con esto eliminamos devicepx */
add_filter( 'jetpack_implode_frontend_css', '__return_false' );
function dequeue_devicepx() {
wp_dequeue_script( 'devicepx' );
}
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'dequeue_devicepx', 20 );
/* FIN si usas jetpack, con esto eliminamos devicepx */
/* con esto hacemos los 2 jquery de wordpress en uno solo*/
function optimize_jquery() {
if (!is_admin()) {
wp_deregister_script('jquery');
wp_deregister_script('jquery-migrate.min');
wp_deregister_script('comment-reply.min');
$protocol='http:';
if($_SERVER['HTTPS']=='on') {
$protocol='https:';
}
wp_register_script('jquery', $protocol.'//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.0/jquery.min.js', false, '3.6', true);
wp_enqueue_script(‘jquery’);
}
}
add_action(‘template_redirect’, ‘optimize_jquery’);
/* FIN de con esto hacemos los 2 jquery de wordpress en uno solo*/
/*Otras optimizaciones */
function wpb_imagelink_setup() {
$image_set = get_option( ‘image_default_link_type’ );
if ($image_set !== ‘none’) {
update_option(‘image_default_link_type’, ‘none’);
}
}
add_action(‘admin_init’, ‘wpb_imagelink_setup’, 10);
function no_errors_please(){
return ‘Tu computadora se autodestruirá en 60 segundos!';
}
add_filter( ‘login_errors’, ‘no_errors_please’ );
Sounds great. The code I posted is actually working on a live site, so it does the job, even if for sure it would not look like this if you would have done it (but more like something cleaner with td_something::something 🙂
I don’t know much about all these functions, I am tweaking only in HTML and CSS and know a bit about PHP and that’s it. But if in time I find my way to reach my desired output as well in your “system”, I will stay one more happy client for you. For me it is important that I can change all the things that I like to be different, and while some can be solved with CSS, for others I will need to ask you, especially in the beginning.
Thanks for your answers, abia astept for the documentation…
I also modified line 44, like you boxed in your screenshot Radu.
If i apply these changes to td_first_install.php and load /wp_admin will it reset my site once again looking at sidebars, colors, custom css and such?
These things have disappeared/reset when i tried it the first time.
Hi,
1) Try the following css:
.td-footer-template-4 {
padding-top: 5px;
padding-bottom: 0px;
}
.td-footer-info {
margin-bottom: 5px;
}
2. Try the following css:
.td-footer-info .td-social-style-2 .td-icon-font {
font-size: 20px;
}
.td-footer-info .td-social-style-2 .td-icon-font:hover {
color: red;
}
4. The easiest solution would be to disable automatic positioning on taboola and look on their documentation (i suspect you use a plugin for it) for a shortcode, then use the do_shortcode() function to place it on the desired location inside the post template files (loop-single default and 1-11). – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/do_shortcode
5. You have to add it in each post template file like this – http://screencast.com/t/nAaP3gTWp
<?php echo td_global_blocks::get_instance('td_block_ad_box')->render(array('spot_id' => 'custom_ad_1')); ?>
Thank you!
Thanks a lot, is http://www.tarotamor.es 😉
If you can see also i am having problems with the tagdiv author widget css buttons 😉
Hi,
Can you provide a link to see the issue? I will provide you a solution for the responsives to, via CSS.
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
We use xampp installs for testing, we didn’t tested other tools so i cannot recommend you something else.
First backup the site files and database, in case something goes wrong you just use the backup to restore the site. Usually c-panel comes with an option for this, or you could do this manually – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
You can’t keep the old theme in the same folder, you either delete it an install the new one or move it to another location.
In v6.1 we fixed some of the issues which were reported on v6.0:
[ Version 6.1 ]
- improvement: added global colour for block headers in General theme colors section
- improvement: now you can change the fonts on Lists in post content from Theme panel
- improvement: added .screen-reader-text class for better usability
- improvement: visual composer updated to the latest version
- improvement: better documentation + first video tutorials
- fix: UI improvements, key images now have a specified height, this prevents repaints and it makes the page appear that it loads faster
- fix: unique articles work now as expected
- fix: better review import from version 4
- fix: speed booster 4.1 works better now + buddyPress fix
- fix: big grids on iOS where missing titles until touch
- fix: block 20 css fix + speed booster
- fix: content bottom and top content ads css fix for safari, firefox and IE
- fix: various css fixes
- fix: social counter instagram
- fix: main menu z-index
- fix: missing Ajax filter option for IOS slider
- fix: visual composer single image block alignment issues
- fix: space issue when turn off the top menu on header style 12
- fix: the ajax dropdown filter sometimes disappeared when the mouse was moved down to select ca category
- fix: ajax filter - was deselecting all the selected filters from the page on click
- fix: better alignment on reviews
We may consider releasing beta versions in the future, thanks for your suggestion.
Thank you!

Hi,
That area has a background – http://screencast.com/t/g2PsjADHlvT
You could play with the transparency – http://screencast.com/t/CpD5pQjpr
.td-post-template-8 .td-post-header {
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1);
}
Or remove it:
.td-post-template-8 .td-post-header {
background-color: transparent;
}
It also comes with a gradient: – http://screencast.com/t/qIE9Mlo3rUQy
Use the following css to remove it:
.td-image-gradient-style8:after {
display: none;
}
Thank you!

Hi,
Use this CSS, add it in Theme Panel -> Custom CSS and change with the color you want
.td-post-content a:hover {
color: #cccccc;
}
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Try the following css: – http://screencast.com/t/shsS3KBo
.td_block_big_grid_2 .td-module-title a{
background-color: rgba(214, 77, 236, 0.7) !important;
}
or:
.td_block_big_grid_2 .td-module-title{
background-color: rgba(214, 77, 236, 0.7) !important;
}
Thank you!

Hi,
Here is an example with Block 14 with complete white images and you will see that the text have a black gradient to make the text visible. http://screencast.com/t/WpROkqaZWNE5
If you want more darker you can apply a transparent black on entire module to make the text more visible. Use this CSS and adjust the opacity like you want, that value 0.3 from background-color:
.td_block_14 .td_module_mx1 .td-module-thumb:before {
content: '';
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
display: block;
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.3);
z-index: 0;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
}
result: http://screencast.com/t/q7BwGeD1
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Our css is not the biggest one, we worried about that too but we found other themes with bigger ones. The css got so complex due to market demand. Users don’t want simple themes anymore and the majority of users what a theme that works with a lot of other features.
Even with such a huge css file the theme performs very well. The css when it’s gzip by the webserver is only 50Kb .
less makes everything more easy, for example we have the following variables that we use in all the theme http://screencast.com/t/vcfpBFxa .
Hi,
We added a list with plugins with which we tested the Speed Booster plugin, it automatically disables itself if a new plugin is installed. This measure was added to prevent plugin conflict/failure for the average user. This plugin was intended for advanced user, it requires modifications on the code to add new resources (js and css) which are moved to the bottom of the page and conflicts may appear because some plugins may cause issues when you try to move their resources at the page bottom. If the things would have been easier we would make this an automatic process with no need to edit files and make error checking tests with each plugin.
There’s no need to disable all those plugins, you have to add them to the list and check if they work when Speed Booster is enabled. – http://screencast.com/t/q0VwS4g41F
You also have to follow the steps added in the documentation to add into SpeedBooster the resources coming from those plugins and see if there are any errors when they are moved at the bottom – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
The Speed Booster plugin doesn’t replace the cache plugin, it just moves javascript and css at the bottom of the page. So you have to use a cache plugin, we recommend using WP Super Cache.
Thank you, Emil G.
