I also tested this with the latest theme version(4.6.3) and did not found any issues like you can also see on our demo – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
I’m not sure why you have this issue please try to deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and check if you still have this issue.

I’m not sure what you want to do from your description however the most specific filtering you can do is using the tag slug filter and use a specific tag on all posts you want to filter within a block then add that tag in the tag slug filter to pull all posts using that tag in that block.

The same can be achieved using a specific category – add posts you want in it then set the block to filter posts just from that category which will display the posts added there therefore just the posts you want.

You can see the differences between blocks 1 and 2 on our demo:

The theme doesn’t output automatic the og: meta data information, but you can use a plugin for this. We recommend to use this plugin WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin because is the best for SEO. Just install it and activate the meta data: http://screencast.com/t/9CBtZm0bESiP

The theme use the default gravatar – https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Gravatars You need to use a plugin like WP User Avatar We use it also on our demo.
I’m not sure if you use an avatar plugin, but we recommend this plugin.

The height of featured image in post style 4 can be increased via custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css here is an example for desktop screen:

Not sure as I’ve tested your site and this post: http://overpress.it/2015/04/26/terremoto-nepal-2000-morti-nuova-scossa-e-altra-valanga-everest/ on various iOS devices like iPhone 5s, iPad and found nothing wrong, can’t see that black line.
Please provide more details about this, like on what model of iPhone have you noticed it and also try to test our demo and check some posts to see if you can find the same issue there: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/
