Hi,

Flex blocks are the only blocks that have such a setting – http://prntscr.com/mk097i
Default blocks don’t have a setting for the excerpt color. It could be set with CSS, I could give you a solution.
Mention for which blocks you want to do this, or if it should be in general. Let me know.

Thanks

I have a filter set up for the main flex block on the home page. It’s configured to show one post, sorted by -RECENT-. By my understanding, this should show the most recent post. However, it always shows the second-most recent post.

Is this a (known) bug? Am I doing something wrong?

I’m happy to connect with the support team if more details are needed. In the meantime, here is a screenshot:
https://ibb.co/5Lq2GFT

As you can see, “Dolor” is the most recent post. “Lorem Ipsum” is the second-most recent post, and that is what is displaying in the big flex box.

Thanks for your help.

Did you do it exactly as I said? Please check again, for me it looks alright on IE, Chrome and Firefox
http://prntscr.com/mjj38m

Regarding the block design, you could check some cloud blocks designs made by us, you can import each one of them
https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks

Or create your own designs with flex blocks. If you want post meta on the left and image to the right it is possible

Hi,

Please notice that our theme doe not use thumbnails for post pages but only for the blocks/modules. Also, you can try using the Flex Block from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/rSguVnfXxE

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

Those options are available for flex blokes only, if you are using blocks you’ll need to set a custom css
flex example -> https://www.screencast.com/t/OUUA1V1LqQk5

Hope this will help you!
Thanks!

Hi,

If I understand correctly you want to have a homepage a page like the one for category, maybe you can find something in tagDiv Cloud Library -> https://www.screencast.com/t/omMp0wId , if not you can try to build one with tagDiv Composer and use the flex blocks, those have more options to style the blocks.

Also if you like a category page you can get the shotcodes and set it in a new page, but you’ll still need to edit the page and change those element that are specific to category -> https://www.screencast.com/t/LptAGYXHWe
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/cuj9o9Tdbs7
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/VOIjVjJ1

If you have more questions let me know!

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

So something like a shop page with products that are available for purchase from the website? The theme is compatible with the woocommerce plugin if that is what you want to do, here is a link to the plugin documentation
https://docs.woocommerce.com/

Or maybe these have to be simple images with links to posts? The composer has image elements that you can use, some of them have options to set a link. Above those image elements you can set titles.

Or if they are posts you can use flex blocks to display them, add ajax filters above them to allow users to filter the books by categories or tags. In this case you could heck some block examples, maybe you can find one that you like

Thanks

Hi,

It is true that the auto load post feature is currently available only through the cloud library plugin. So the starting post has to be a post using a cloud template, the other posts that will be auto loaded can have any template (cloud or default templates). This was decided to be the best solution for auto loading posts. I can’t say at the moment if this functionality will change in the future. Sorry for any inconvenience.

There are users that do not use the cloud library plugin, it is true. It is an optional plugin that ads a great deal of flexibility by being able to create templates for almost everything, access to the template cloud library, it ads extra elements in the composer, now the auto-load and header builder/manager.

@sgupta_newspaper
Some of the requests you mention are already on our list and are strongly considered to be implemented/modified/fixed. The ones that are not I have added them.

Thanks

Hi,

Having an option to display different headers per page was a feature that many of users have asked for a long time, also being able to create your own headers and customize the header elements without resulting to code modifications or CSS. Now it is possible. Having this option would be necessary for some users.

Hi,

You could use a flex block, these blocks have settings to customize the image height and width – http://prntscr.com/mhx0de
So you can achieve better results in this case.

Here you can see block designs made by us (you can preview and even edit them to see how they are made), each can be imported through the cloud library plugin
https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/

Hi Lucas Lynch,

That demo use a cloud template for post, you’ll need to edit that template ( from cloud template or from post ); for example if you are on the post, just click on edit template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6spFPzna7y -> https://www.screencast.com/t/PX1dmFmK after that save the changes and check the post again -> https://www.screencast.com/t/I8m5dffOvWF

Also if you want to change the category “tag” color on blocks those options are available only on flex blocks -> https://www.screencast.com/t/093GsFvO
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/IP1MyRAKoTx
If you want to change the category background color for others blocks you can use custom css -> https://www.screencast.com/t/FLJZl5suEM2

Thank you!

Hi,

1. Please make sure when you set the logo that you set the size of image for full size
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/m9R0TjVj
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/YvKdOVFZVq

2. Please check if you do not have set as footer a page, if is so is possible that page to be empty -> https://www.screencast.com/t/pjMpiwTjM if you want to use a default footer set the footer page on no page -> https://www.screencast.com/t/qzmK0llM

3. The avatar of author will look like this ( but your user do not have set an avatar ), so if you want to remove it you’ll need to edit the page with tagDiv Composer
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/UKECnuo5job click on avatar image -> https://www.screencast.com/t/sLFQ10AghzH then you’ll see that is a flex block 1 click on layout and scroll down until author section and unchecked the show author photo -> https://www.screencast.com/t/rFR57Kmvm after that save the page.

Hope this will help you better!
Thanks.

One way of doing it is like this, first an empty row with a background image set and some padding (set the padding values as you want)
http://prntscr.com/mhqr1t
Then add another row below it, and set a negative margin top to it (I used -150px you can use the value you want) – http://prntscr.com/mhqrst
In that second row I recommend to use a flex block which has more settings, and a similar design like the demo can be achieved with it
http://prntscr.com/mhqse9http://prntscr.com/mhqsk6
You can customize the flex block in many ways further, it has many options. In the demo block 5 is used with additional CSS, but the same can be resulted with a flex block.

.td-header-top-menu,
.td-header-top-menu-full,
.td-header-sp-top-menu {
display: block!important;
text-align: center;
}
}
@media (max-width: 1140px){
.td-header-menu-social {
display: inline-flex!important;
}
}
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-social-icon-wrap {
display: inline-flex!important;
}
}

Hi,

Here is the custom code for load more button -> https://www.screencast.com/t/BLeMpaj62x
from style section you can set the font on load more button -> https://www.screencast.com/t/UcuVTBfjc1
.td_flex_block_5 .td_ajax_load_more{
width: 100%;
}

Just add the code in Newspaper>theme panel>Custom code>Custom css and all FlexBlock 5 will have the load more button with full width.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have two columns on webpage with FlexBlock 5 in each. Which CSS code I have to write to make “load more buttons” bigger and with full block width?

Hi,

Unfortunately the blocks do not have only fee options, but you can use flex block 5, flex’s have more options -> https://www.screencast.com/t/lXceUSy527T

One tip would be that if you use flex blocks with smaller modules such as this one
http://prntscr.com/mgsmsb

Those modules will load a default thumbnail which is bigger than what would be needed for such a small module, you can select a smaller size for them – http://prntscr.com/mgspsa
This will reduce the page size.

There is a 404 error on an element, seems to be relates to a lazy load plugin
http://prntscr.com/mgswbl
The theme already has a lazy load function, if you use a plugin for this task disable the one from the theme because there could be problems – http://prntscr.com/mgsxu0

Simion C.
tagDiv Staff

You could use default grids, these use thumbnails exactly cut for the respective modules
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/

Adding more sizes to the flex grids and blocks is present on our to do list. You could add more in the td_config file as you say but the changes will be lost after an update.Better to use the api plugin provided here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/practical-example-how-to-add-a-new-block-and-module/
Add he api:update there, for example – http://prntscr.com/mgsgru
Then regenerate the thumbnails (I use the force regenerate plugin) and the grid will use the size you set – http://prntscr.com/mgsh89
Could be other ways of doing it maybe.

Hi,

Our theme make some thumbs for each image you add in media library -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
So you want to have more control over blocks, if is so then you need to use tagDiv Composer and you can use instead of simple block the flex blocks -> https://www.screencast.com/t/GG6JFCWT8kT

Thank you.
