Hi, I need to create posts without using the templates that automatically insert content in the content area. I do want the header and footer, but no other content blocks. I want to create the post with visual composer and have full control of the content area. How do I do this? or what are basic steps to create my own custom template, if that’s possible? Thanks.
Hello Manjeet,
Please notice that our theme has a list of footer templates which can be selected from here -> http://screencast.com/t/Lqa6mdswp If you want to have another design, please notice that you should implement this yourself because we cannot offer additional customizations, sorry! For more information about these templates, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hey Tag,
This is Siddhartha from Farbound.Net. I have been using your theme for some time now and I have to say this – it is just wonderful with its intuitiveness, stylish appeal and flexibility. Plus your updates never cease to surprise. Though my support expired a while back, I was wondering if you could still supply me with some answers.
1. Can the smart side bar by any chance and via custom CSS be made to recognize stretched rows? Say I use template style 3 with the right side bar operational and then put some stretched VC rows into the content. If I do this right now the sidebar flows right over the VC containers. If I can get the sidebar to float underneath the stretched content, nothing like it. Presently I am using visual composer to do this.
2. The Smart List is not supposed to work with Visual Composer, is it? I tried that on template 5 with visual composer, but the sidebar gets pushed right below the content. Also sometimes the NEXT and PREVIOUS BUTTONS overlap each other. Or am I doing something wrong here?
3. For templates that include the headlines and subtitles within the featured image, is there any way to adjust both the subtitles and headlines to appear better with some spacing when viewing on mobiles? Right now it becomes a jumble. But works well with just headlines. These would be template style 3 and template style 7. For an example: view this page (I noticed this on chrome with the browser size minimized) – Outpost of a vanishing world
4. I followed your instructions and successfully placed an advertisement just above the footer section with a stretched visual composer row, background-color applied. The ad was visible but the background-color was not. Did I miss something?
5. Do you plan to include new post templates in the future? A template that has the headline and subtitle on top of a rather large full width image. I am doing this right now with visual composer.
6. I noticed the social share box at the bottom has some space. Was wondering if it could accommodate a COMMENT icon inside as well along with the word ‘COMMENT’ or just the word. You know, once people reach the end of the story they can not only share it if they like but also find the COMMENT WORD there – clicking which they could directly reach the comment section. The comment icon presently available right now is very stylish but I feel not many are aware what the icon stands for. Yes, I am also well aware people who comment are very less, but since I still come across a lot of reputable media sites using the comment word big and bold, I assume the word does better than an icon.
7. Do you plan to include the option of using custom background-colors with advertisements? I managed to add a light grey to the header ad by coloring the wrapper via css but if an adblock is on viewers only see the grey box. Not that I mind, I can always put a message that says kindly turn your adblock off. Though if you do add in that option, would be very nice indeed.
Thanks
Hello manigowda,
This type of footer content can be handled by your footer style. If you do not like this, you should change the Footer Style or also, using the Footer Style 5 you should create your own footer template, using the Footer1,2,3 section from Widgets Area. For more information about Footer section, consult the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the message!
Hello tagdiv1000,
Please try to consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-footer-templates-2/ regarding on our footer templates. Please notice that the Footer 2 section work only in few cases and for some footer templates.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi, I am using Style- 1 which has predefined layouts. It has three column sections.
1. Editors Pick 2. Popular Posts 3. Popular Categories.
Most probably “Popular Categories” are chosen based on the number of posts under it and then top 9 categories with maximum number of posts are displayed.
But what about editors pick and popular posts section? I know that these sections are pre-occupied with contents but since it’s also based on some algorythm so I want to know it selects posts to show under these sections so that I can be aware of what’s going to be displayed there.
Or its simply a random selection? I mean it has no connection with being popular or latest. Please help to have little control over it ( I know that there are other footer templates too like Style-5 where I can define these sections by myself but I particularly like this template and just want to know how it selects posts )
Second question:
Have a look at this footer screenshot of my website: https://i.imgur.com/prZpN8n.jpg
The logo displayed on footer looks very big and it takes so much space of footer. How can I disable the footer logo from Mobile only? I like the logo on desktop version though.
Thank you.
Hello Fitlogy.com,
Our theme has a lot of footer templates which can be changed from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/Nqz8qxdXkFU7 For more information about this feature, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
You can create your very own page, you do not have to use the predefined one. In fact we do not recommend editing the dummy data as when you decide to uninstall or switch demos, the dummy content will be removed even if you edit it and add your own content over it. You are better off installing the demo without content and start creating original content.
The section below the video playlist is not controlled from visual composer. It is the latest articles element that is added through the page template. https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
As for the footer, the first 2 footer styles (1 and 2) have predefined content that cannot be edited. iof you want to change this, you will have to choose a different footer template that does not have content and then use the widgets section of wp to add content to the footer 1 footer 2 and footer 3 widgets.
Thank you!
HI
Those blocks are predefined in theme’s core and can’t be changed from theme panel or wordpress admin. You will need to edit the footer files and change the implementation or use a footer template which allows you to choose what blocks to display in it. You can use style 5 or style 9 to achieve a similar layout: http://screencast.com/t/WTMAv6shGIP Pease check our documentation for more details in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thanks!
Hello yangyi,
All of these string sections can be translated from our Translations area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/aRJX63YeAo1 -> http://screencast.com/t/piX1m5pVTNaw The other words like Disclaimer Privacy Advertisement Content are part of footer menu items and these can be changed from panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ssyI4w2t If you want to customize your footer section, please notice that you can handle it from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/5anlrh4d5H9h For more information about our footer templates, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
It seemed to work (on 1 post template):

But not here:

And we have the post comments disabled:

Does this mean we need to update “all” post templates?
If yes, it’d be easier/more convenient, to have 1 standard post footer for all posts (and then custom ones per post type).
Thanks!
Hi
The theme use widgets do display the footer content and you can customize theme from Appearance section: http://screencast.com/t/ACbvN0qhd In those widgets you can add blocks which will be displayed in footer. For more details in this regard please check our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Either turn off the option for showing categories on posts from theme panel. Done. Or, you need to move that in your templates if wanted.
If you want to move that to footer, as I do, then you would need to move that block in the post template(s) you’re using from the loop file to bottom — I move my category block down to the tag block area with certain layouts.
Simplest thing is to just disable showing the “categories” elements on post, as not strictly needed since those same categories are in your menu(s) and in sitemap(s) for Google, et al.

Hi gardenvale,
This is the Footer template style 1, from what I see, right? So, please notice that this type of template is custom made and these are using those Blocks -> Editor Picks, Popular Posts and Popular Category (these are using the Block 7 and each has other sorting). If you want to change the structure of these, please notice that you will have to change the Footer template from your panel. If you want to make a custom footer template, please notice that you can use the Footer template style 5 and there you can add what elements you want from the Widgets area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/PWVScMdrj For more information about this section, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hello,
The first issue with the icons is a font issue. Fonts get loaded from different sources and the icons break. A cdn server is the primary cause to it so you have to do a little digging to find a solution that works for your hosting as the allow origin solution does not work for everybody:
https://www.google.ro/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=cdn%20allow%20origin&oq=cdn%20allow%20origin&aqs=chrome..69i57j0.3719j0j7
This issue happens regardles of the theme you use so it;s not a theme bug but a general cdn issue. CDN servers should really warn people about such issues.
As for your other issues regarding the mobile version of the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The mobile theme is an optional plugin. If you do not want to use it, the desktop theme is already responsive and displays properly on all devices.
The footer editor picks can be populated by using the ‘featured’ category. You can mark posts as featured and they will show in the editor picks element. This is part of the footer predefined content. You can read more about it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hello,
You can remove the footer predefined content by selecting another footer template. If you want to add your own custom elements, please choose an empty footer template and then use the 3 footer widgets fro the wordpress widgets area. you can read more about it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hello,
The first 2 footer styles come with predefined content that cannot be changed from the theme settings. If you want to have your own elements in the footer we recommend using a footer style that does not come with predefined content (footer style 3 and up) Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hello,
The first 2 footer templates come with predefined content. That means that the content cannot be altered: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
If you want to replicate these elements, you can simply use our block element widgets from the widgets area.
1) These 2 elements use block 7
2) It’s best not to add content over the footer 1 and 2 styles as it will be shown below the predefined content. Please chose an empty style and use blocks to create your own footer content.
We created these 2 styles to help users have a good looking footer out of the box and not have to add elements to it from the start. For users that want to customize it, we added extra empty styles so they can customize the footer to their preference.
Thank you!
Hello Tomka,
Please notice that the Footer template style 1 and 2 cannot be modified because all of them has a default design. So, if you want to make your own footer style, you will have to use the footer template style 5 and then using the Footer 1,2,3 you can add what you want to display on your footer section. For more information about this feature, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello livingtosmile,
I have checked your website and I noticed that you are using the footer template 1. Please notice that this style is custom made and you cannot change the structure of by but only if you change the code. If you want to have your own footer template, please notice that you can change this from Theme panel (for example footer template style 5 which allow being customized as you wish). For more information about Footer templates, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
The first 3 footer templates come with predefined content. This content cannot be changed, only renamed from the translations section of the theme panel. If you want to have your own custom content in the footer please choose an empty footer template and place your own content in the widgets area by dragging and dropping elements in the footer 1, 2 and 3 widget areas. Maybe this guide will help: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hi,
That block is translated through the translations section of the theme panel as it is predefined content that comes with the footer style and it cannot be changed from the theme settings. Please search for BÀI XEM NHIỀU in the translations section of the theme panel.
If you want to change it;s settings, this cannot be done as it is a predefined block. If you want to have a standard block and access to the block settings in the footer, you must chose one of the empty footer styles and add content in the footer 1 2 and 3 section of the WP widgets area: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hello webowner001,
I have checked your website and I saw that you are using the footer template style 2 which come default with the theme. Please notice that your actual footer template contains 2 blocks which are added automatically by the theme in this footer template. So, if you want to have your own custom footer template, you will have to use the footer template style 5 because this support to do what type of changes you want, using the Footer 1,2,3 from your Widgets section in WordPress. So, if you want to hide the Popular Category from your website, you can use the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.td-footer-template-2 .td_block_popular_categories{
display:none;
}
Also, for more information about footer template, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
1) Please try to pt the amazon code inside a post in text mode and see if it gets displayed. We have not tested our ad spots with amazon ads but they should work. If you ads are non adsense we recommend using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
Test the ads on a wp default theme as well to see if the ads are accepted by wordpress at all.
Alternatively you can use the adrotate plugin to bypass the theme ad system entirely.
2) The first 3 footer templates come with predefined content that cannot be removed, If you want to have your own content in the footer chose an empty footer template and then place widgets in the 3 footer widgets in the wp section: http://screencast.com/t/86e09c10
Thank you!
Hello don chu,
Please notice that the footer template style 1 comes by default with the theme and you cannot change the structure of it but only if you alter the code corresponding to footer template used by you. As you can see, the footer template style 1 it’s made of 3 widgets -> Editor Picks -> Popular Posts -> Popular Category. Please notice that the Editor Picks is a simple block 7 filtered by featured posts as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/lFdSp9ESr
So, if you want to custom made a footer template, I suggest using the footer template style 5 because this could be customized by yourself as you wish. For more information about our footer templates, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
