Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help. Let’s zero in on the task of getting the font of the author card to be the same as the rest of the site. I notice that when I go to the theme panel, I can indeed adjust the font and size, but the author card on the author’s page remains the same. How can this be fixed?
Here…the author card at the end of a post: http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/this-weeks-featured-artist-tim-carr-talks-photography-and-24-hours-in-havana/
Here…the author card on the author page: http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/author/audrey-woodhams/

That removes the Author’s name. I only want to remove the comment count from the author’s block on the author’s page here: http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/author/audrey-woodhams/. For example, it says “3 Posts” and “O Comments” but I want to remove the “O Comments” item. How can I do this? Thanks!

Hello azzronulation,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3EDbEsBWAr1. You should remove all of them, leave just the required plugins to be active, clear all the caches and check the results. If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch, via FTP way and use the theme only with default settings and check the results. I have tested on my side, the post template style 6 works as expected.

Thanks for the message!

Hello! In the category pages seen here (http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/category/photography/) I’d like to add a tab to view all of the posts. For example, in the categories at the top, it would say All, Fashion, Get Inspired, Making a Difference, etc. How can this be done? Thanks!

I disabled the CDN network, cleared the caches. Switched to the old theme, deleted the Newspaper install and re-installed the theme files via FTP. I’ve switched to the theme, re-installed the default theme demo and switched the home page. I am now able to bring up the home page in the composer.

There was an error that came up when I first installed the demo content. That may be related to this error. If I run into this error again. I will post an update.

Sometimes it’s a time out or permissions issue on server with WordPress.

Best way to install is via FTP to ensure it’s done properly, and you can also make backups as needed!

a) change all your passwords immediately; make sure NOT using any account called ‘admin’; disable XMLRPC in your theme config file; install limit login attempts plugin. See section on WordPress.org about ‘hardening’ WordPress.
b) remove all old/unused plugins and themes
c) make sure you’re on latest version of WP
d) scan site with Securi
e) consider doing clean version of WordPress via FTP; delete old version upload new
f) consider clean install of all plugins and themes via FTP, delete old
g) disable/clear any / all caching plugins completely
h) check your htaccess file for any redirects

Perhaps first disable all ad units in your theme panel or any ad plugin completely, see if ads still generated when doing view source; disable or remove plugins one by one to see if hacked plugin.

Good luck!

Once you clean house, make proper backups for safe keeping.

Best to install via FTP since there appears to be either a timeout issue or permissions issue in the install with WP method.

Hi,

Try installing the theme again using this method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Then deactivate all your plugins except the ones provided in the theme package and clear any caching installed. Then try to activate the theme again manually

Hi,

That does not happen for me trying to replicate. I added a text with title element on a page, with content in new lines
https://www.screencast.com/t/6sXzRWTR86Z
Saved the page and this is the result
https://www.screencast.com/t/GAS6llOiiYc
Something else must be causing this issue for you. You could try to deactivate all the plugins except the tagDiv composer, clear the cache and see if this has any effect. Or even try a fresh theme install by this method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Please let us know how it goes, if you manage to identify the cause.

Thanks

Hi,

You can try the FTP method to update the theme. Here is a guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Of course you should still take in consideration the steps before you update the theme
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Visual composer is still available in the theme package and you can use it accordingly. After you update the theme just deactivate it from the plugins section. More information about the new tagDiv editor and the transition to it
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/

Thanks

Hi,

I did not update with FTP. Just using the import from WP it selfs. What is the difference? The theme is working like a charm. The TD composer also, but I cannot save because of the layer, see my snap. I am not using VC. So why the link to switch over form TB to VC? I need no transition document.

System status is check, all green. Beside of max_input_vars. I asked my provider if it can be increment.

Regards,

Bert

Hi,

Please check the theme system status and make modifications if needed, according to this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Deactivate all your plugins except tagDiv composer, clear any caching installed and create a new page again, then try to edit it using the composer. If it is still not working you can try a theme reinstall using this method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and test again while having only the tagDiv composer activated.
Please let us know if it works properly like it should.

Thanks

Hi,

This is a strange problem. A theme re-install should resolve the problem but it seems the issue has been carried along. Please use this method to make a fresh install
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin from the plugins section and leave only Visual composer active, the tagDiv editor is activated from the moment you updated the theme.
If you are using a child theme switch to the main theme, also check or remove any custom code you might have entered in the theme panel custom code sections.
If after you install the theme as mentioned and following all the advice, the issue is not resolved, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic in your email.

Thanks

The theme is a fresh install from FTP. Adding the CSS code seems to have fixed the display issue. Thanks!

Hello gorg73,

Please keep in mind that disorder does not come from our default theme behavior, sorry! Notice that the first steps for debugging in WordPress are to disable all of the untested plugins used by you, because these might interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues and break the theme. Remove all of them and in that way you rule out the conflicting plugins. If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch, via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. If you need more assistance in this regard and if the problem is still there after my advice, please provide your website URL.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello gkleinman,

This is not a good theme behavior, sorry! You should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and try to disable all the untested active plugins which can interact with the theme core files and check the results. As a quick solution, please check the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
