I don’t run a cache plugin nor a CDN and I’ve completely cleared the caches on both Chrome and Firefox on my Mac many, many times and still nothing appears in that block. But if I load Firefox on my Linux box which has never accessed the site before, the block appears. The header appears to be cached somewhere but I don’t know where.

I just found that the header works on Mac Safari too, which I also never use and which has never accessed the site before now.

I even changed that ad link to another image and Chrome and Firefox on the Mac aren’t picking it up.

Hi,

I tested the website with gtmetrix, looks quite fine from what I can see
http://prntscr.com/oiu155
Removing the thumbnails from the page would reduce the page size and improve loading speed. Maybe consider using an image optimization plugin, make some tests with it as well.

The color flash you mention in the header section can be visible in some cases. For a brief moment the initial colors of the header in this case are seen, before the custom colors are loaded and applied. It could even be caused by optimization plugins, same for the background image.
There should be a transition before the background image loads, like in this demo post
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/
If as a test you deactivate the optimization plugins you are using at the moment, what are the results?

Thanks

Hi Simion,

thank you for ypur reply.

I have just donwloaded the newspaper theme and imported it ty my local hosting system to get started with wordpress. I am a newcomer.

I did not change the standard configuration of the heade menu so far. Just managed to change the names of the headline.

So I have one meage-menu with sub-categories and one without plus the simple drop-down all in the header.

So far I do not understand where I could activate or de-activate the different type of menus.
I have not downloaded any additional header template.

My goal is to change the header menu so that I will just use one of the above mentioned menu either mega-menu with sub just the simple drop down. This I did not manage so far. 🙁

Thank you for your help.

Regards

Mike

Hi,

You can remove the “Loading..” in two ways, the first one is using a custom css
#src_load{
display: none;
}

that need to be set in Theme Panel>Mobile Theme> Custom code> Css -> http://prntscr.com/oit0du
Or you can comment/remove the code from theme core wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/header-amp.php -> http://prntscr.com/oit3oo

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hi,

There may be some issues with the child theme but we will try to fix them as quickly as possible.

If you want to use the header file in the child theme, copy the header file from the composer – http://prntscr.com/oirye2
In the child theme main folder – http://prntscr.com/oirym7 it should work fine.

The modules should work fine, just create the same directory path to them in the child theme. So for example I I want to remove the post title from module 4 in the child theme
http://prntscr.com/ois3yuhttp://prntscr.com/ois47thttp://prntscr.com/ois4h7

For the headers there is a modification that has to be made after copying them in the child theme, an example with header style 4 – http://prntscr.com/ois5gf

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

The theme can display 2 types of mega-menus besides a simple drop-down menu type
https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
So there is a mega-menu with sub-categories and one without sub-categories.

Which cloud header template have you imported? Also what exactly would you like to change about the menus? I will try to help you, maybe there are settings for it. Please let me know.

Thanks

How do i remove the white gap between the header and the map? I get that if it was something added from TagDiv i could go to the CSS and put margin at -80 but i can’t do that in this case.

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Hi @middaysun,

If you like the Fast News Header then you mas know that this is using a gradient color and the background color from theme pane for this section do not have a gradient color; in order to change it, you’ll need to use the header manager to change the background color for the header, import the Header template 17 – Fast News after that click on the background color and change the color on Header menu zone -> http://prntscr.com/oifjnr -> http://prntscr.com/oifkmu

Hope this will help you!
Thanks.

Hi SimeonN,

If you want to have a different header on some pages/posts, you’ll need to set a general/global header in theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VEsottoh5 and this will be applied to all pages/post that do not have set an individual header ( to set individual header on pages you need to edit them and set from header manager the header, for post you’ll need to set the header on a single post template and apply it on posts ).

Thank you!

Also yes we have customized via child theme following the documentation link given below.

can you please check into it.

Catalin thanks for your reply.

Yes we have updated theme to its latest version on our site.
The issue is as theme has moved /parts and /includes folder to plugin we are unable to overwrite it via child theme. These two folders were inside theme folder previously we easily customized file inside these folder via child theme. Now as the files are moved to plugin folder /td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/ we are unable to modify files.

Eg.
Say we want to edit header-style-1.php via child theme its not possible it breaks the header as this file has require_once(‘header-menu.php’) we need to change it to plugin paths, then it works.

Also /include folder files like /includes/modules/td_module_1.php we cant edit it.

some files in /parts folder is working but some doesn’t and /include folder no file is editable. Can the theme add compatibility that we could edit the files via child theme easily. This would be really helpful as we have customized lots of theme core files from /parts and /includes folder which are now moved to plugin.

Hope you will now have a better idea what we are trying to achieve.

Thanks.

Hello,

I did not change the configuration of the td-demo-header-menu so far.

I can see diffent types of sub-menus in the drop down. Diffent styles of drop down e.g. with and without a pictured link.
Where do I find the configuration of these sub menus so that I can change the set just to one kind of of drop downs?
I did not find the correct edit menu so far :-(.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi,

I have checked your website and I saw that you have set up another main menu background for that section. So, it seems that your style is loaded later and that’s why you bring that flash. Try to add your code inside the script tags into your Google Analitycs section, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/mYyCTTvljMzl and that rule should have to be firstly loaded in the header and therefore, the flash should not be there.

<style>.td-boxed-layout .td-header-style-3 .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-boxed-layout .td-header-style-4 .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-header-style-3 .td_stretch_content .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-header-style-4 .td_stretch_content .td-header-menu-wrap {
background-color: #5a6d5b !important;}
</style>

Hope this helps!

Thank you!

Thanks for your answer.
However, I have created a custom header, so I don’t get those options.
That whole dialog box disappears, when I select my own header instead of one of your built-in templates.
Please get back to me asap. We are looking to launch today.

Dear Calin, thanks alot.

but I actually meant something else. (-; I would like to display only the top categories without the subcategories in the megameü. Is that synonymous? In addition, I get the following error messages in the frontend when setting the menu.

ciao Rick

/wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/shortcodes/header/tdb_header_mega_menu.php on line 116

Hi,

The correct source for the Ad Code should have to look similar like below. Did you have tried this?

<div class="td-all-devices"></div>

The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/FlVO4QQFuua

Please note that your custom ad code should look like as I have pointed you above. If you add another class, this banner will not work as expected. Please check our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-using-other-ads/ to see how your custom ads should be created. If you have any questions, please let us know and also, provide more details.

Thank you!

Hi,

This option can be found in mega menu element using the header manager -> http://prntscr.com/oi9byd and you can order the subcategories from the category by name or id in mega menu.

Thank you!
