You are doing nothing wrong, that header style is boxed by default. Now you could enter this code in the Theme panel->Custom CSS

This would be a solution to also have the centered menus and a background color as you want.
Yes thank you I have removed the stretch option but then it leaves a white background space at either end of the menu. I’ve also tried stretch container only.
The header background is set to the same blue as the menus. I can’t seem to find a color setting for that whole main menu row.
What am I doing wrong?

I think you mean the top menu as the main header menu is already shown on mobile devices.

You could create a child theme, there is one provided in the theme package. Copy the header file there (be sure to create the same directory path to the file) and modify it there

This way this modification will not be affected by a theme update.

I am using the Style 3 header on http://www.womensgolf.com and I would like to centre align the top and main menus. Currently they are left aligned. Is there some custom CSS that will achieve this?

Can somebody help me. I want to remove the top ad from this page and only this page. I have found out how to remove the post name header using :

but I can’t quite figure out how to get the top banner hidden.

Can we display the header menu of the website in mobile devices?
Well, you need to take the child theme from v8, then apply any customizations you did with v6 to the v8 child theme. So, let’s say you put a custom footer in your v6 child theme, you’d move that over to the v8 child theme.
So, you might use file comparison software and compare the v6 theme with the v6 child to see what you changed; then move over any edits to the v8 child theme. Only reason to use child theme is if you made changes to the files (I personally just hack the main files, and keep track of that; stuff like removing the pingback in header, or removing comment count from the author block page element for author index, etc.).
Basically if you use v6 child theme to “over ride” the v8 theme, then of course stuff will be broken as the CSS, various functions, etc. are different. So, it’s like over-riding one theme with totally different theme — won’t work.

I added the slogan in the HeaderStyle10.php file and it works just fine.
I normally don’t like adding stuff to the themes core files.
Does this change to HeaderStyle10.php means that I have to redo this process when a future update of your theme will arrive?

We have implemented the TagDiv AMP plugin, however for some reason:
– Certain content on main page does not show – certain post header images
– AMP does not follow through when you click a blog post, you are redirected to the normal page
– Logo looks blurry

If you stretch the main menu and increase the font
Header Style:
Style 2 – Multipurpose
Force Full Width:
HEADER ⇢ LOGO AND AD SPACE = stretch container and 1600px content
HEADER ⇢ MENU = stretch container and 1600px content
Font Settings:
MAIN MENU = Size 26px
Then add a couple menu items…

After activating the child theme the home page and category pages has a normal header, but the content below is white blank. In the browser console it shows a 500 error. Regular pages (with out tagdiv composer blocks) and single posts works fine. The strangest thing is that when the the homepage loads and show blank area on the content part, the homepage works fine when clicking at “home” on the navigation (which directs to the very same page), but while just performing a manual page refresh the content is blank. Any idea?

On the homepage of the site in the header section I would like to remove the YouTube Icon. I have targeted it using CSS with the inspector tool many times only to have that CSS applied and not work.
I have tried using incognito browsing and deleting all browser caches. Nothing seems to remove it.

Hi I am using Header style 10 in your Newspaper theme with a normal and retina logo and wanted to add a slogan below that logo.
The thing is that Newspaper either shows only the logo or only the tagline if the logo is disabled, but I want to show them both.
I already have a little workround where I disabled the logo in the logo url field and made a in the tagline field to get them both. But this method doesn’t cover the need of a retina logo.
Could you please help?

That is an unusual problem, it seems to be related in someway with the top header ad. If removed the problem is gone. I could provide you with a code to fix it

This is a well known issue with WP and it does not seem to have any specific cause. If you google the “the plugin does not have a valid header” you will see that there are lots of topics opened on this issue but no solution provided.
The simplest course of action would be to just install the plugin via ftp.

Thank you for that! Unfortunately, after setting the author template as the default from the cloud templates, the author page only displays the header and the footer of the page, no articles or other content, including the author profile.
Is there something else that I’m missing?
