Hi,
I experience several problems with Newspaper 7.3
I couldn’t find anyway to fix them, so here I am.
First, I use Big Grid 7 from visual composer for my homepage.
Looks good on the desktop, but not appear on mobile.
Second, I use post template style #8.
The header background looks good on the desktop but not appear on mobile.
In fact, the author name falls behind the social buttons so it’s not visible to the readers.
Third, the sidebar in posts not appear on mobile.
I installed the theme on 2 different websites and they both have the same problem.
I’m using Newspaper child theme.
Thanks in advance
You can simply delete it. If you do not want to use visual composer you will have to remove any pages that have been created with visual composer as they will not work anymore. If you do not know how to delete pages please refer to the wordpress documentation/forums for wordpress settings and features.
If you want to change the meta description for the homepage you can use seo yoast to do it. Please read this topic:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/adding-meta-description-to-homepage-using-yoast/
Thank you!
The difference between them is one is a page created in visual composer, and the other is your homepage blog setting from wordpress. The homepage is created by wordpress and styled by the theme and the other one is a page you created. This is a page you created: http://curiosityhuman.com/curiosityhuman-top-10-stimulating-lists/
this is created by wordpress to display as your homepage: http://curiosityhuman.com/
Thank you!
Hello pauldm,
The Say Way demo has not an available template which may be selected from Visual Composer. If you want to have a Say What demo layout, the only way is to install that demo according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/ Also, as homepage, the say what demo uses the pagebuilder+latest articles+pagination as page template and the page builder content you can try the following shortcode -> http://pastebin.com/0paUP2Et
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Since the latest version the post meta info has been split in 2 options. One for the posts and one for the homepage blocks. If you onyl removed it from post settings, you also need to remove it from here: http://screencast.com/t/9QhY9oI7cbV
Thank you!
Hello,
The sidebar on the latest articles section is simply selected from the page edsit screen: http://screencast.com/t/vXr5l79NFax6
It seems to work fine on your homepage now.
Thank you!
Hi,
Can someone help me remove the instagram widget from the homepage of my website http://www.imogensangels.com.au.
I have tried disabling the widget but it does not work.
Please help!

Hi Andrei
Have tried everything

Anuj
Although it looks like there is no template for the Say What homepage….
I am trying to replicate manually. Any idea how the demo has the first block on the homepage flush with the header?
Ok, I found out that the sections I want to remove from my home page (www.headstartschool.org/diploma) are called ‘Widgets’. Where in my dashboard can I go and hide/delete widgets shown on the homepage?
Many thanks!
I have a problem I can’t solve by myself. The homepage of my site (http://www.calcionews24.com/) has a block “Slide” and when the page is loading the slider height changes giving the impression of moving content on the page. Look at this screenshot taken during load page, and this taken when page loaded.
As you can see the category tag under the slide seems to move during loading, cause the height of the slide is initially higher.
I tried playing with css but I didn’t found a solution. Can you help me?
Thanks
P.S.: I also tried it on a local install without plugins and it gives the same problem.
Using the radio button, I should be able to revert back to posts from static page. I did this, unable to modify the template using the theme editor.
OK, so I will modify the static page using the limited Visual Composer. I suppose I could upgrade this in addition to paying for the template, but I can’t afford that right now.
Maybe you can tell me how this works:
In classic mode: Homepage latest articles > General > Sidebar position. How do I unselect the position? I want the sidebar to load. This allows three selections, none show the sidebar.
Hi!
How can i hide the wordpress articles and sidebar from the homepage.
I have designed my homepage using the visual composer but the wordpress articles and sidebar are additionally shown at the bottom of the page.
Regards
Ayuve
Hi
Please use this guide to set your homepage:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
you can use visual composer to create your own page layout and then set is as a homepage.
Thank you!
The homepage can be set to show your latest posts from wordpress from the reading settings: http://screencast.com/t/aV9dpsqW
Then you can choose the blog template from here: http://screencast.com/t/xuYsNaGQL
“Please re-create your homage or check it for any open tags if you know how. If not simply start over and create a new homepage.”
How would i re-create my homepage? I use demo without content when installing. Right now it is a feed basically with all the posts.
Hello,
you will have to check your homepage as the html structure gets altered. That black background is actually the footer stretching across the whole site. That should not be like that. Please re-create your homage or check it for any open tags if you know how. If not simply start over and create a new homepage.
Thanks
Sure.
The homepage without visual composer will look depending on the post style you choose. It is basically a list of all your posts in the latest to oldest fashion and pagination . Depending on the module you choos it will look like these examples:
http://screencast.com/t/gPwk8CtFEJBq
http://screencast.com/t/sSP3VoyqQ
http://screencast.com/t/IIpvmpdQn1Ky
http://screencast.com/t/A2apxXGmQb9W
http://screencast.com/t/kB8v4S3Yfz
http://screencast.com/t/TCuV7baGPy
etc.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.
Hello ronens,
For your first request, please try to Regenerate your Thumbnail using the Force Regenerate Thumbnails with Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, clear all your caches and test it again and for your second request, the latest articles module on your homepage can be customized from your backend when you edit your homepage, from here -> http://screencast.com/t/PgwFGyWnn
Thanks for the message!
In my all posts I don’t need to use visual composer, but its same time I use it for only home page custom settings, and I think this is the heavy plugin, which we only use for a homepage, does it make sense ?
I think it slows the site speeds, that’s why I wanna remove the plugin
and can you show me a demo or screenshot of the homepage without the visual composer? so that I can test on it by removing VC.
Thanks 🙂
Modules and blocks only work with visual composer. No visual composer means no modules and blocks. On pages you will not be able to use theme. You can use modules on category templates but that;s about it. If you want to build a custom homepage with block elements, you will need visual composer. If you select a blog style homepage, you can change the module used by the theme to display the articles but you cannot customize anything beyond that.It will be just likie a category page. You can choose the article display and the sidebar, but no custom positioning or layouts without visual composer. Here is where you will find the setting: http://screencast.com/t/pF8kD3Ci
Thank you!
Hello gubedel,
Please pay attention because I suppose that you do not understand our mobile theme concept. For your first request, if you want to have the same Homepage Block to your mobile mode, you will not have Mobile Theme installed and the layout in mobile mode for this type of block should look like this -> http://screencast.com/t/yW1OIaZ0uT So if you want to bring those there Big Gird in Mobile mode, you should enable the Mobile Theme plugin and you should have minimum 3 posts in Featured category, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/pvS8FE2Vh If the mobile theme is active, the mobile editor can be found at the very bottom of the editor file in Visual Composer, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/dYXHEhLqmU
Also, you should reading again our documentation in this regard, because there was very good explained this concept.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Yes you can actually. The homepage can be set to show your latest posts from wordpress from the reading settings: http://screencast.com/t/aV9dpsqW
Thank you!
Hello,
If your homepage is a blog list set like so in the wp settings: http://screencast.com/t/MqTmYurq then you can control the number of posts to display from the same screen. If you have a custom page set created in visual composer, then you need to use the block settings and set the number of posts you want displayed in each block: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Thank you!
Hello,
The baby blog demo was built with a revolution slider element so it requires the revolution slider plugin to be installed and active: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/ and then you need to import he baby blog slider like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
This is only if you want it to have a slider. If you do not want the slider you can always edit the page and remove the revolution slider element on the homepage and replace it with your own content.
Thank you!
