Thank you! That did it for the front page. However it does not seem to target the sidebars on the post-pages (even though it is the same sidebar!). In the code I can see that the .wpb_widgetised_coulumn only exists on the homepage. On all the other pages the sidebar resides within a div called “span4 column_conatiner td-post-sidebar” (as seen in the picture).
Is there a way to target that one as well? Since I would like the same colorscheme in the sidebar on all pages.

Hi, is it possible to have the “Homepage – full post featured” Newsmag style to the Newspaper theme? This would be really awesome.
I want to offer on my website post promotion for companies. For example they can place their advertising post on homepage for 1 week and I’ll get paid for that.
I’ve created similar screen with photoshop. I don’t want to make exactly like this, but I want to fix post there for 1 week or several.

Well we tried all the suggestions, but in the end VC and Newsmag combination is broken in our system no matter which combination we try. I have already invested too much time to trying these theme-plugin version combinations and disabling other plugins, trying with different themes.
Also in these changes our ad serving got problematic with theme changes deleting ad zone codes and I had to replace them all. Calculate lost impressions and delivery time of campaigns.
In the end CPU spike was too much pain so we have rolled back to Newsmag 1.6, uninstalled Visual Composer and changed homepage into blogroll.
Theme is great, VC is great but they don’t scale well with lots of traffic. But I still like it, it’s foundations are strong, support staff is working. I hope these problems will be solved in a month, next update etc. and we will be able to use a different homepage design and also keep it fast and bug free.

I am trying to create a separate homepage for individual counties within my website. Although I can create multiple home pages, I am unable to create unique menus for each of them without using a separate domain that I attach to the main website as a tab/link.
Is there any way to create separate menus for each of these counties without using a separate domain?

The theme don’t have an administration panel for your mobile version as it was designed to be responsive so your desktop content will also be present on your mobile version of the site however it will be styled differently.
Unfortunately you also can’t use any plugins to change the the content of your homepage on mobile as the the theme uses shortcodes to build the pages so using a mobile theme would look something like this: http://screencast.com/t/BuPzzgSiu ..as the need of VC plugin is required to interpret the shortcodes.
We also plan to improve the mobile version of the theme and build a system which will allow customization and control of your mobile content.

The big slider shows up twice because you use the Homepage – bg .. template which adds a big slider to your page by default which shows posts from the featured category. This slider dons’t have much customization available however, you can only change it’s bg color or add an image:

The Big Slide shows up twice on my homepage but when I go to classic view, only one slide appears. If I delete the code that I can see for the “Big Slide” that is visible then I am not able to edit the one that is visible on the homepage because no code is visible eighteen in Backend editing or Classic view editing.

I would like you to ask you some questions:

2. How I can change the gray background color on the footer of the same page?
3. On homepage how to disable the hyperlink on block titles, make entire background of .block-title the same color and change the color and padding of ajax arrows?
4. How to make the category article display view not to show images, eg as block 10 that displays only the titles?
5. How to make a specific block 10 on homepage to have overflow-y and max witdh?
6. Is there a way to make a featured post on big slider sticky, so to stay there even if it is very old?
7. What is the minimum resolution that a featured image should have to fit on every block and slider?

Maybe you did not understand me. You already use the sidebar from homepage(default) also on your event posts, just that appear this issue with date. You can try to change the sidebar for your posts(theme’s templates) from Theme Panel > Categories > each category(this sidebar will also appear on post from that category): http://screencast.com/t/H9PzO5ZOEdQd And the default sidebar will appear only on your event post and you can add widgets that will not display date for example: http://screencast.com/t/9P2OOhIJH – http://screencast.com/t/xNRn5CQc
You cannot change the sidebar for your event post, so those will use theme’s default sidebar, but you can set a custom sidebar for category pages, posts, pages so I think this is the best and easiest solution.

If you have custom modifications to the theme files you ca take a look and see what files we change until latest update and update only that files. Anyway we have made many changes till version 1.7.
If you don’t have any modifications to the files please follow this guide to update and use FTP method(also make a backup of your current theme installation, so you can revert if something goes wrong): https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ and also update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder.
In 1.5 theme’s version we have renamed some shortcodes:
– td_ad_box -> td_block_ad_box
– td_authors -> td_block_authors
– td_homepage_full_1 -> td_block_homepage_full_1
– td_popular_categories -> td_block_popular_categories
– td_video_vimeo -> td_block_video_vimeo
– td_video_youtube -> td_block_video_youtube
– td_text_with_title -> td_block_text_with_title
– td_slide -> td_block_slide
– td_social_counter -> td_block_social_counter
So the renamed widgets have to be re added to each sidebar after this update. Make sure that you backup your database and if possible get the widget list from your sidebars.

I have the same problem, using Visual Composer 4.3.5 with Newsmag 1.7 and I can’t edit Homepage anymore. Recent versions of VC are problematic too, they increase server CPU usage too much. Thankfully tagdiv staff sent me VC 4.3.5 and it worked very well until Newsmag 1.7.
Now even if I return to Newsmag 1.6 or 1.5, VC doesn’t show up in editing pages anymore. I have tried deleting it and reinstalling it. Visual Composer works with WP default 2015 theme but now with Newsmag anymore.
Any idea about this? It renders homepage but can’t edit anymore, same problem with the thread.

As you can see I am using “Home Page post” in visual composer to give a full width image for the front page.
I really want this style but the excellent look that it gives on a large desktop vs smaller laptops like a mac book 13 or 15 inch is concerning me.
What you end up with is a full picture and the article title below the bottom of the screen. This cannot be the case.
Is it possible this full width picture can be made responsive to give the same look on smaller screens as it does on the larger screens? (covering only the upper 60% of the screen)

The icons in the home page are not displayed properly (search button,next/previous button in Trending, Social buttons in the Footer info).

I went from 1.4 to 1.6 with zero problems last week.
Last night I upgraded site from 1.4 to 1.7.
Only issue I had was NORMAL issues of some of the sidebars getting reset (meaning some of the widgets didn’t save); and had to “resave” the homepage just to reset it. All settings normally carry over due to the built in “transient” settings of WordPress. Everything else was exactly as I’d left it.
You should also be regularly doing backups of your site, theme settings, etc.
If you made custom changes to the core files (e.g., style.css etc.) you would, of course, need to apply those changes to the new files.
1.7 works fine with couple of minor issues, depending on if your hosting co is running old php tech which is really somewhat deprecated.
So far only bugs I’ve had are one spacing issue in a stock WP recent posts widget, and the modules in Visual Composer won’t let me filter by any author except myself.
Everything ELSE is working fine for me in 1.7, but SOME people are having some weird issues which are common with all WordPress site changes/updates like this. Main issue is the use of some code in the theme which is not playing well with OLDER versions of php (we are running PHP Version 5.4.22).
So, check the version of PHP you have … if 5.4.22 or newer, should be ‘mostly’ fine.
OR: wait for a dot revision of 1.7.1 next week, I’m guessing.

The mobile version of your site contains the same content as your homepage dose on desktop but styled different.
At the moment thew theme doesn’t have settings to change the mobile version content or layout so this is only possible with custom modifications.
We can’t offer custom work now so if you really need this I suggest you hire a developer or a freelancer to help you with this.
We plan to change the mobile system/layout in the future but we haven’t decided on anything yet so I can provide any info on this.

That condition is only applying on post pages so it can’t affect the unique art feature on homepage.
Not sure how that could be the issue of duplicated posts on your homepage. Please also test this without using any plugins, leave active just the Visual Composer plugin empty caches and try again.
