Good idea to visit and explore all the settings panels in the main WordPress “settings” section as these control the main WordPress install – the theme is just the icing on the cake, but you still need to check the other ingredients. The documentation on the WordPress site is super helpful in explaining what each section of the settings panel is actually for, and good thing to bookmark:

I’m not likely the best source of help on this at the moment, as I just installed my first instance of WooCommerce yesterday; still figuring it out 🙂

Yes. I’ve got Newspaper v4.5 and VC v4.3.4 installed on a fresh install of WordPress 4.0. The only other themes and plugins are the default WordPress theme and Akismet.

In case I didn’t include this previously:

In your WordPress Settings, you specify the WordPress address and the site address. Those are added in your database, and every time the developer calls it in the template, it is running a database query.

By adding these in your wp-config.php, you are reducing the number of database queries thus increasing your site’s performance.

These settings are also useful if converting your website to “https” once you have SSL cert installed as WordPress can ‘soft-redirect’ any query for http://yourpage to https://yourpage; and it updates the WP Settings general page showing URL, and YOAST SEO picks this up for writing canonical links for https.

In case anybody is on to the more hard core optimization of WP.

I’m actually going to be using/buying a number of things for our install.

I think there are some commercial widgets to do that; I have been looking at them this past week as we’re installing WooCommerce tomorrow (Sat.) on one site.

I’d look first at the sometimes pricey, sometimes free, extensions on the Woo website, and also on codecanyon for anything with good review, sometimes cheaper. There are lots of widgets for things like adding shopping cart to various places, adding content elements to various places, etc.

SOrry I don’t have specific recommendation at the moment … installing my copy tomorrow 🙂 First time I’ve used WooCommerce.

I have tried deactivating all plugins and updating wordpress to 4.0 and still happens.

I hace noticed that in a fresh wordpress 4.0 installation it doesn’t happen.

Maybe some plugins are not being desactivated?

Sorry Lucian, but I have invested 3 days on it but donot find anything which converts it to Hindi. I also followed a couple of tutorials, but I donot find the .mo & .po files for hindi language. Please assist. It’s extremely important.

It seems like I’ll have to contact the author of the plugin, because I installed the WP from scratch, reinstalled the Newsletter theme and disabled all plugins and it still didn’t work as expected.

Although I tried several other plugins they also showed the same result (“less than a minute”).

Well, you can setup as many blogs or sites “inside” of your WordPress install as you want.

Often folks who have a magazine AND a blog, or company AND a blog, simply create a new “category” called …. wait for it …. “blog” 😉
