Hi,

Please check the permissions on your upload folder as suggested. More information here
https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/

The second step is to make modifications to these parameters if needed, according to the guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Hosting providers can do this for you, most do.

Also check what PHP version are you using (should be higher than 5.6), check in the theme system status panel for example. There was a similar case before when using an older PHP version caused problems when installing a demo.

The last step if you have made all the above mentioned changes and the result is the same, is to contact us at the mentioned email address and provide all the necessary information (admin login, FTP access or cPanel if possible).
Also paste a link to this topic so we can identify you.

Thanks

Hi,

1. The sidebar widgets should be moved in the inactive sidebar section
https://www.screencast.com/t/leGAmP4U7la
Uninstalling a demo or installing a different one would be considered like changing the theme I believe. So all the sidebar widgets will be moved in the inactive section, by WordPress, not deleted. Then they have to be re-added in sidebars and the sidebars set again.

2. The menus are reset as well, menus you created won’t be deleted but you will have to set them again from the menu location management setting for example.

3. Only the categories the demo imported will be deleted, along with dummy posts, theme panel settings etc. Uninstalling a demo will remove everything the demo imported, including categories if you installed it with content. Categories you created won’t be removed.

There will be some work to be done when you switch demos, setting sidebars again, the menus etc. I can’t say if something can be done in this matter and stop this from happening.

Thanks

Hi,

Could be an image used by the demo in the theme panel. After installing the demo, go over the theme panel top to bottom and replace demo images with your own.

Be sure to check here – https://www.screencast.com/t/ooaSQxXjmN

Let us know if that solves the mixed content issue.
Thanks

Here’s how I want it to look like http://prntscr.com/ldb5ui

I’m not going to overwrite the settings by installing the demo – so I want to manually make the module look like that. Could you help me out?

P.S: Latest version onboard

Hi.
Hi. I have problem. I’ve installed the principal theme and plugins. But I want to import this template https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_city_news/, and (then) I will activate child theme.
How can I do to install correctly this template https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_city_news/?

I can find this in my dashboard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/.
I am ok with system requirement: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/.
I have Cloud templates in my dashboard but I can’t find the demo content I’d like to add (newspaper_city_news).

Thank you for your answer.

After clicking demo installing button, there is a popup saying:

“INSTALL THE FULL DEMO. Are you sure you want to install the full demo? This will import homepages, sample content with images, backgrounds, template layouts, fonts, colors. Notice: The demo can be fully uninstalled and the system will attempt to rollback to your previous state. Any content, menus and attachment created by the demo are removable via the uninstall button. Please backup your settings to be sure that you don’t lose them by accident.”

However, there is no button to click (to proceed).

Please advise. Thank you.

My website address is https://newstorion.com.
Please be informed that it still showing the old cache after installing demo version.
When I logged in to wordpress and browse the website via “visit site” from admin panel, it shows the new updated demo version.
But when I log out and browsing the website, it still showing the old one.
I would appreciate if you may suggest on this.

Hello Frydenborg,

Yes, if you will uninstall the demo, all of the theme’s layout will be disabled. You should keep it installed if you like it. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Thanks for your understanding!

I’ve also wondered how to change posts width. When I’m using sidebars on post the content is way too boxed in my opinion and I’m looking for ways to space things up a bit.

Like in this post demo: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_fast/2018/08/16/td-post-social-media-marketing-for-franchises-is-meant-for-women/

Even with the sidebar, the content width is great. How do I change this on my site without installing a new demo and importing its settings?

Hi,

If I understand correctly you refer that the demo you import don’t have content, if is so please read this documentation :
https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Thanks.

Hello nowinsa,

First of all, you should make a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data. After you have made this step, you should install the demo you want without dummy content, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/ Notice that all of your created posts are loaded on your database and when a new demo will be installed, the theme automatically recognizes them for your new demo. (style, layout, etc.)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi ersandrino,

Also it could be a matter of permissions for the uploads folder. That is preventing the demo from installing successfully. Try to set the permissions like mentioned here
https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/

Thank you.

Hi KokoShanel,

If I understand correctly you’ll like to install Wine Aroma Demo, if is that you need to go in WP Dashboard Newspaper> Install demo; there you can find it on the right sidebar, it’s the last one ( https://www.screencast.com/t/TKqIrWNxm ), just click on it, then a popup will appear ( read that info ) just click YES, after is done you have install Wine Aroma Demo ( https://www.screencast.com/t/RIy4mvMee96z ).

Also please read this documentation about installing demos: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi,

The process of installing a demo without content will import theme panel settings, custom design for some elements, no dummy content. It will not remove default WordPress categories, that is not supposed to happen.

An exception is if you at some point installed a demo with content, then used the imported demo categories as your own. In this case if you install a new demo the old demo will be removed completely, including the demo categories, posts, pages etc.

I am not familiar with the plugin you mention, could be a problem with the plugin if it’s content is lost. Maybe it got deactivated for some reason when installing the demo. It could also maybe be caused by the theme modifications you mention.

I installed one of your theme demos and after installing an SSL I am getting an error about mixed content. The file in question is http://sasquatters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/1.jpg but when I look for it I cannot locate it. Any ideas?

Thank you.

I got it working by installing the DEMO with content. Then I had to delete all the posts added, media added, and all categories. But my users were notified of the new posts that were added by installing the DEMO. That’s sad!

There should be a solution for the problem as discussed above!

Hello,

I am trying to install City News without Demo on YogeshKhetani.com blog. I applied that. Still not working. As described in the tutorial and videos, it’s not just Click and Install the demos.

I also checked Settings > WP Reading option, this shows up:

https://ibb.co/bUkMPz

What do I need to select?

This tutorial isn’t helpful either: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

I need a solution on why Demos aren’t working! I just want the homepage of any Demos.

Is there something which I need to do in the Template Settings under Theme Panel?

Hi,

We try to only implement useful settings in each theme update, all user requests and suggestions are noted and will be considered. Takes a little to get used to the theme, tagDiv composer and cloud library, but with some practice after a while you will get used to it.
If you have questions you can always create new topics here in the forum, or use the forum search function. Chances are most usual questions are already answered.

Regarding the issue with the demo install, if that message is displayed it could mean that not all the demo files were imported properly.

First thing to check is the theme requirements guide, carefully
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Contact the hosting provider if needed so they can make the required modifications if needed.

Also it could be a matter of permissions for the uploads folder. That is preventing the demo from installing successfully. Try to set the permissions like mentioned here
https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/

Please let us know what you find.
Thanks

Man, this theme is overwhelming! So many options and places for me to make mistakes! I’m slowly starting to get my head wrapped around things. 2 issues I’m having…

1) I’m getting an error message when installing a demo. Says…

“tagDiv importer detected an error. The importer will try to recover and continue to install the demo after you click ok on this dialog.

Steps to troubleshoot:
– Check the permissions on your upload folder
– Please make sure that WP_DEBUG is set to false in wp-config.php
– Contact our support via email contact@tagdiv.com (please provide your product license key)”…

After I click off, it appears to continue installing, but I don’t know if anything is missing.

2. After the demo installs, I can’t delete posts. I get the error message …

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-image-editor-imagick.php on line 354”

Same error message for every other post I try to delete, just a different line #.

I’m not sure how to “check permissions on upload folder” or what it needs to be set to. WP_DEBUG is set to false in config file. I also added the line …

define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’ );

…to the config file after reading another thread, but it doesn’t make any difference. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

See these guides: 1. https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/ 2. https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
You might need to edit the homepage as in step 2 after step 1. (I don’t work here btw)

Hi,

Let’s try to solve the problems you are having.

Should be exactly the same basically, demo vs installed version. The images might be different only. I tried installing it myself, found no problem.

In your case there seems to be some design missing. The projects page also should look exactly like in the demo.

Did you by any chance edit the demo homepage or edited the projects page with WPBakery page builder? These pages are built with the tagDiv composer and only this should be used to edit them.

Thanks

Hello.

The video demo is available. Please check again: https://www.screencast.com/t/kaoYd2gPj
Use ctrl+f and search for “video” in the browser on the demo import page as it’s easier to find.
You can import the demo and all of it;s settings using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Thanks
