Hi,
this issue is caused by the css you added to change the logo width. This css no longer applies to the homepage in newspaper 7 as the logo css was changed.
please use this code instead if you wish to change the logo dimentions:
.td-header-sp-logo img {
width:150px!important;
}

Please notice that when you load the images in your Media Library, the quality of the images is not lost, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/PbQln1nUaD the image will be loaded to the original dimension and then it will be cropped depending on which block/module is used -> http://screencast.com/t/kqxd9ZQJ.
If you need more assistance in this regard, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer your logo and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. Please check our demo version and there you will find the default size for our logo -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ If you want to increase the logo sizes you will have to do some additional customizations through the code and this involve custom work.

1) your social counter is not updated that is why it does not show up. Newspaper 7 requires version 4.1 of the social counter. Please disable and delete files for your current social counter plugin and then install it again from here: http://screencast.com/t/SZshTPHj
2) Please remove any custom css you might have regarding the header or the logo and restore the header to the theme default.

For the icons, please remove any custom css you might have in place as the header css has been changed a bit and a h1 tag was added to the logo for seo purposes.
As for the social counter, you have not updated it. Please make sure you update your plugin by removing you currently installed one (disable and delete files) and install the new version from here: http://screencast.com/t/SZshTPHj

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such a simple option that offers you a way to change the logo corresponding to what type of language you are using, sorry! Unfortunately, the theme does not have such a plugin tested in this regard and we cannot make a recommendation in this regard. If you are using this type of plugin, you will have to adjust it to work as properly with our theme and then if you want to add this option regarding on logo you will have to create a variable which detects the language used by you and depending on what language you are using to change the logo. To do this, you will have to add some conditions in files which are created the logo and add if/else statement -> http://screencast.com/t/NhcXz3vuW As you can see, this is not a simple task and this method involve custom work. So, if you are not aware of the steps which you are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
