If you’re having trouble optimizing via plugin, I would likely contact your hosting provider and optimize your dbase from phpmyadmin or similar outside of wordpress (e.g., command line, or from server side).
But yes… on a 190MB dbase, WP-Optimize clears out on average about 27.5MB of crap, depending on when you do an optimization.
I think the pagespeed insights reference to browswer caching is having
1) expires headers from the server (or via htaccess on Apache, or config file on nginx), which specify a time to live, such as “cache fonts for one week, don’t reload them every time a page loads” … that is the purpose of “browser caching” — same with CSS, images like a logo, javascript, etc. — my settings are in the sticky for pagespeed.
2) remember to have gzip/deflate running on server side, you don’t need plugin for that as the server can compress everything on request
I’m not currently using W3 cache, and frankly I’d leave that off until you get everything else sorted as otherwise you end up caching incomplete pages from the other errors or overloads. Once EVERYTHING else is solid, THEN you would turn on the cache as the LAST thing in the chain.
Hope that helped a little (been there!). 🙂

hi guys
my header ad is misaligned, can you advise how I can get it properly centered without affecting the logo?
http://connecteddigitalworld.com/
thanks
Andrew
Perfect, thx.
Hi,
Please add this CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
.header-logo-wrap img {
max-width: 200px;
}
.header-logo-wrap {
margin-top: 10px;
}
.td-a-rec-id-header {
top: 0px;
}
Thanks
Thank you. I have found my problem. I was never using the Toolkit provided by Envato. I was stuck on version 1.1. Once I used the toolkit, it allowed me to update the theme. However, I can use the customize panel, but cannot edit my logo or footer anymore. I’m guessing Either it is placed in a different area or everything did not update properly. I am now trying to edit my logo and footer on my website and can no longer find where I can update from “all rights reserved 2013” to “all rights reserved 2014.”
Hi Guys,
I’d like to make our logo it’s native size using Head Style 1 and also reduce the amount of white space around the logo.
Please can I have the CSS to do this.

Thx.
Dave

Hi,
Please change the span classes like here: http://screencast.com/t/YxZYV9ZV This will enlarge the space there and the logo will fit http://screencast.com/t/tbyUjgf9
Thanks
Hi,
Should work http://screencast.com/t/BekBMiwAD
Please make sure you add and have both custom CSS I gave you in Theme Panel > Custom CSS. I will add them again here:
@media (max-width: 767px){
.header-logo-wrap img {
display: block !important;
}
.header-logo-wrap {
display: block !important;
}
}
Thanks
Thanks for the update but that’s still not working 🙁
any other ideas?
Hi,
Please add this custom CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
@media (max-width: 767px){
.header-logo-wrap {
display: block !important;
}
}
Thanks
Hi,
Please add this custom CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
.td_ul_login,
.td_ul_logout {
margin-right: 12px !important;
}
.td_ul_logout li {
display: inline;
}
.td_ul_logout li a:before {
top: 6px;
}
We will fix this in the next theme update.
Thanks
i’ve added the code but still no logo on mobile
Hi,
The issue is because you don’t use a logo at 300x100px size. If you can’t make your logo at that sizes use this CSS to align the banner, add it in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
.td-a-rec-id-header {
top: 25px !important;
}
Thanks
Hi,
I have checked your site and saw that you don’t have any menu, this is the reason way you don’t have any logo on your mobile. On mobile the logo drops down in the menu bar, so if you don’t have a menu bar you don’t have a logo.
To fix this add this custom CSS in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.header-logo-wrap img {
display: block !important;
}
}
Thanks
Hi,
I’m looking for a solution for this. We are still using some older upload api from wordpress and maybe it’s time to switch to the new one.
Radu O.
Hi,
You can go to Appearance -> Menu and in your Home Page menu item -> Navigation Label section and add your image source like this: http://screencast.com/t/NpbSx2vXF
Image Source should look like this:
<img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/logo-top2.png" />
Thanks
Hi i didnt realise until now, but my logo is not displaying on mobiles.
It is set on style 1 (logo + ad) menu with the menu hidden.
Please have a look http://www.factsar.com
Yep same issue I have with many themes, browser, etc.
Again, simply copy the URL for the image in your repository, then paste that URL in the box for the logo, press save. If you go back to the logo options, it will now be there. No FTP required.
I see this with some themes from major companies, and some themes do not. It’s an Ajax/Java issue between the WP panel, theme panel, and browser.
I’m sure Radu et al will look at that issue, but it’s fairly common, and can change from each version of browser, theme and WordPress, in my experience.
Hi!
I would like to add a effect to the Sticky Menu that will work like this: http://screencast.com/t/FjsP5CrpmP
It is hard to explain so I just recorded it. You can see the effect live on: http://www.androidcentral.com/
The logo dissolves when a user keep on navigating down, and when the navigate a bit up, the menu shows up. I hope it helps.
Thanks!! please let me know if its possible.
Thanks for your reply. I use other themes on other sites. Themes I used include Steam, Orion Press, Bucket, SmartMag and they all open the WP-media manager to manage logo, fevicon etc and it works fine. It’s only Newpaper theme which has this issue 🙂
Since we have 2 editors who manage content, they are not at all versed with FTP and WP interface is what they are used to.
As you can see in video below I was on Explicit theme and when clicked on logo upload option it opened the wp-media manager
Best
Swapnil
This has been an issue with all themes for years, not just Newspaper.
We’ve found it’s simpler to FTP up the logo, then put in the URL to logo. such as mysite/images/logo2014_600x200.png (or whatever), then save, them reload page and the link will be there. Super annoying. I gave up on the upload function looooong time ago.
Not sure that helps, but it’s what I do on my dozen or so websites now. Especially if using Internet Explorer on Win7.
If you don’t want to FTP, you can still upload logo with media manager, make note of URL, then put in the full URL in the theme panel(s) for logo.

Hi,
When one want to update logo it quite challenging. When we click on logo management window (which also tackles fevicon) the window is broken as you can’t see the ‘search option. Check the attached image. Is it not possible to use the WP-Media window to manage images for logo and fevicon? We change logo for events like July 4th etc and it’s impossible to manage logos.
Can you please fix this?
Thanks.
Hi,
Please try this custom CSS, add it in Theme Panel -> Custom CSS
.td_ul_login, .td_ul_logout {
display: none;
}
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-menu-wrap, .td_ul_login,
.td_ul_logout {
display: inline !important;
text-align: right;
}
.td-header-menu-wrap .span9 {
display: none !important;
}
.td-header-menu-wrap .span3 {
background-color: #4b4b4b;
height: 26px;
}
.td_ul_login,
.td_ul_logout {
margin: 0 8px 0 0 !important;
}
}
Hope this works
Thanks
Hi,
Add the following code on the theme panel.
<div>
<a href="http://google.com"><img src="https://www.google.com/images/srpr/logo11w.png"/></a>
</div>
Replace http://google.com with the link that you want the ad to be redirected and replace https://www.google.com/images/srpr/logo11w.png with the image link that you want to show.
Hope that helps.
Thanks.
