Hello !
Please make sure that you have activated the proper thumbs for the mobile theme. The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.
This can be found in here: https://www.screencast.com/t/N18dR3qZrh
After activating the thumbnail sizes you need to regenerate your thumbnails using a plugin. Check this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
Thank you !
Hello!
It seems you have installed Mobile theme plugin. If you created the mobile pages with TagDiv Composer, then when you install Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin.
The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with it’s own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Better deactivate the plugin and see the results.
Thank you!
Thanks once again. I found the conflicting plugin. The composer is working fine now. Will appreciate a CSS code for the condition below:-
1. I noticed that the single post image captions are in Italics and video captions are in normal style in both desktop and mobile version of Newspaper theme. Is there a CSS code possible on single posts which can give me uniformity and control on all captions (both image and video inserts) in terms of font size, colour, style and alignment?
Thanks in advance. I really appreciate the help from Newspaper team and have started to love the theme as well.
Hi celhil, if you are sing the latest theme version, Newspaper v4.9.6 then the mobile theme can be disable on pages and posts -> https://i.imgur.com/SNSa4oo.png this option is available in Gutenberg editor, you can check more in our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The Newspaper theme has another option for mobile , this is the mobile page/template, but for the moment this is not optimize for amp.
To migrate from a theme to another is quite tricky, for example if you use a demo and you made some changes on that demo content, this will be lost (when a demo is uninstalled/change the content of that demo is removed pages/posts/categories), you must duplicate that content to make sure that after you migrate everything is ok. Also if you have settings made in theme files, those will be lost, if you use a child theme, this need to be changed. As a conclusion, it can be done, but you must be very carefully.
The Cloudflare APO was not tested with the theme, but we have t on our list, unfortunately, I do not know to say a date when this will be tested.
Thank you!
Tried putting code into theme panel custom CSS. Unfortunately it didn’t work. If you look at my site on your mobile you’ll see the icon box problem – wagglydogs.com

Thanks, in advance. I really appreciate all the help from Newspaper team. Thanks again

Hi, I created the mobile page and I inserted it in the new menu, but once finished and inserted it in: theme panel>mobile theme> heather>main menu; I always get the desktop page from my mobile, and the page that I had created for the mobile appears as a category and once I open it it is empty. What did I do wrong?
Hello,
When using responsive theme in mobile, the header menu for pages other that my home page cannot be clicked. This is the same also with the search icon.
I am not sure why this happened as I have set the Header Menu in the Theme Panel to display a drop down menu that I created through Apperance->Menu. You can access my website through KeselamatanKeluarga.com.
Thanks
Hi! I installed a pro theme life news and filled it with new posts. But I don’t understand why the mobile version for tablets and smartphones does not look on my website (http://bali.click/) like it looks on the demo website (https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_life_news/). There’s only the column with teasers of the last news reflected on my website. But on the demo website there are all the blocks with different formatting.
Have I done something wrong during the process of installation? Not installed some important functions? Or I need somehow to build the tablet and mobile version from scratch by myself?
To be honest the way the mobile version looks was one of the criteria for me to choose this exact theme. Very sad that it does not work properly.
i already use amp on mobile as default. It doesn’t redirect to ?amp, but google knows that its there on separate urls, so uses amp versions for mobile search. But for Core Web Vitals in search console he is using default theme, not amp version, and shows bad speed timings. Therefore i thought why not just redirect both mobile and desktop visitors to amp only versions, its very fast
Hey guys,
taking into account that new google speed ranking factors are coming, is it possible to use amp version of pages as default on desktop? The mobile theme scales OK, and is very fast via amp. I guess i could set up redirects for each page to redirect to ?amp version, not sure if that would work. Maybe some other suggestions?
Hello!
This situation appear when you are using the mobile theme plugin and the cache plugin that you have does not feature options for a separate mobile theme plugin therefore do not know when to deliver the mobile version and when to deliver the desktop version.
We tested with our theme the WP Super Cache and with the settings from our guide this is working correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
I include a plugin for the mobile version. After the user opens the site on the phone, the mobile version also opens on the computer. What could be the problem?

Hi Calin,
on our site we are using NewsMag a couple of years. The problem is, that our score on PageSpeed Insights for mobile is terrible. Now I’m testing the mobile theme in a staging area and the options for the mobile theme are very limited. For example there is no possibility to disable the mobile theme on the startpage, or create an own theme for mobile.
In considering that google will publish the new ranking factors in may 2021, I think it would be recommendable to put more energy into the mobile version. And this is only possible with the Newspaper Theme, right?
If it is so, then I think I must change the Theme from Newsmag to Newspaper.
Can you tell me, how I should proceed to change the theme from Newsmag to Newspaper?
It is possible to migrate everything (Layout/Pages/Settings) from Newsmag to Newspaper?
We are using Cloudflare as CDN and it is absolutely necessary, that we are using the Cloudflare APO before May. Does the Newspaper theme supports the Cloudflare APO for desktop and mobile theme?
Thank you in advanced
Andre
Hello !
Can you please send us a screenshot of how mobile theme plugin was implemented ? Also make sure to clear your cache. Indeed at the moment your website does not have mobile theme.
Please follow our guide here and make sure that all the steps have been followed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you !
Hello !
The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme.
You will have to recreate your pages into the Mobile editor or completely disable the mobile theme. The mobile editor will not render shortcodes !
Also you can disable mobile theme on certain pages or posts by following this setting:
Please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Mobile theme plugin can be disabled from Newspaper Plugins as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/LnkZCEVC
You are now able to create mobile viewport templates as you can see in our guide here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
! Atention ! If you are using mobile templates you will have to remove the mobile theme plugin and also at the moment AMP is not working with mobile templates.
Thank you !
Hello,
If you use the mobile theme plugin and this appears on the desktop or on the tablet, in most cases is a cache problem. We recommend using WP Super Cache plugin with the settings from our guide this is working correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/, and also please use this option => https://www.screencast.com/t/Yo8UJ7mCwLgh
Hope this helps you!

Hi,
If you use the mobile menu, then on mobile will be display thumbs with “265×198” and the “741×486” size, if you want you can check all details about mobile theme plugin in our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
just to add, mobile theme has already been enabled for the pages. AMP version of pages are working fine, but non-AMP is showing up the non-mobile theme.
Hi,
I have enabled mobile + AMP on my site http://www.allsgpromo.com.
However, mobile theme is not showing when navigating to the site http://www.allsgpromo.com directly on mobile.
Furthermore, the load more button of the non mobile theme is broken.
Kindly advise please!
It was working perfectly fine before until now.
Hello!
You can set this from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Mobile theme -> Grids.
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
Hi,
It seems that the mobile theme template is also being shown for iPad and other tablet viewports. Even tablets (iPad) in landscape which are at 1024px are being shown the mobile theme. However, for most websites this isn’t really the desired behavior. Especially when using columns for desktop and tablet design and single columns for mobile. Because right now I still need to use a lot of css and display:none to make tablet look like desktop and give mobile it’s own unique design.
Could this be disabled somewhere in the theme files so that the mobile theme is only showing for screen < 768px?
Hello Calin and Team,
Hope you are working on this request.
Google PageSpeed Insights is giving bad score if I’m using desktop theme for mobile, so I have changed again to Mobile Theme and the score is looking good, but I couldn’t use the Cloudflare APO due to above issue.
Hope you know that Google is going to do the Mobile first indexing from May 2021, so it’s very important for NewsPaper theme users.
I request you to follow-up with your developers and bring the update in upcoming release.
Thanks
Giri
