The way Speed Booster improves site’s page speed it’s moving some CSS and js resources, which usually are loaded in the header, to the footer, such that the browser can loads the content faster. Please note that the plugin was intended for the advanced user, it requires modifications on the code to add new resources (js and CSS) which are moved to the bottom of the page and conflicts may appear because some plugins may cause issues when you try to move their resources at the page bottom. To avoid conflicts we decided to keep the Speed Booster active only for a limited number of plugins, which are tested and works fine even if their resources are moved at page bottom. Checking a plugin’s behavior when Speed Booster is active can be done by adding it on allowed plugins list: http://screencast.com/t/dCMffJFq

Hi,

Cloudflare cache should work as long as you don’t change the query on each request. You could use the browser Network tool(on Chrome) to check if a file is cached – http://screencast.com/t/pOS62ffqR0L
The version query is present on all wordpress themes, it’s not a specific Newspaper behavior.
If your query string is changed on each request check the plugins, you may have one which does that.

Some proxies may be set not to cache links which come with query strings, but if you use cloudflare you shouldn’t worry about this.

Speed booster is not related to proxy or caching, it just moves the css and js at the page bottom. To avoid any possible conflict we added a check which enables it only for the plugins with which it was tested. You could try to enable it for all plugins, for this just delete or comment the following code – http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh

Note that the Speed Booster plugin disable itself when an incompatible plugin it’s installed. We added this measure to avoid conflicts with the plugins that won’t allow to move their CSS/js resources at page bottom. 1)The Block 5 use module 3, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/4YfTmYY6l If you want to change the Block 5, you have to change this module. You can reduce the padding-bottom in your block with the CSS code below but the left-right you do not change because you will damage the layout. The width is fixed and you cannot change of this without damage.

2)Unfortunately, this animation does not come from the theme. If you want to remove this feature you have to remove the option from js. file from Visual Composer and it is not a simple task, sorry.

The theme code was tested and optimized for best performance, we have a lot of clients and the theme works well on a large variety of hosts.
First, please make sure that you use the recommended server configuration for Newspaper theme, you can check our documentation for more details: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

There are lots of factors that influence the site’s page-sped. I suggest you first try this without any other plugins active, leave just VC plugin active the check again.
To improve your server response time you can try to reduce the number of queries (fewer plugins, fewer blocks on page, reduce the elements which use ajax requests/pagination like mega menus/load more/infinite load), also consider using a cache plugin, we recommend the WP super cache plugin with the following configuration: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
To improve the loading speed look the MySQL query cache: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/query-cache.html we also use it on our demo.

Also, you can use the speed booster to move the js and CSS at the bottom of the page, eliminate render-blocking, but not for all plugins. Check the System Status if the speed booster is active if you use other plugins than the tested ones. 1) you can make the footer narrower with custom css:

2) Unfortunately the big grids have a fixed design. Sections of them cannot be removed as other sections will not fit properly anymore. In order to achieve this you will need custom work.
3) If you use a custom ad you can have any dimension you want to it. Simply add an image with the size of the content width using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads/

you can do it by altering the theme files. There is no other way except hard-coding it.
You need to edit td_module_14.php and change a few things. You need to move the category code under the image code and place it inside a div so you can target it with css for positioning
