Hello,
Unfortunately, we don’t have a code for Nginx fast CGI to recognize which theme to serve.
Also, to increase the page speed you can check these similar topics for more solutions:

By the way, we have such a great result with this new update and with our new tool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnkVapqhIHc
Our tool is running only on normal pages and not for posts or categories for example.
“This custom tool performs an automatic test to find missing CSS rules applied by user interaction. Moreover, you can manually interact with a chosen section/component from the page while the tool records all the involved CSS. It will generate the final CSS file for this page and also will split the rules in Critical CSS to be loaded in the website’s header.” ( https://tagdiv.com/whats-new-in-the-newspaper-theme-10-4-update/ )
Our tool is running only on normal pages and not for posts or categories for example.
Thank you!
I’m having problems with Nginx fast cgi as it server mobile pages on desktop.
Also, I can’t pass the google core vitals test no matter what I do.
I mean it’s an Apache server with Nginx caching
I have a dedicated server with Nginx but I got keywords dropping badly cause of this in an attachment. So I wonder what is better to put Nginx or super cache as I was testing something and didn’t have any as the server is pretty good, but something happened and nothing is good anymore
So what is the best to use cause seems like posts are loading slow. Nginx or super cache or both for this theme?
Hello,
You need to ask your host how to implement cache on Nginx.
as far as I know, Nginx usually uses as a cache plugin, Litespeed and it can interfere with the theme when don’t recognize mobile theme plugins and mobile pages, for example, but you can try it.
We recommend using WP Super Cache plugin https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also, please do not ask the same question on several topics.
Thank you!
How do you implement the cache on nginx?

How do you implement the cache on nginx?
Hey,
I want to share something and let everyone know that it is actually possible to get a good score and have your website load fast.
See screenshots.
I am using a Newspaper theme and have Adsense enabled (which slows down the site).
1. You are better off with a VPS rather than shared hosting. (I host on Digital Ocean, With Ubuntu 20.04, PHP 7.4, Mysql 8, and Nginx).
2. Follow the instructions given here by the support team. Although for me, I used WP-Rocket, and everything changed.
3. I use the mobile plugin for mobile, and that has improved a lot.
4. Focus on actual speed rather than these metrics, and you are good.
Thanks.

Hello,
Is possible to be from the firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module that blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
Also, you can check this guide https://www.basezap.com/fixed-403-forbidden-error-on-nginx-web-server/, please make sure you all theme requirements are set as in our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ in special please make sure this code is set in .htaccess => https://www.screencast.com/t/D3i2ZA7K
Thank you!
Hello,
I think so, the best solution is to clear the cache from time to time from the Nginx, (if you want to use that cache).
Thank you!
Yes, when I clear cache in nginx it works ok. But after some time, if Nginx caching is Enabled it’s going back to the mobile theme on the desktop?
unable to save theme settings from backend but saving from frontend works
I have deactivated all plugins excluding tagdiv still same issue.
All Server requirements passed.
Tested on PHP7.4 and 7.0 nginx
Yes, there is nginx caching enabled. But when I disable it my page is much worse on gtmetrix for some reason?
Hi
Question 1. I know the newspaper license is valid for 1 site, so can i uninstall it from one and use it on another website? I need to change the host (upgrade to a VPS setup) and my primary website doesn’t seem to migrate properly due to previous host limitations.
Question 2. WP Rocket is a paid caching plugin but I prefer to use it because of added functionality and ease of configuration. Is the Newspaper theme compatible with WP Rocket?
Question 3. Does Newspaper theme work fine with Cloudflare CDN?
Question 4. Open Litespeed or Nginx for reverse proxy on apache server, is the theme compatible with them? Open Lite Speed uses its own caching plugin called Lite Speed Cache. Is Newspaper theme compatible with this cache plugin?
I will appreciate a faster response. I have just lost my 6 months of work with my previous site and am starting afresh. Your support will be highly appreciated.
Hi,
Please check if you don’t have some cache on the Nginx server.
Thank you!
Actually, I’m using super Cache.
Is it maybe a problem that I have Nginx on the server?

Hello guys,
I have rebuilt my server stack to update and migrate my WordPress install to a new server and and have imported my WordPress data to my new site and have everything set-up, however when I repointed the server to the new URL, the front page totally stopped working.
http://staging.tech-mag.co.uk/
Wordpress 5.6.2
Newsmag 4.9.6
I have followed the instructions on WordPress’ and Bitnami’s site (I’m using their stack) to get my staging site running normally on a new URL here.
https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/#relocate-method
https://docs.bitnami.com/installer/apps/wordpress/administration/configure-domain/
So after following this I can now access the wordpress admin panel.
So in the admin panel if I switch to the WordPress default theme, my website appears and I can see some content, however swtching back to the Newsmag theme, the site times out and just won’t connect.
I even tried this specific part of the WordPress guide which asks me to add in the update_option values to the theme functions.php file, which I have tried to no avail.
https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/#edit-functions-php
The problem seems to be with the theme, but I’m not sure how to correct it.
Can you help?
Regards,
Michael
Hello,
Usually, this problem appears from the cache. Is possible can be from the cache that is provided by your host (on nginx server with fast_cgi cache)
Thank you!
I have crossed my hands.
There is a strange behavior with my mega menu. When i hover mega menu subcategories this loads only the first (right) subcategory but then all subcategories load the same posts from same subcategory. This only happens when i am not logged in.
I checked the ajax Post request and seems right:
https://anagnostis.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?td_theme_name=Newspaper&v=10.3.9.1
I mean that request variable “td_filter_value” has the right subcategory id, that should be rendered in my mega menu, but the response is always the same subcategory.
This is a wordpress site with nginx server and fast_cgi cache.
The strange is that i still have the same site in another domain for test, with exactly the same content and same server settings and mega menu works fine.
Please help. Site is the above mentioned https://anagnostis.org
I guess I found a solution – I changed nginx to apache server. Templates start working, still I needed to replace home page. It’s definitely a problem and it does not appear in the help link. You should investigate this. I sure hope it won’t happen when I move site to production.
Thank you for now.
Multumesc!
Hi,
Security settings at my host (nginx server) cause a conflict with Tagdiv Composer (text editor not working anymore). Can you please tell me which of the following rules will conflict with Tagdiv Composer:
## WP Defender
# Stop php access except to needed files in wp-includes
location ~* ^/{FOLDER}wp-includes/.*(?<!(js/tinymce/wp-tinymce))\.php$ {
internal; #internal allows ms-files.php rewrite in multisite to work
}
# Specifically locks down upload directories in case full wp-content rule below is skipped
location ~* /{FOLDER}(?:uploads|files)/.*\.php$ {
deny all;
}
# Deny direct access to .php files in the /wp-content/ directory (including sub-folders). # Note this can break some poorly coded plugins/themes, replace the plugin or remove this block if it causes trouble
location ~* ^/{FOLDER}wp-content/.*\.php$ {
deny all;
}
# Turn off directory indexing
autoindex off;
# Kills the LetsEncrypt acme challenge
# # Deny access to htaccess and other hidden files
# location ~ /{FOLDER}\. {
# deny all;
# }
# Deny access to wp-config.php file
location = /{FOLDER}wp-config.php {
deny all;
}
# Deny access to revealing or potentially dangerous files in the /wp-content/ directory (including sub-folders)
location ~* ^/{FOLDER}wp-content/.*\.(md|exe|sh|bak|inc|pot|po|mo|log|sql)$ {
deny all;
}
## WP Defender - End ##
Thanks!
I meant remove mode-less.js and text.js errors following your advice, seeking for a plugin conflict and enable and disable td plugins and rising memory.
Theme is up to date because it was a migration (coming from IonMag) and it was tested in a vagrant machine without any of these new problems.
Child theme package was extracted from last update.
I must to recheck everything if nginx pagespeed module could be messing in these issues. I’ll update here as soon as have some time to test it.
Thank you Calin and have a nice weekend.
