This theme was great, especially the previous AMP plugin. The ad spots were well optimized for mobile. Now I am confused, should I turn all my Adsense Ad Units to AMP Units or leave them as they are.

I could use AMP Ads for AMP and responsive ads for the mobile plugin. Now they are combined and you have to serve just ads. This has led to revenue loss.

For those of you using AO and seeing the following amp error from Google:
The mandatory tag \'head > style[amp-boilerplate]\' is missing or incorrect.

A simple fix is to edit:
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/mobile/header-amp.php

Replace:
<html <?php language_attributes(); ?>>

With:
<html <?php language_attributes(); ?> amp>

Hi,

I solved it. It was a cache conflict as I am using SG Optimizer plugin as the web is in Site Ground.

The conflict was with “Minimizar archivos CSS”.

Thank you for your attention

Hello,

I am trying to optimise the speed of my site.

One of the issue I have is with the Instagram widget provided in the footer.

The error I get is that the images are resized in HTML or CSS. Is there a way to optimize this ?

They say “Serving scaled images could save 351.7KiB (87% reduction).”

thanks

I’ve add in the cloud header an image ad https://labussolanews.com/.
It works on all device but, on mobile, i had to create another ad box with a different ad size (why the header doesn’t load on mobile? I had to create a different header for the mobile. Does it work separately?).

the strange thing is that it seems that the ad image I inserted for desktop and tablet, is also loading on the mobile, despite having ticked the “hide on phone” option. I created a separate ad for the mobile that works perfectly but I don’t understand why the other is loaded anyway.

This is displayed on google PageSpeed Insights which tells me that the .gif is slowing down the mobile view (but i’ve hide it on mobile).

then I always have the problem that google page speed gives me very low performance (about 22) on mobile, which is why I would at least want to remove this useless upload…and maybe some advice on how to optimize the page because I don’t seem to have over-loaded the site …

Don’t tell me to activate the mobile theme because at the moment it is useless, because it remove to much things…

How is it possible to not have td-composer plugin rendering on every single post?

These jqueries seem to load on all the posts:

js_files_for_ace | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/css-live/assets/external/ace/ace.js
js_files_for_ace_ext_language_tools | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/css-live/assets/external/ace/ext-language_tools.js
js_files_for_ace_ext_searchbox | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/css-live/assets/external/ace/ext-searchbox.js
js_files_for_live_css | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/assets/js/js_files_for_live_css.min.js
js_files_for_plugin_live_css | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/assets/js/js_files_for_plugin_live_css.min.js

and these styles

td-plugin-multi-purpose | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/td-multi-purpose/style.css
td_live_css_frontend | https://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/css-live/assets/css/td_live_css_frontend.css

I only need the td-composer to load on the home page and the archive pages.

Can this be done (to optimize for speed)?

Good afternoon.

In the description of the template it says this:

Optimized for mobile – The theme will make sure your website will look beautiful on all devices. It’s responsive and retina ready

Thank you.

A litte heads up for anyone who searches for this. Autoptimize was behind the problem. When the cache light-thingie keeps blinking red for too long, no new articles will be published. However, its fixed, all is good and well.

Guys,
We are really not satisfied with the current AMP setup. The Old AMP Plugin was nice, But we ub=nderstand the issues of the future support of that plugin. The new mobile theme does lack many features like auto post loading, etc.. and most of don’t use mobile theme plugin. AMP without mobile theme plugin is just the ordinary WordPress AMP plugin. So, It will be great if you guys can create an Updated AMP Plugin or an AMP integration with the theme. Your theme competitors are likely to have their AMP setup working. And if possible please optimize the theme like fewer requests, less page size.

We always love Newspaper Theme ❤

Hi,

You can try to optimize your mobile responsive theme but if you will use the mobile plugin, you will see better results because the theme will not load more resources.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized.

Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
Also, check all of your Ad Spots and if you have entered any suspicious code through them, remove all of them and check the results without them.

One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/

Basically, these are the theme requirements
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Another useful guide for increasing the page speed can be found here -> https://kinsta.com/blog/google-pagespeed-insights/

Lately, Google Page Speed Insight seems to change the layout and is not always reliable.

For minify CSS you can use this online tool -> https://www.minifier.org/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

I have checked your website and I saw that you have a delay with your loading page. You can try to remove the start transition effect using the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area. Also, please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized.

.td-js-loaded .tdc-row-divider, .td-js-loaded .td-element-style{
-webkit-transition:none;
transition:none;
}

Also, if you want to increase the page speed, you sohuld check the following useful topic from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/slow-3/

Thanks for oyur understanding!

Hi Calin, thanks again for a prompt response.
I have disabled my hosting cache plug-in (SG optimizer), and installed WP super cache as recommended, with all the recommended settings. There is a small REDUCTION in the speed score (from 18 to 15). It is clear that the cache plugin I was using before is at least as good, in fact slightly better than WP Super cache. The issue is ENTIRELY the TDC template loading. If you go to the site http://www.ethical-intelligence.com you can see the header does not load immediately, but the rest of the site, including the footer, loads more or less instantly. The TDC template takes a further 1-2 seconds to load. The issue is ENTIRELY with the header template, and not with the rest of the site, or the footer, or the caching. Switch to the old header (the Theme Panel version) and loading is MUCH faster. It is very frustrating that the TDC header template problem is not being addressed. Can you look specifically at the TDC header performance on this site?
