Hello DSLRMZ,

Please keep in mind that our theme has two possible ways to display the theme for mobile devices. Default mobile version which displays the same content of your website but structured and optimized for media queries for better results and another way is if you will use the Mobile theme. For more information about this, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Thanks for your understanding!

Bump does nothing except push things DOWN in the reply queue.

You can learn to minify your main style.css using minification tools online. Google is a great resource for finding things. I use this : https://cssminifier.com/

And yes, if you use ANYTHING loaded externally, like Google Fonts, JetPack, social “likes numbers” on your page, weather widget, ad networks, etc. — all slow down your page as it has to “go fetch” stuff for page to load. So, choosing to NOT use Google fonts is one option.

Using fewer modules per page; meaning no more than 10 thumbnails on sidebar and footer COMBINED will speed things up a lot.

Per GTMetrix
1) optimize your images
2) Adding time to live settings for browser caching, for Woff/Woff2 to your htaccess file as mimetypes is advisable; the other items you can’t do much about as they are on other sites — and will impact your score
3) loading all those elements from Amazon ad services’ CDN is slowing you down
4) removing query strings is advisable

That stuff from share-a-sale is badly optimized.

Generally when setting up your site

* test without ads or external items to get ‘actual’ score for your post page
* then turn on ad systems and external stuff one by one until you can stomach how this affects your side adversely — your ad units are NOT part of the theme so you should complain to them about crappy optimization!

( I don’t work here. )

Hi guys,
https://cadarmarius.ro/ – here is where i installed the theme.

In the settings of eww optimizer i can chose what thumbails to be generated on upload and optimize, and what not. I disabled all except this ones :

thumbnail – 150×150
medium – 300×300
large – 1024×1024

td_218x150 – 218×150
(used in sidebar for list latest articles on posts page)

td_533x261 – 533×261
(used to list articles on homepage and categories, and sidebar on posts)

td_1068x580 – 1068×580 (used for slider on homepage)

pdf-full

Since i installed the ewww image optimizer look at the last 2 articles from here : https://cadarmarius.ro/promotii-pariuri-online-poker-casino/ the thumb used is 1024×1024, why? In media library there is shown that the thumbail 533×261 was generated. Here is a copy paste from media library of that article :

Dimensiune imagine Reduceri
Full 212,3 KB Redus cu 23,7% (66,0 KB)
Large 149,5 KB Redus cu 15,7% (27,9 KB)
Td_1068x580 119,3 KB Redus cu 20,2% (30,2 KB)
Td_533x261 36,7 KB Redus cu 9,0% (3,7 KB)
Medium 16,8 KB Redus cu 9,6% (1,8 KB)
Td_218x150 9,4 KB Redus cu 8,6% (906,0 B)
Thumbnail 6,7 KB Redus cu 10,0% (760,0 B)
Dimensiune Totală: 550,7 KB

DO YOU KNOW WHY THE THEME IS PULLING THE 1024X1024 IMAGE INSTEAD OF YOUR THUMB?

@Catalin: So i’ve to remove almost all the style.css that my site uses to obtain an unique and more optimized css loading or remove style.css from the moved css files by speed booster. Anyway, i’ll try it on my test website which is the best way.

@Pierreto
: I tried AMP and it doesn’t work correctly. Also, it is not officially supported by the template creators. My website have a very good optimization (https://gtmetrix.com/reports/gamesquare.it/8wMcYwjS – More than 90/100 in Mobile and Desktop score of Google Pagespeed and A-A-A-A-B on WebPageTest), so i don’t want ruin that by using an unsupported plugin.

Hello percezioni,

Notice that the speed booster is an optional plugin which can be activated in the same way as you install a new plugin.
The Speed Booster works only with the tested plugins. If you use other plugins, it will be automatically disabled, and I suggest to check this first in System Status. However there is a workaround to make it also work with other plugins, you can read more here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-not-compatible-with-vaultpress/
Unfortunately, the time doesn’t allow us tot provide any custom and optimization services. We provide support only for the theme related issues based on Envato support policy – https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy I suggest to get someone to help you if you want to optimize your site.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

First step would be to deactivate all your plugins, except the ones provided in the theme package, clear any caching installed and see if the problem is solved. Some problematic plugins can cause this kind of issues. It could be the optimizer plugin that you are using . Please let us know if you manage to resolve this problem.

Thanks

Did you re-generate all your images, clear all caching, resave permalinks, optimize dbase, etc. ?

simchris
tagDiv Member

Well. You need to read the help on that page, where items like “server” are noted. Only YOU can fix those items as they have nothing to do with the theme.

Stuff like gzip compression is good for 20 points; enabling keep alive (time to live) also needed it looks like; and you need to optimize your images for web or use a plugin to do so like smush.it or similar.

Simply read through the explanations on that page to see how to optimize your server and WordPress install — these need to be done before anything related to theme itself.

Good luck!

Hello lacox702,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized -> https://www.screencast.com/t/45GsBcKrI. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services is not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements. Hello pedroxi,

I have inspected your website and I saw that your loading page is poor when I access at the first time your homepage. Also, I checked your source page and I saw that you are using a lot of unknown plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues, like Autoptimize and lazy load plugin. I suggest you remove all of them, leave just our required plugins which come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, I have checked your website on Google Insights and your loading page is not a good one, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/W1tRoq9CUM You need to do some customizations as in that list is suggested if you want to achieve best theme results.

If you setup home page same way with same meta data and structure, why would your SEO change?

You can create virtually identical home page with TDC vs VC and much smaller data payload for TDC vs VC, so pages *will* run faster for most people on modern servers.

Most of the ‘custom’ modules for the THEME were created by TD, not by VC, so easy for them to port into leaner meaner builder. Also “most” people don’t use the builder for “posts” and only use for “pages” such as home page, services page, etc., and all of that can be built/tested with draft pages — without harming live pages, per normal WP dev practice for revamps.

It’s a win-win for everyone, not a mistake or fool’s errand. VC has a huge footprint, and on some systems it kills the box, and after several years of growing bloat many of us with news portals refuse to use it on anything except a simple corporate site.

TD Newspaper plus the TDC builder will be an awesome option for folks who are starting from scratch, migrating to leaner build structure vs VC, and for those who want to optimize system resources and drop all the bloat in VC that they never have or will use for anything.

Just an opinion for anybody dropping into the thread in a ‘panic.’ (TIP: don’t panic!)

Our site works properly based in California, server in Texas, Windows 10, Chrome, with TD Composer. Those elements have nothing to do with whether the plugin works.

Usually it’s due to a javascript conflict from another plugin, weird settings from using CDN or optimizer/compression plugin/service/host, a bad plugin added to Chrome (extension), corrupt cache, having more than one page builder active at same time (you can only use VC or TDC not both), etc.

Catalin

Hello @PatWire and @nairolf,

I am sorry if you are not happy with our new page builder but notice that it is not mandatory to use it. If you do not like it, you further use the Visual Composer but notice that in the future, we will release some features which will be exclusively on TD Composer. Keep in mind that the TD Composer works as expected with the theme and is fully optimized with the theme. For more information about this builder, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/

Try
a) not using jetpack
b) test site with *no* ads running
c) remove all demo content
d) don’t use “number of likes” from FB/Twitter on your posts/pages or sidebar

(etc)

Everything you pile onto a page that goes to another site to grab stuff adds bloat.

Once you optimize a “lean” site, then start adding bells/whistles to the point it doesn’t die on speed. 🙂

(At least that’s what I do … )

(( I don’t work here… just a smarty pants who butts his nose into other people’s business… 🙂 )

I built the website highlife.today and it is getting D’s and F’s for even resolving the home page.

it has 41 components that are not cookie free.

it goes externally for 14 javascript and 7 external scripts

I’m trying to understand why the website runs so slow.

I use to use it for highlife2.com but have deleted it and now rebuilt as highlife.today and both times the website is really really slow. How can I optimize it.

Hello yachtsailingcharter,

Please notice that the TD Composer is our new concept regarding on page builder and we recommend to use it because this plugin is fully integrated and optimized in the theme core files. Notice that you can use the Visual Composer if you want but all the new features which we will launch will be exclusively for TD Composer. At the moment, the TD Composer does not have all the features which Visual Composer has because this concept is in continuous development but in the future, we will hope and consider to add many features to it.

Thanks for your understanding!

Absolutely poorly. I’ll definitely stay with the previous version. All my items (posts) only loads:

  • 1 script for fonts
  • 1 CSS style
  • 1 script JS

… and we have definitely noticed an awful results because we dont need VC for posts.

Possibly your development colleagues can provide a solution for the new version.

Is a news theme and the posts have to be extremely optimized. For those who only play with theme, does not matter to much but for those who use it seriously, it is a primordial step.

clear caching, resave permalinks, clear transients with wp-optimize plugin, etc.

Hello all,

@gilimor
, sorry, but I think that I did not express myself correctly. Please keep in mind that the TD Composer do not have a scroll bar button but the items from TD Composer can be scrolled. Please notice that you should not buy any laptop because each touchpad should have the scroll function. Most likely, you do not have installed this function on your laptop and that’s why you cannot do this effect. Please check this through your PC drivers and try to fix it. In the worst case, you need to buy a scroll mouse that costs about $ 2, sorry!

@SirSteve
, I am sorry if you are unhappy with our product. If you are still unhappy with our product and if you want a full refund, please contact the Envato Market and request a full refund, accessing this link here -> https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new and we will provide your money back so you can buy other our theme.
P.S Please notice that our TD Composer was fully tested and optimized for our theme and should work as expected and your refund reason is not fair because the function exists and the TD Composer items can be scrolled.

Thanks for your understanding!!
