Hi,

The other sizes of the image would have to be created by you, then uploaded in the media library. You can use different images in the ad codes, based on device
https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
https://www.screencast.com/t/yhIdEKqN
So you could create different banners, containing links with images that would be suited for all devices.
Or simply insert the image you have in a text element and add a link to it
https://www.screencast.com/t/qSjBLMGh
The image will be responsive like that, it could be a solution.

Hi, recently i’ve been receiving complaints from clients whose adverts are not appearing on my site using Newspaper.
I’m using Revive (OpenX) to serve the ads, with invocation code in each Ad space in the theme panel.
The ads can be seen on some browsers but are missing on others. Strangely whilst i cannot see the ads in chrome, I can in safari, whereas my colleague is experiencing the opposite.
I’m not sure if this is an issue with Newspaper, wordpress, revive or my server.
Is this anything that others here have experienced?

Thanks

Hi there,

I’m struggling to find an answer to the following. I have created a banner ad for a client and placed it on the static homepage of our newssite. I used Tag Div Composer and the block Single Image to place the ad on the desired place on that page.

The problem I have is that my image is not responsive for all devices. If I want to place it as a code in the Ads section I found the code to use, but can’t find other sizes for that image in the upload folder. Besides that, how do I make sure that when someone clicks on the ad, it will link to the site of my advertiser? I don’t see an example for that in the code given on the forum in the non-Adsense ads section.

So to put it simple: I have a selfmade image/banner ad, I want to place it with tag div composer on any place I prefer on my (home)pages and I want the image to be responsive when showing on a tablet or mobile phone. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I’ve tried it on Firefox also but no difference with other browsers. I’ve tried to make a new post with just ‘test’ as a title and discription and it worked. However if i tried another post with content it does not work anymore. Also i don’t see any ads on the 404 page anymore…

I have done some more testing with this and it seems to be an issue that occurs when an image is (1) centered and (2) added through tagdiv composer. The site has four pages for beauty-treatments, linked below:

https://www.baresolutions.se/vaxning/
https://www.baresolutions.se/laser-diod/
https://www.baresolutions.se/makeup/

The last one of theese (ogonbryn-fransar) has the image alignment set to center/middle using the normal text with title block. The other (first) three ones has the alignment set to “no alignment”. The issue described only happens on the last one (with the center alignment).

It seems this appear not only in Safari, but also in Chrome on mobile devices. I have only tested with iPhone so far though. Further more this doesn´t happen every time the page is loaded. Sometimes the picture loads fine, and sometimes it disappears only to be shown as soon as i double tap or bring out the page-menu.

Can you replicate the issue? I have tried clearing all cashe and tried with several different iphones. The issue is there on all of them.

In the Theme Panel, there are elements that are not accessible. For example when selecting “Ads”, Header Ad, Sidebar Ad, etc. are not accessible. When trying to access just receive spinning square block. Happens also for “Per Category Setting”, in Block Settings – “Thumbs on Modules/Blocks”, and in other elements in Theme Panel. I have tried accessing in all different Browsers – same issue.

Hi,

That delay seems to happen because of the elements it loads. If you were to use theme blocks for example instead of those custom elements, this would surely not happen. You could maybe create a test page and try achieving similar design results, using other elements. Test to see the differences.

Thanks

Hi,

That would happen if the ad is not responsive and adapt depending on the available width. You could create ads optimized for tablet portrait or landscape, check this guide

Thanks

Hello Roundglass,

I have inspected your entire website and I saw that you have loaded many styles from more themes which are loaded together which is not a right thing and we do not recommend doing something like this, sorry! -> https://www.screencast.com/t/dbYG25U5 It’s weird what happens on your website, sorry! Please keep in mind that we cannot offer support for your additional customization and if you want to help you in the future, you should make a new clean install from scratch to another sub-domain only with our theme, without any untested plugins.

Regarding the latest request, here is talking about the td-banner-wrap-full container and it’s empty because you do not have any banner ads inside this, sorry! If you will remove it, when you add some ads you will not see them.

Thanks for your understanding!

We are not having this issue with our sites running TagDiv themes, and we have 10+ sites in Google News. However, we turn off stuff we don’t absolutely need, and are not running the mobile theme options, and we’re not using pagebuilders for posts, and not running external ad networks other than AdSense at this time.

That likely doesn’t help — just some feedback 🙂

Also worth reminding to those visiting thread in future: check your Google News sitemap — if all the data is there, Google should be able to get that data. Any error will also show in your GN sitemap in your search console account when you “test sitemap” — after you fix stuff, resubmit sitemap for Google News.

I’m bringing up an online storefront on my existing Newspaper8 site using EDD. The way EDD works it only lets me use the default page style from Newspaper8, so I have had to create a child theme and create single-download.php to make it look like I want.

I am able to tweak this template to override everything I want to disable (the social share, the “Related Articles”, ads, etc.) using the template and overriding the short code for ads and adding a simple conditional based on the post type ‘download’.

I also want to override the “more articles” slider element so it does not show up on posts of type ‘download’. While digging through the code I found a method td_options::update_temp() that lets me do exactly what I want by just adding a single line to the template. However, that method is documented with a “deprecated” warning not to use it. This solution is just so simple:

td_options::update_temp('tds_more_articles_on_post_pages_enable','no');

So my question is if there is any other approved official way to override a setting for my post type this way?

The other option I have is to copy the includes/wp_booster/td_more_article_box.php file into my child theme and add a one-line change to add the conditional there, but that just makes for more long-term maintenance work for me on every theme update.

Same problem here. When I try to edit my website’s front page with the TD Composer it just keeps loading and I can’t change anything.

Also can’t access to the Theme Panel. It loads the first option, Header, but when I try to access another tab a # appears on the url but nothing happens. I erased all the caches, deactivated all plugins, reinstalled the necessary plugins, even made a fresh install of the theme and the child theme and it keeps failing.

Don’t know if it’s related.

Hi, I am following your guidelines (https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ads-adsense/)for
inserting adsense code into newspaper theme and the ads are not displaying. There is a blank whitespace instead.

Abblock is disabled. The ads show fine on other themes. I have had the account since 2011, so it is not an issue of a new account waiting to be delivered by Google.

I have also tried posting the code inside the content and it still will not show. It shows a blank white space instead. When inserting ads with theme panal it also just shows a blank white space where the ad should be.

Any other ideas?

I would try: 1. Create the three ads in AdRotate 2. Create a group 3. Tick the three ads so they are in the group you created 4. Put the group Shortcode in ‘Background ad’ in Theme Panel – this works with the other custom ad spaces

See http://westbridgfordwire.com ( header and leaderboard ) ads both use this method

AdRotate PRO gives impressions/clicks – you have to pay for that functionality

I thought I had a solution to the problem of an unsightly header in a column text block with a border. Instead, adding an extra css class to any column text block, placed anywhere, top to bottom, in the first column using tagdiv composer breaks the 2 column layout, pulling all blocks into the first column and corrupting the header at the top of the second column. (column layout 2+1 with sticky column on front page, using your special class name for the row to get the column to work. I also have a full width row with a banner article above the 2+1 row.)

Details: Padding a text box with a border to move the text away from the border edges unfortunately also pads the header, which leaves an unsightly white strip beside it (using your default header, or any other header with a coloured background). The solution seemed to me to add an extra class to the text box (I tried several class names, all broke the column layout, whether or not there was any custom css composed for them.) The intent in css was: .adjust-title-somewhat.block-title {
margin-left:-4px;
}
The simple custom css ‘block.text {margin-left:-4px}’ works fine an all titles, unfortunately, as I have several titles not within a block and they promptly adjust leftward too. So, giving the titled block an extra class – a slight nuisance – seemed a solution to pinpoint the css change to that class only. (There may be a better way using a default parent class that identifies block titles from stand-alone titles, but I haven’t figured that out.)

At any rate, whether there is css information in the custom css for the ‘column text block’ particular extra class name or not, the simple presence of an extra class name in any column text block seems to completely screw up the layout once it is saved.

Ideas? Another way of preventing/removing the unsightly padding (or margining) of the title? Needless to say I do NOT want to go with a title without a background color, which would at least mask the title problem.

Alan

Thanks for reply. I checked, there’s no custom code inside theme, except adsense script in the header. And layout urls work perfectly on desktop version… issue is with mobile version. All other blocks working fine except the urls in Block 13.

Regarding speed… I found below objects from theme showing error 404. Can you please let us know how to resolve those errors?

Thank you! I have update the theme and found that element.

But another problem emerges. When I put the photos they are shown square size, regardless if I change the image width or if the pictures are not square size. Please see the screenshot: http://www.crpm.org.mk/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/inline-single-image.png

How to make the pictures not squared?

Thank you,
Blagoj

Hello Catalin:

Thank you so much.

Yes, you are right it’s Google Page Level Ad Code. I mentioned this as Google adsense code due to lack of technical knowledge on my part.

I would appreciate if the readers of this post could give their experience about using Google Page Level Code in Newspaper theme.

I have another site made on Genesis framework. It has option to put code in a section in their theme penal, which get placed in header section. I put the page level code there and it’s working absolutely fine.

Thank you for your suggestion.

(i) In the analytics section I already have added google analytics code. So can I add here more than one code.

(ii) I want to add a google adsense page level code. Will it work if added in analytics section.

(iii) Is there any other way to add code just before closing head tag.

Thanks…

Hello coolkid,

You should try using other ads to create your own ads according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-using-other-ads/ and there you can ad what size you want for your image.

Thanks for the message!
