The link you sent looks pretty much what I want. Just a little curious how I go about doing it. When you mention use the template with latest articles section… I can’t find a template that mentions the “latest articles” when trying to edit the page.

If you want to show the button like on our demo please use Read More for your articles – http://screencast.com/t/IalXRz8nc – http://screencast.com/t/bpyCP4ED1 and use module 15 to display articles for your blog – http://screencast.com/t/VjDgcYIQ This will work only on loop(blog, category, homepage + latest articles template) when is used module 15(display the articles content).

In the theme we included a smaller version of the demo which comes with all page templates and the basic setup for starting a site. We didn’t included the whole demo because we wanted to keep the theme as small as possible. The xml was not included in the theme package because wordpress importer is buggy and it doesn’t save the entire data (sidebar, block settings, footer widgets, etc have to be configured manually).
On our demo’s menu are added only some categories that are set to megamenu and pages with submenu items: http://screencast.com/t/7sffQJtdul You can make your menu that you need by adding your pages and categories like in the screenshot. I am totally familiar with what you are saying. I just wish that you would acknowledge the value in being given a complete demo. It does present, time-saving and learning opportunities via example. I don’t think that can be debated.
If all that doesn’t matter, then they should be presenting this template the way that it unpacks on install and not something that has been dressed up.
++ Upshot – the layouts are included with the theme — open a post and note all the options for layouts; note the theme panel for layouts and note you can specify default template for posts and over-ride that on per-post basis.
++ But wait for TagDiv to help, I guess you’re not “getting” my attempt to help on how to explore the built in LAYOUTS you already have — the demo content doesn’t add to that, it just uses the built-in LAYOUTS to populate dummy content. You already have all the LAYOUTS from the demo!
Yes, and I already have had a couple occasions where that layout had issues. Now if I had their sample I could start reverse engineering things to try to determine what was different. I didn’t post until I played around for a bit and saw issues that I had to spend time resolving. I would have just been as well off, had I not installed the demo content because that in its default state is an UGLY mess.
I am not the only way that feels this way by the way. I am just a bit more outspoken on the matter.
Anyways I appreciate your time but wish you would acknowledge that a certain percentage of the population feels the way I do. You might feel that I am a fool but not everyone that feels the same is.

Incidentally, if the demo pages aren’t important, can you explain to me the difference between Newsmag and Newspaper?
I’d like to use a POST TEMPLATE 7 (without featured image) with Big Style post header from PT 2 or 3.
Iam using PT 7 without sidebar for full width gallery page, but I really need BIG style post header from PT 2 or 3.
I thought about styling it like the Big one(2,3) but PT 7 is connected with the default post template and they share their post header css.
iam pretty good with code customization so if you guys could point me to the right place where and what I need to edit that would be great couse I cant figure this one out on my own.
Copy the PT 3 header to PT 7 ? or
add a separate css class for PT 7 header and style it ?
ps.
That would also be nice for a feature – when selecting NO SIDEBAR (FW 100%) in post settings, Post Header automaticly changes up for the big one.

I am finding it hard to re-create what i thought was a TEMPLATE only to find the sample page tempates given are no way near the templates and post templates as advertised in the sales page on themeforest. this is really frustrating please. can anyone help in geting the looks of the full widthe bleed image on top and centered newspaper logo title as featured here in this page?

I purchased the newspaper theme last night and there are many things about it that I am impressed with. Having said that, the demo content is not one of them. The demo content is horrible. When it is installed the end result is a Homepage heading in the menu and contacts. The pages don’t look anything like the demo being advertised. I understand that some images might be copyrighted but then similar sized ones should be put in their place. Often when someone buys a template, their hope is that can reuse the ideas being displayed. In other words, many would just like to change the content but keep a similar structure. In its current form one has to re-invent the wheel. The other purpose of demo content is that it allows the user to reverse engineer pages to learn how to do something new.
I was wondering if anyone had any comment on this?

I did update the child theme, but still couldn’t get it to work! Even when I included nothing in the directory except for the below style.css file, no content would show on my page.
I’m curious whether anyone else has experienced this?
Chris, I appreciate hearing that it just might not be worth it to use a child theme at this stage in the theme’s development…maybe I will just let myself off the hook for now and try to implement it during a later version!

This pagination issue seems to be happening ONLY on the homepage.
Archives, author pages, cateogry pages, tag pages are all working perfectly fine.

What you could do is to use the latest article section on your page and use the module 7 layout with or without the excerpt, you will have look like this (without excerpt): http://screencast.com/t/njj39Tytqa1 – with excerpt: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/module-7-category/
Unfortunately the module 7 is an extension of module 1 which can’t be used on blocks, just on loops that is why you have to use the template with latest articles section.

I noticed that Google Structured Data Tool is saying there’s an “error” with Newsmag’s mainContentOfPage parameter.
After investigation, I saw that schema.org is now using:
schema.org/BlogPosting instead of schema.org/Blog (current Newsmag setup)
So, to fix:
line 80,103,118 in single.php: (I just changed Blog to BlogPosting)

Unfortunately you will have some issues like this if you use Visual Composer plugin also on post pages. The VC is specifically designed for pages so we don’t recommend to be on posts.

We haven’t made any tests with the theme using this plugin so unfortunately I can’t provide you an accurate answer on this. I suggest you go trough their documentation here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/master-slider/ ..and see how the slider’s are added to the site (pages/posts).
If you have any difficulties to read theme’s code from post and pages templates let us know and we will guide on it.

We had a similar report when using MegaMenu from Pages feature and we are still working on finding a solution for this. It seems that the VC plugin somehow isn’t loaded on bbpress forum templates. The sidebars widgets work fine however the menu shortcodes aren’t interpreted by the VC plugin.
We will try to find a solution as soon as possible for this and include the fix in the next theme update.

Honestly, I’m not sure where to add the shortcode in the template. I was just adding the shortcode within the post or page, and could not get it to work. I’m not a programmer, more of a designer. Thanks for any help. It’s greatly appreciated.
