Hi

I’m trying to set the background image of a row element using tagDiv Composer. I’ve uploaded an image of 2600 x 900 pixels (same size as the one used in demo content). In css tab of the row element, I choose that image as the background of the row, but after a while, on the screen appears a kind of scaled thumbnail that looks weird.

If I go into Chrome Developer Tools, I can see that, instead of the full image (contact-image.jpg), an image named (contact-image-300×105.jpg) has been used. I don’t know where it came from. I can guess it’s trying to fit a 300×105 pixels image to cover the ro’w background.

I’ve installed Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and regenerated all thumbnails, so I don’t know what’s happening.

You can see that bad bahavior in the following links:

Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Step 4

What can I do to fix this?

Thank you!

Hi, our theme is generating thumbs or each image in the moment that this is uploaded in media, therefore for each thumb enable in theme panel it will be generate a thumb and this will be crop to can fit with the thumb size, also you can use our guide from here to regenerate these thumbs -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Another thing that you can do is to use flex blocks these has the option to select the thumb that you want to use and the one that is look better -> https://i.imgur.com/SlFQJxk.png
Thank you!

Hi,
This problem started since the last WordPress update around 30 of August. I thought it was Jetpack that was causing this problem but now I’m not sure anymore. I disabled “speed up image load times” since the pictures were not displaying anymore on the website. After disabling they reappeared but now I can’t share some (not all) posts to FB or Twitter anymore. The picture will not show when sharing. On my FB page in history, some posts have now a black picture. If I tried to “refresh share attachement” it will also not work.
I also tried to regenerate all thumbnails on the website. It also didn’t work.
I don’t know anymore what to try. Facebook debugger tool tells me “App Id is missing”.

Hello!

So I’ve downloaded and run Regenerate Thumbnails, but still having problems. It’s like thumbnails aren’t being generated at all. I’ve tried regenerating individual photos, but I keep getting an undefined error (seen here: https://imgur.com/DEMVZwF).

Any ideas? All images sizes are active on Thumbs on Blocks/Modules. It mostly seems to impact the images in Big Grid 2 here: https://www.tcu360.com/

Thanks!

I have changed the standard thumbnail size in wordpress settings to 200×200 and regenerate the thumbnails for this article. But it have no effect.

Hi fabioweb90, indeed setting the min-height will not be like a background cover, this is because the block is using a smaller image as thumb and not a background image to can be cover without stretching the image. Unfortunately the solution mentioned by Simion is the only one that can make the blocks bigger and work properly.
Also to make sure that all the images has the same thumb size, you can regenerate the images -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Thank you for your understanding!

We are using the Fast News Single Post Cloud Template for all of our posts. Questions:

1. What is the ideal image Size for the big (Featured) image within this Cloud template?
2. Although we have run Regenerate Thumbnails, the Featured Image appears to be centered to the right in all of our posts.
3. Here is an example where the image size is 640 x 341 yet the right side of the image is barely visible: https://www.bizcatalyst360.com/what-would-mlk-say-on-the-57th-anniversary-of-the-march-on-washington/

Hi,

1. What You can do is to regenerate the thumbs -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ and see if there are some difference or not, if the problem persists, please provide me a link where I can inspect this problem.

2. As I can see the mobile version is displaying correctly, this part from here https://i.imgur.com/q3XMLui.png is look like this because you can slide the posts.

Thank you!

Featured image stayed the same unless I did something wrong (regenerated featured images).

Hi,
I read the other post on this but it doesn’t help. Regardless of what I do, the featured image is huge. The code will say it is displaying at the changed value, but it is not. I need to change the featured image to something like 800×600. Regenerated images, that did not help either. Using Newspaper theme.

Hi alexandria, unfortunately I can not say there will be no problems replacing the “Regenerate Thumbnails” with reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced because we do not test it, but normal there should be no problems, you can make a test.
Thank you for your understanding!

Hello there,

I have installed ShortPixel Image Optimizer but I got a message that it says its not compatible with “Regenerate Thumbnails”. it is suggested that i should intall reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced.

I just want to know if you think its a good idea to install reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced instead of Regenerate Thumbnails?

Thank you.

Hi newsuseri, is not a very good idea to make these changes in database, it will be batter to use a ssl plugin like this one -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/
Also what you can do is to regenerate the images or to change the image hero-bg.jpg from the place where is set.
Thank you!

Thank you Calin. I had already tried what you suggest, but thumbs were still always cropped, less or more.

I found a solution though for images whithin flex blocs. In case someone has the same problem, just add this to your CSS:

.td-thumb-css {
background-size: contain!important;
background-repeat: no-repeat!important;
}

But I still have the problem with the images which are not within flex blocs (for example in “related articles” or “more stories”)
I installed the plugin “Simple Image Sizes”, set all thumbs to “not crop” and regenerated all images but this still does not change anything.

Could you tell me what can be done?
Thanks!

Hi,

By default our theme will generate thumbs for modules inside the blocks and grids, in this way the image will adapt and look well on all elements and viewporst you are using.

We recommend to choose only we thumbs size and disable the rest of theme in theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/

Also in order to remove the thumbs that are no longer use in theme you can use a plugin like this Force Regenerate Thumbnails -> https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

Hope this will help you!

I uploaded a new picture and regenerated all thumbnails for that specific photo, but I’m still seeing the 5px space when the image is enabled in that block. Here is the page (see the test post with the colored borders as described earlier in this thread):

Hi,

Please make sure that the thumb has the right size, please use our guide for regenerate the thumb -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ and provide me a link where I can inspect the situation, only in this way I can see what is the problem and how to remove that extra margin.

Thank you for your understanding!

696×0 is enabled by default, i have disabled and enabled and saved it again and regenerated the thumbnails but it’s not being generated or used. When I inspect element on the front end it loads the full image.jpg instead of image-696×0.jpg.

Hi,

I am new to the theme. I have installed the Scandal demo template.
However, then I try to change the colour of the footer widget title.
The CSS from the theme setting is being overwritten by this static code

Also, there is a javascript error after the theme and demo installation

Can you please let me know what this static code is for and how can I reset or regenerate the code so that theme option are in priority?

Hi,

Yes, you should be able to use a thumb that you have enable in theme panel and the image is generate or you can use our guide from here to regenerate the thumbs -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ -> https://i.imgur.com/5x9CDF6.png -> https://i.imgur.com/BTPO4f2.png
