Hi,

1) You can hide the post title with a css code like so:
.single .entry-title{
display:none!important;
}

2) The block size is fixed and is set here: http://screencast.com/t/68xOeiT3hvQf
If you wan to change this thumbnail, you can either chose another one from this list: http://screencast.com/t/691iCWyqiXBH and change it in the module or use the theme api and create your very own thumbnail like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_thumbadd/.
Make sure you regenerate thumbnails after any change made to them

3) Please provide more details so I can better understand how to help.

Thanks.

Hi,
please disable all plugins excepot visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the images again. If they are not back to their proper resolution, you may have to regenerate the thumbs: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Image optimization tools usually create this issue but other plugins can cause it as well.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hi

Child theme functionality it’s covered in theme’s documentation here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ Only the files indicated there are available to be edited via child theme. Also I’ve mentioned in my previous reply that I’ve tested jpeg compression from child theme and works fine. Here is a an example: http://screencast.com/t/bnE5F4cmi2Ehttp://screencast.com/t/CluFke3o
Here are the images generated at a compression by 100 from child theme: http://screencast.com/t/zpnNS3UdERy4
http://screencast.com/t/4qefyWgrJp6J Noe that I’ve regenerated the thumbnails after each modification made in child theme, otherwise the compression won’t take effect.

As for cropping system that cannot be overwritten from child theme as Catalin already pointed in its previous replies. I can be changed only by editing main theme’s files or creating a plugin.

Thanks!

Actually I already did it 2 times
1st time with this plugin — https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
2nd time with that plugin — https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

I followed the instructions very carefully. Unfortunately in both cases it didn’t help 🙁

Hi

I’ve checked your site and noticed that the images used for module 16 are not cut at the right sizes, that’s why the page layout it’s affected. Try to regenerate your thumbnails following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thanks!

Hi

I’ve tested the code on my side an it works fine in both child and main theme. In order to have it working the thumbnails must be regenerated.
You can create a new cropping system only by using theme’s api but this is not possible in child theme. You will need to edit main theme’s core files or as an alternative create a plugin which crops the images in a different way.

What you’re trying to do is a custom modification which require good coding skills and the proper knowledge of this process. Keep in mind that we do not offer custom modification, they are not included in support policy.
Support refers at current features included in the theme and helping users to understand how they work. Anything related with extending current functionality of a feature or creating new ones means custom work and falls beyond the support can offer you. Here you can find more detail about support policy: http://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy

To customize the theme or change the way some of its features works you will have to proceed with caution and study very carefully how your changes will affect it. Also you will need very good coding skills as our theme is very complex and understanding how code works is not a “walk in a park” job.
If you are not aware of the steps you need to take to achieve your goal my advice is to look for someone which can help you with implementation or hire a freelancer to do it for you.

Thanks for your message!

Hi,
It seems your site does not use thumbnails at all. It uses the full size images. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn. the regenerate thumbs again and see the results. A plugin could be interfering with the thumbnails.
Let us know how it goes and if you still have trouble with this send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can inspect this issue.
Also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!

Hello Jose,

You can try to use Regenerate Thumbnail or Force Regenerate to regenerate your thumbnail. For more information about this theme process, please check the topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/resize-thumbnails-to-proper-size/
Also, you can check your Theme panel->Block settings and there you can see all the size for our thumbs, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/l9ShaspAx

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

Hello yachtsailingcharter,

Please check your images to have the right sizes for your block and grid thumbs. I said this, because your uploaded images are too smaller than your thumbs and the theme does not enlarge the images but only cropped them. So, if you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate. For more information about these kinds of plugins, please consult their documentation here -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ Also, please ensure that the functionalities of these plugins are not affected by the other untested plugins that could create interference through the theme. Please notice that these types of plugins are not tested with our theme and we cannot provide support for the theme. We recommend them because a lot of our customer uses and they were satisfied to their functionality.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Also, if your problem is still there after these changes, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer.

Thanks.

Hello ineedsolutions,

I do not understand very good what you want to achieve. Please notice that all the size for our thumbs is loaded in td_config.php core file, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/pBVDN2tm and if you want to change the default dimensions for them you have to do from there. Please notice that after changes you have to use Thumbnail Regenerate or Force Regenerate to regenerate your new thumbnails.
If is not what you mean, please provide more details about what you want to achieve, also you can provide some useful screenshots for better understanding so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you for you quick reply.

However: The thumbs under block settings have always been on default and switched-on and I had (force) regenerated thumbnails before asking this question. The generated thumbs are on the server, I can see them via FTP but the theme does not display those.

Let me start by saying that your V7 is awesome! Some little errors here and there, but I will not write-in about those because I am sure that you see them as well and that you are already working on it.

Great work! Great support! You are my favourite.

—————

I have a problem with all thumbnails. I switched from a totally different theme to yours, regenerated thumbnails and the correct size are created and available on the server.

But (as an example) Block 1 or Block 2 do not pull in 300x160px or 324x160px but they end-up pulling a sized-down version of my original 1230x820px and resize that to 240x160px.

Again, both correct Block thumb sizes are created and I did regenerate/force regenerate 4 times. But I alays only get a size-variant of the original aspect ratio, never a cropped image.

I have no errors in the console.

There seems to be something stuck in the loop!?

Hi

I’ve checked your site and noticed that the thumbs are not properly generated: http://screencast.com/t/b6bntwqieDHI Try to regenerate your thumbnails following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ clear all caches then test again.
Also you can increase images quality by changing the compression rate of wp. Here you can find more details in this regard: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/fix-jpeg-compression/ Note that if you change the compressing you also have to regenerate the thumbs so the changes take effect.

Thanks!

Hi

You’re still not using image’s thumb for your grid as can be seen here: http://screencast.com/t/lgynoqdDsCmV This is image’s url displayed in big grid but not links to a thumb, it links to a re-sized image.
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then regenerate the thumbs again. Also if you made any changes in theme’s core files make sure they don’t break images cop system.

Thanks!

Hello procrastinationspace,

Please be more specific regarding of your main menu and top bar issues because I have checked your website and I did not saw any problem with these sections. Also, if you had some additional customization through your custom CSS box, please try to re-save them for the custom CSS code to be regenerated for the latest version of our theme.
If is not what you mean and if you still have problems on your side, please provide some useful screenshots so I can saw the issues and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hello ilnegozio,

Unfortunately, as a general rule, we recommend always doing backup for each update to be more safety in this regard.

1,3)If you have a custom CSS in your CSS box, please try to re-save it again as the code to be regenerated in the new version of Newspaper (v. 7.0).
2)Please ensure that you have correctly updated your theme via FTP and also, please check if you have the latest version of Social Counter installed on your side (version 4.0).

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

None of the problems were solved, only the website was temporarily stripped of all plugins and customization.

I told you I had not only regenerated thumbnails but also checked the presence of the necessary thumbnails, which are there. Anyway, I did try again, to no avail. Sending you the e-mail now.

Hello Torgut,

I have checked your website and I saw that you solved the first and the third problem with the hover effect for your main menu (post/page) and for category tag -> now is the same and no longer change.
For your second problem, please try to Regenerate your Thumbnails with Thumbnail Regenerate and Force Regenerate plugin for your images that are not filled correctly and if your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect the issue. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.

Thanks.

1) Check my home page. Mouse over menu does NOT change color of the font. Open any post. Mouse over menu DOES change the color of the font. I do NOT want this change in the menu. Can it be fixed?

2) Did you read the part where I said I regenerated all thumbnails and that I do have all thumbnails sizes turned on? From there, I can’t see the relevance of the link you provided. I am sorry if I misunderstood you but meanwhile the issue is still occurring.

3) I troubleshooted this issue based in your information. It’s not a plugin. It’s the custom CSS. And guess what… it’s a piece of CSS that you provided here in the forums a couple of week ago, to uniformize the hover effect in all elements. Can it be changed to stop this issue and still maintain the needed hover effect? This is the code you told me to add and which is now causing this (to be more precise, what triggers the problem is the !important of the first item, but then if I take it out, part of the mouse hover effect in the home page blocks becomes inactive):

.td_module_wrap:hover a {
color: #980000 !important;
}

.td-module-title a {
color: #005b88;
}

.widget li a {
color: #005b88;
}

.widget li a:hover {
color: #980000;
}

.single a {
color: #005b88;
}

.single a:hover {
color: #980000 !important;
}

.alignleft {
margin-top: 0 !important;
}

.td-module-title a {
color: #005b88;
}

Hi,
For some reason the theme simply does not use thumbnails on your site: http://screencast.com/t/CeC3IEtTSk It always uses the original image scaled down. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then use the force regenerate plugin to regenerate your thumbnails.
If you still have issues with this, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can inspect this issue. Also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!

Hello! Slowly my new website is gaining form. I gave three little problems at the moment, for which I would ask for your help.

website: http://goodlife.visitar-praga.com.pt

1) Mouse over items of menu in the front page doesn’t change the letters colors. In a post they change color on mouse over. Can we fix this? I wouldn’t like to have this change (only in the menu)

2) Could you please take a look at this screen shot? Why is that happening? I regenerated all images and I believe I have all thumbnail sizes of the theme activated.
http://www.screencast.com/t/go3AvY1K

3) Now, I don’t know if this is normal, but at least to me it’s not convenient. Again about hover effects. If the mouse goes near the tag there is a preliminary effect. It’s not convenient at all. Then when the mouse is actually over the tag the effect is correct. Possible to fix?

Thanks for all !

Hi,

I did that before and tried again after receiving this email as I used a plugin to regenerate thumbs called exactly the same as the one you advised but this still not resolved the issue. Downloaded again but still no luck even it was done : http://scr.hu/37cl/3c9lc. All thumbs on blocks are enabled (I never disabled them anyway) http://scr.hu/37cl/dogja

It still looks like here: http://scr.hu/37cl/h4kqq and here: http://scr.hu/37cl/g2r4y

Do you have any idea why it isn’t working for me?

Bogdan B.

Hi,
Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this. The theme was created to add thumbs to every image you upload. In order to reduce thumbnail sizes, you can deactivate any unused thumbnails from here: http://screencast.com/t/zLjEjE9z9I and then use the force regenerate plugin.
Thank you!
