Hello bastian-pl,
I have checked your website and I saw that your Facebook from social counter does not work properly and also I saw that you have an old version of Newspaper (6.2) Please make sure you have these requirements before further investigation is required:
1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.6.3. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
2) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.6.3 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.
3)You need to follow this guide to get the requirements from facebook:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours.
Once you followed all the above steps properly and made sure you have not missed anything, (and the social counter still does not work), then you can send an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can further inspect the issue.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!

Hello,
This maybe has something to do with your WP settings.
Please first try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and clear your cache. If the problem is still there, you need to check the system status settings and try to get all the options green: http://screencast.com/t/z9DGWDEmpKFR
You can follow this guide: System status parameters guide
These settings are part of the theme requirements and should be adjusted.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hi,
Please delete the W3 Total Cache plugin and use the WP Super Cache plugin. https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks for the message!
Hello,
This is a strange issue. We had no reports of settings being reset by themselves. The theme does not reset your settings. it does not have any code that does that (some people even requested this but there is no such option)
This indicates a glitch somewhere. maybe a plugin conflict. It could be a number of things. What you can do is check if you meet the requirements and have the system status parameters set correctly:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can check your system status in the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/bM1nbYsDWuST
I hope this helps
Thank you!
Hi
The theme code was tested and optimized for best performance, we have a lot of clients and the theme works well on a large variety of hosts.
First please make sure that you use the recommended server configuration for Newsmag theme, you can check our documentation for more details: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
There are lots of factors that influence the site’s page-sped. I suggest you first try this without any other plugins active, leave just VC plugin active the check again.
To improve your server response time you can try to reduce the number of queries (fewer plugins, fewer blocks on page, reduce the elements which use ajax requests/pagination like mega menus/load more/infinite load), also consider using a cache plugin, we recommend the WP super cache plugin with the following configuration: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ To improve the loading speed look the mysql query cache: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/query-cache.html we also use it on our demo.
Also you can use the speed booster to move the js and css at the bottom of the page, eliminate render-blocking, but not for all plugins. Check the System Status if the speed booster is active if you use other plugins than the tested ones. You can find some useful information regrading speed booster usage in this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-questions/
Also you can read this guide, it may help – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks!
Hello,
Try with an image from another file, another image altogether. Upload one from your desktop and check the url again.
Try the issue without plugins as well to rule out a plugin conflict. Then you can check to see if you meet the newspaper requirements: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
And please check the system status: http://screencast.com/t/YCirf6bqUFI Try to get all these options green by following this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Let us know if the problem is still there afterwards.
Thank you!

You can also contact your hosting provider and report the problem to rule out any server-side issues.

Thank you!
Hello,
You can try to check your system status and see if the options there are within the recommended parameters (they should be green): http://screencast.com/t/ZuwtasWUh
If your values need to be increased you can follow this topic to adjust them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/image-error-and-status/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can also check if you meet the system requirements for our theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
You can also try to rename your widgets.The widget area only accepts the basic characters. No symbols or language specific letters. Try to change your titles to just plain text and check if the issue is still there.
You can also try it on a different browser to rule out browser related issues as well.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please check the server requirements for newspaper theme – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ and increase the php memory(wp-config) and the other values from php.ini file – http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.%3Cb%3Ephp%3C/b%3E#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
Also you can the pagespeed optimization guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks!
Hi,
You can use the theme on multiple test sites(development) without any problems. I’m not sure what the issue is, please try to do a clean install and check this without any plugins active, except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Also you can check the system requirements and adjust those values(php.ini and wp-config files) – http://screencast.com/t/Om47WUBu3
If you still have issues after this please provide more details with error you get(a screenshot will also help).
Thanks!

Hi,
I’m writing here because I implemented Newspapper for a client, and i’m having performance problems.
The official requirements for the theme states that Godaddy should handle 2000 daily visits. I’m using the most expensive of the shared hosting plans on Godaddy, the site has less than 7500 monthly visits and WP Super Chache is running, but the CPU can’t handle the traffic.
I installed the “Query Monitor” plugin to find the queries that are consuming resources, and it seems that the problem is in Visual Composer:

The site is: http://www.goldevestuario.com
Could you please help me understand why in my case the theme is having trouble dealing with so low traffic?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Leonel Frattesi
Hello,
If you ruled out the plugins conflict, please check your system status: http://screencast.com/t/rzWVVw88cA
Try to get all these option green. You can follow this guide to do it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can also check the newspaper requirements to see if you meet them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If the problem is still there after, you can try your widgets on a default WordPress theme so we can rule out WordPress as well.
Let me know how it goes.
Thank you.
Hello,
Complementary to Chris’ suggestion, try to install the theme using this tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and please make sure you meet these requirements as well to ensure optimal functionality: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hello,
Now, I setting on file wp-config.php add
/** Memory Limit */
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M' );
define( 'WP_CACHE', true );
and on .htaccess add
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
php_value memory_limit 64M
</IfModule>
and add php.ini
max_execution_time = 90
max_input_time = 300
memory_limit = 64M
post_max_size = 32M
upload_max_filesize = 32M
see in phpinfo have all server requirements
But can’t install this.
Hi,
Please check System Status, the theme needs some server requirements – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
As reference check this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/exceeds-the-limit-of-8388608-byte/#post-42985
Thanks!
I switched back to the oler version of Visual Composer and everything works fine.
I can’t change max_input_vars – all other requirements are fine.
Hello Alessio,
The first thing you can do is check and see if the requirements in the theme panel->system status are met: http://screencast.com/t/pq6z32MjBz
If this is not the case, you can try a WP default theme so we can further narrow down the possibilities and see if the problem comes from WP or the theme.
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Hello,
The problem seems to be at your end. Please check your system status to see if there is any option that does not meet the minimum requirements: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Let us know how it goes!
Thank you!
Hi,
I’ve tested this but did not found any issue importing a template. Please make sure you use version 5 of the plugin and you import a template for this version.
Also you can check the plugin’s requirements and recommendations – http://screencast.com/t/LXXul7lO
Thanks!
Hello,
Have you also tried to check system status? Our theme has a few requirements in order to work properly. You can check the link above and check your settings. If this is not the case, try to disable all your plugins except visual composer. Maybe it’s a plugin that isn’t compatible with our theme.
Thank you.
