Hello Edward,
This is not a bug, you can check our demo tutorial here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-aston-villa-beat-liverpool-to-join-arsenal-in-the-fa-cup-final/ and you will see that this behavior does not happen. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
HI
Are you referring at accordion or tab elements from Visual Composer? If so you can get the section ID by editing each section/tab like here: http://screencast.com/t/wRmv5C5W You can add those elements on page using VC: http://screencast.com/t/KTdx2iwoc1C
Thanks!
I followed the tutorial and done this but no help…
You can check the all CSS for the desktop and they are on this URL:
Now, you see the last 4 lines we had added for the last 4 CSS but no help…
function css_mover() {
//if ($this->td_theme_name == ‘Newspaper’) { }
// wp 011 – Newspaper 6
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘bbp-default-bbpress’); //bbpress old
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘bbp-default’); // bbpress
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘contact-form-7’);
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘google_font_open_sans’);
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘google_font_roboto’);
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘js_composer_front’);
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘td-theme’);
Hello geolux,
If you want this, you will have to use the do_shortcode method to add everything you want at this page. So, first of all, you should prepare your block in Visual Composer, filtered by latest articles and then take the shortcode generated by this plugin and with this function, add this in the core file where the bbpress is created, like bbpress.php file, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/XnkATDX2x -> http://screencast.com/t/bJwEiALFLTBS -> http://screencast.com/t/gxnsl7KIrYc Please read this guide to learn how to filter posts inside blocks: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ For more information about do_shoercode method, please check this topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/add-content-block-in-the-posts-below-social-sharing/
Please notice that is not a simple task and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Unfortunately the front-end editor has been disabled in our theme because it caused a few issues that could not have been overcome. You can only use the back-end editor in our theme. We are building our very own builder that is a front end drag and drop builder. You can test it out here: https://github.com/tagDiv/td-composer (you install it as a plugin)
Than kyou!
Hi there, I just inherited the task of web editor for a university publication and I’m working on updating the out-of-date site. I want to upgrade from Newspaper 4 to the latest version. I’ve seen the documentation that lists the three ways to do this. Whenever I attempt to upgrade through WordPress (clicking the ‘update script’ under the “newspaper’ menu heading) it starts, but gives an error message:
“Import script started:
> Newspaper 4 settings not found in database! td_008 – not found
> Quiting!”
Also, I tried to do it using the Envato Market method. I have successfully acquired a token ID. When I click the ‘add item’ option it asks me to input the token and item ID. I use the unique string of letters and numbers that Envato gave me and the item ID 5489609 for the Newspaper theme, as per the documentation. However it says that something is entered incorrectly and I can’t add an item.
I need to update the theme ASAP because most of the interface is broken. The visual composer doesn’t work, the interface crashes almost every time I try to navigate between sections (Pages -> Posts, for example) and uploading media often crashes the browser. All plugins are updated to their current version and WordPress is as well.
Thanks,
-Matt
It’s the latest version of Newsmag 😉

Version 3.1 – July 25th, 2016
UPDATE NOTICE: Please note that this version does not work with legacy Visual Composer versions.
new: Visual Composer plugin updated to the latest version 4.12
new: login, register and forgot password ajax windows, a complete and more modern redesign.
new: added support for full height rows, column position and content position on them in Visual Composer.
new: added support for parallax speed on rows
new: added support for equal height inner rows and content placement
new: setting to hide the author name on modules and on single posts independently. Previously there was only one global setting.
new: Added support for custom fonts in theme panel that are uploaded via the wordpress media gallery. The custom fonts can be used just like before on most of the theme’s UI without writing any code
new: the weather widget now opens an input if it’s unable to locate the user via the browser’s location API.
misc: we fully rewrote the trending now block, it’s now leaner and it works better
misc: block parameters now have a better description
misc: code improvements to the following shortcodes: td_block_big_grid_slide, td_block_homepage_full_1, td_block_ad_box and the video playlists
misc: the media gallery that is used in the theme panel is now less cluttered and without the unused options
misc: we cleaned the theme panel and the code is more organized now
misc: all the blocks now show a notice to admins on the frontend when there are missing settings that are required.
misc: the main theme loader is smoother now and has small design improvements
misc: we changed the way templates detect the Visual Composer plugin. The detection method is based on VC_ROW and it only triggers when VC_ROW is found in the content. This allows one to use shortcodes in the default templates that have sidebar + title.
misc: added font settings for post lists
misc: drop caps font settings issue fix
misc: all the advertising blocks now support an ad title
misc: various google webmaster structured data issues have been fixed
misc: better support for IE8
fix: category dropdown list with long category titles now works as expected

FYI, v 3.1 with the TD composer is wicked faster. You can read my long winded optimization thread on some of my tweaks after finally moving from 1.7 to 3.1, skipping the 2x gen. Very happy with 3.1 so far. 🙂
Hi
You can try to use a text box and paste the shortcode from Visual Composer there: http://screencast.com/t/fcMaU0rtH Also you can try a 2/3+1/3 layout on pages: http://screencast.com/t/xejw9KXFTDW6 Note that some of theme’s may not be properly displayed using tabs in sidebar as there is an additional margin added. Also we didn’t tested this element in sidebar with theme’s blocks and we can’t guarantee that it will work perfectly fine.
Thanks!
I’ve been working with the Newspaper theme with a Magazine-front page. I added a Revolution slider at the top with a stock ticker widget (http://tdhedge.meta-morphos.es/). I added a few lines of CSS to adjust the margins of the slider, but otherwise used settings available within the Visual Composer and Theme Panel. The home page displays fine on my desktop monitor, but it’s jumbled when I view it on a mobile phone. It in fact crashes the Safari mobile browser 50% of the time.
To troubleshoot the problem I installed a new WP with new a demo install of Newspaper and tried to make only the most minimal adjustments to arrive at a similar design result. This included the Revolution slider but not the stock ticker widget in the right column.
The second build (http://newstest.meta-morphos.es/) has a slightly better result, but still doesn’t appear to be smoothly responsive. Could someone view my test pages and provide some suggestions for a fix?
The primary change from stock version of the Newspaper theme was a Revolution slider at 200px high, which replaced the built-in slider on the Magazine home page.
Is there an ideal combination of settings on the Revo slider, that make it most friendly to the adjustments required when the site is viewed in responsive mobile phone mode?
Thank you
Hey nairolf,
After referring to your comment and the link provided, finally, I successfully activated the speed booster plugin and successfully moved all .JS files in the footer.
In my previous attempt, I was not able to find the correct CSS and JS ID, but this I found it. Reason?
Just discovered the real issue behind why we usually are not able to find the correct .js and .css id for adding it to the td-speed-booster.php and the issue was: I was copying text from the wrong location.
Like me, We all usually copy the “Registered .JS and Registered .CSS code” that appear on the top of the WordPress admin page where we have just added the “code” in functions.php code.
Actually, it displays only those .CSS and .JS codes that loads under WordPress Admin Dashboard panel. To find the actual codes, you must visit either your homepage or any post and then copy the “Registered .JS and Registered .CSS ” file into a text.
But in the case of CSS files, Google Pagespeed still showing various .CSS files
https://domain.com/…in/public/css/facebook-login.css?ver=7.3
https://fonts.googleapis.com/…0,700|Amiri:400,700|Lora:400,700&ver=7.3
https://fonts.googleapis.com/…italic,700,900,500italic,400,300&ver=7.3
https://domain.com/…r/assets/css/js_composer.min.css?ver=7.3
https://domain.com/…ntent/themes/Newspaper/style.css?ver=7.3
Though when I check the “View Source” of my post on Google Chrome, I can see these CSS moving from top to footer ( checked with and without adding the code and noticed the difference) , it’s just that it’s not appearing on Google Pagespeed result. Of course, I cleared all kind of Cache ( Super Cache+ Cloudflare) before checking it, but it’s not reflecting on Google Pagespeed result.
Only one .JS file still appears o some of the post, ie:
http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/akismet/_inc/form.js
Do you know ID for Akismet so that I can attempt to move it too?
One more important thing- Under some thread, somebody mentioned to search for CSS ID using “View Source” page on Google Chrome but the ID that appears on this page like :
<link rel='stylesheet' id='facebook-login-css' href='http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-facebook-login/public/css/facebook-login.css' type='text/css' media='all' />
<link rel='stylesheet' id='google-fonts-style-css' href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?
These IDs contain “-css” at the end but it doesn’t work . Actually ID as found using this method ( Point 5.2) , doesn’t contain -css in the ID and it works well.
So, one should use ‘google-fonts-style’ as CSS ID not ‘google-fonts-style-css’
Can you tell me why it’snot displaying on Google Pagespeed? Is there something else that I need to look on?
Thank you.
PS: I am planning to remove https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-analyticsjs-local/ plugin. Don’t know if it’s the reason behind low traffic

HI
Sorry for the late reply but at first sight I’ve thought the the issue was solved, the thread became very long and and I’ve missed the issue.
You can make the via visible by changing its position, use this css: http://screencast.com/t/N4FMtk5TqU
.wp-caption-text {
position: relative;
}
With regard at Speed Booster check its status here: http://screencast.com/t/elhtgWAXCh The plugin disable itself when an untested plugin is active. I am almost sure the plugin is inactive on your side because otherwise theme’s css would be in footer, Speed Booster move theme’s css by default in footer if it’s active. To keep it always activated comment or delete the indicated lines from td-speed-booster.php: http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh Also make sure that you added the correct ids for the resources which intent to move.
You can test speed booster like this without making any changes in plugin’s code: setup a wp-install only with the theme, Visual Composer and Speed Booster. With this configuration the plugin will be active by default because Visual Composer is on allowed plugins list: http://screencast.com/t/uCFJxcIAlu Check then page’s source and you will find theme’s css in footer. You can also make this test if you deactivate all plugins, except Visual Composer and Speed Booster.
Thanks!
Hello Andrei,
There was a setting in the Revo slider that when switched prevented the slides from being up-sized. I’ve played with the page margins and think I have a layout that I’m happy with.
http://tdhedge.meta-morphos.es/
Of all the many settings included in the theme, Visual Composer, and WP, I couldn’t find the setting for the page background color! I used some CSS but would be happy to know where the setting is located. Could you point that out for me?
I like the theme so far and will soon begin to fill out the content.
Thanks for your assistance!

Hello Aldemi,
Thanks for your reaching us. So, if you want to edit the structure of category page, please notice that you should edit the category top posts styles according to what type of style you are using on your side. For example, if you are using the Style 1, in td_category_top_posts_style_1.php you should inject your table content or through using the do_shoertcode method, you can add the shortcode of your plugin or everything else from Visual Composer elements. look here -> http://screencast.com/t/fngB2iCKOhhi
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
I have Newspaper 7 installed. Everything seems to work, but some of the sorting options in Visual Composer don’t work. Random posts and Oldest Posts are two examples.
I have tried this without any cache plugin, with every plugin but Visual Composer installed. I have cleaned and optimized my database, and I even tried manually adding the code to the post.
Nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?
Here’s an example:
[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_trending_now category_id=”902″ category_ids=”902″][td_block_big_grid_3][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class="td-ss-row"][vc_column width="1/3"][td_block_18 custom_title=”Vida Prática” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#1e73be” category_id=”11″ limit=”12″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][td_block_18 custom_title=”De Olho na Mídia” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#00b584″ category_id=”10″ limit=”12″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="td-td_demo_sidebar_tech"][td_block_7 custom_title="Mais Lidas" post_ids="528,486,491,220,420,509,568,490,519,515" sort="oldest_posts" limit="10"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="2/3"][td_block_1 custom_title="Doutrina Cristã" header_text_color="#ffffff" header_color="#c48211" category_id="12"][td_block_21 custom_title=”Mitos e Fatos” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#b52020″ category_id=”9″ limit=”4″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][td_block_7 custom_title="Você já leu?" sort="random_posts"][vc_wp_tagcloud taxonomy="post_tag"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][td_block_16 custom_title=”Dúvidas Comuns” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#c9b100″ category_id=”16″][td_block_16 custom_title=”Últimas Postagens” header_text_color=”#ffffff” header_color=”#145791″ limit=”10″ ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
.td-footer-description, .footer-email-wrap, .td-footer-logo{
display:none;
The code above works for hiding footer descripion and footer logo.
I have created the mobile-sidebar.php. I also created the popular post block with visual composer but I am unable to call for the block in the mobile-sidebar.php.
Block shortcode is – [td_block_21 custom_title=”Popular Posts” sort=”popular” td_ajax_preloading=”preload” ajax_pagination=”load_more”]
HI
I’ve checked your site and found a js error in browser’s console. This error may affect theme’s functionality and could be caused by a conflict between a plugin and Newspaper theme. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then test the site again. If the problem is still there try also to deactivate lazy load animation from theme panel > template settings and check how it goes: http://screencast.com/t/6jgotd4Bd
Thanks!
Hello hadharm,
If you want to frame the entire thumbnail with all meta information, you will have to replace the .td-module-thumb with the modules which are used by your displayed block. For example, if you are using the Block 1, you will have to use .td_module_4 and .td_module_6 as classes because these are used in that Block. The example of the code for this Block is here ->
.td_module_4, .td_module_6{
border: 2px solid black;
border-radius: 5px;
padding:2px;
}
For more information about Blocks/Modules, please check this section of Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/K4ctencdgg
3) Try the code below ->
@media(max-width:767px){
.footer-logo-wrap, .footer-text-wrap{
display:none;
}
}
4)To bring the most popular posts you can use a Block sorted by Popular, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/QAU0S6ClysR and for bringing the Latest commented posts, you will have to use some plugins which have this functionality or if you are an experimented person with coding, you can implement yourself this task. We cannot help you in this regard because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
5)The mobile plugin does not support the Visual Composer shortcode and therefore, you cannot use the Trending Now Block in Mobile Theme, sorry! If you want to make it to work, please do it yourself because this task requires custom work.
6)If you want to change the functionality of Related Articles you will have to alter the code from the core file, where this feature is created, like -> http://screencast.com/t/cvoGdGF5 and here -> http://screencast.com/t/xF0VeNmQW
7)If you want that you code working only for post pages, you will have to add the .single class after your code to be more precise in this regard. You can use the shortcode method to add this button, using the Visual Composer, like Text Block element. In that Block, you can add your button, and then injects the shortcode generated in VC for that element in the content, before your text, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/wHSERMLja -> http://screencast.com/t/lJS3epysxiMS
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Chris,
The snippet works but only if the Speed-Booster (tagDIV plugin) is disabled
function dequeue_visual_composer_css() {
if (is_single()) {
wp_dequeue_style('js_composer_front');
}
}
add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'dequeue_visual_composer_css', 1003);
I believe that TDC is still “green” for production, in the near future I give it a shoot
LOL…
somewhere in forum is a filter for functions to de-enqueue VC for single posts, or anything not home page. I did that before moving to the interim “shim” beta Radu did a long time back, and now the TD Composer beta (try it!). TDC gives you most of the modules from VC without all the goofy stuff, and soooooo much faster.
Don’t have the code handy, but you can de-enqueue anything, you just have to play with the “naming” of it and wrap in a if ! home statement (so, “if not home, de-enqueye pesky VC …”)
Sadly i have so zillion posts I can’t find anything of mine anymore after 3 years, so either go on safari in the forum (and pull hair out), or wait for the tagdivvy folks to repost the sneaky cool way to do that.
Hi jmask,
If you want to add a category image for each category which has template style 8, please notice that you should use a bit of CSS code in order to achieve this. So, first of all, you will have to take the category ID for what category you want to add the image and that, with the background-image rule of CSS you can add your desired image. Below, I gave you an example for one category, like this ->
The code is ->
.category-89 .td-category-header.td-image-gradient-style8 {
background-image: url(http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/login-mod.jpg);
background-size:100% 100%;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
border-color:red;
}
The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/cxIhL9poCkUC
For your second request, if you want to add some content or spot, please notice that you should use the do_shortcode method with some Visual Composer element (as an example Text Block) and then, the shortcode of it, you can add in td_category_template_8.php like this -> http://screencast.com/t/oZDdl9FjV
If you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
You should update the plugins that come with the updated theme, per the install/upgrade docs.
Be sure to clear caching, reset CDN with any updates, also.
If it “suddenly happened” two days after updating the theme could be anything: web server update, hack, etc. If you have automatic updates turned on, WP might have updated something and broken site — theme doesn’t break the site randomly 2 days after update, in my own experience (I don’t work here).
You can try
a) not using child theme
b) theme needs VC if you have used it for anything like home page; or some of the CSS isn’t there. If you’re using the beta TD Composer, then only those blocks supported by TDC will work, any “special” VC blocks will not.
c) switch to default theme
Note you have a number of errors on your site for font not loading, missing image, and “OTS” parsing error related to font not decoding. Use F12/console in chrome to see browser errors.
Dear Bogdan,
Thanks for the feedback. I have solved the composer issue.
I disagree with something you said. You said: “The messages will keep popping up to make you buy the plugin but you already have the full version.” If there is a full version installed than I should get a new version of Slider Revolution. There is a new version available, that’s the reason I get that message.
According to the plugin I am working with an outdated version: https://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380
Version 5.2.6 was released on 27/28th June 2016
I am requesting TagDiv to solve this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi team,
We are upgrading Newsmag 3.0 and we have encountered an interesting issue.
Let me tell you what is happening.
We created a new Taxonomy called Lifestyle, and through the VC, the editor can select the type of lifestyle on the listing page.
add_action( ‘admin_init’, array( ‘VisualComposerAddon’, ‘extendLifestyleOptions’ ) );
static public function extendLifestyleOptions() {
// Retrieve all Lifestyle taxonomy
$terms = get_terms( taxonomies\LifestyleTaxonomy::TAXONOMYNAME );
if( !is_wp_error( $terms ) && count( $terms ) > 0 ) {
$dropdown = array(
‘Disabled’ => ‘disabled’,
‘All Lifestyles’ => ‘all’
);
foreach( $terms as $term ) {
$dropdown[“- {$term->name}”] = $term->term_id;
}
// Param to be added
$new_param = array(
‘type’ => ‘dropdown’,
‘heading’ => ‘Filter based on lifestyle’,
‘param_name’ => ‘adv_filtering_lifestyle’,
‘group’ => ‘Filter’,
‘admin_label’ => true,
‘value’ => $dropdown,
‘description’ => __( ‘If selected, will further filter the posts based on the lifestyle.<br/>Select DISABLED to disable the filter.’, ‘vc_extend’ ),
‘save_always’ => true
);
vc_add_param( “td_block_slide”, $new_param);
}
}
We can see the new dropdown being added in the VC. However, during the front-page rendering, the system could not identify “adv_filtering_lifestyle” parameter in shortcode_to_args() function under includes/wp_booster/td_data_source.php
We have never encountered this issue up until Newsmag 2.3.6 – only after upgrading to 3.0, things start to be falling apart.
We do not want to downgrade to 2.3.6 again – as we want to keep up to date.
What possible go wrong. For your information, we have been running a child-theme of Newsmag, and includes/wp_booster/td_data_source.php has been cloned in the child-theme
