Centaur. Reason: I need it reply my results as question
Firstly i updated everything to the latest version and installed a child theme.
And I ran into the following problem.
Newspaper theme – Theme panel stopped working correctly.
Take a look – https://gyazo.com/11cddb956264c0b70e67cbbda2e7b1da
Some settings items just stopped working.
At first I thought it was because of the updates, then I rechecked everything and reinstalled it again. But it did not help.
https://gyazo.com/c84acf03c9f3ddedb7c666ce6eba926b
I have the errors when i go into the panel and try to change something.
Then using the experimentally way, I came to the fact, that this is happen because of the child theme. (This is nonsense, this should not be) If you have the opportunity, please contact technical support. Ask them to look at this problem. Maybe they will prompt a solution.
If you do not have the opportunity to contact technical support then,
Hi, ok… yes, it would be nice if you can add it in the future updates, I think is very commun and very useful for home pages to have a hero element with buttons with anchor links and scroll.
Thank you anyway 😉
There is a method to modify the theme cropping if needed, like this
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/api-thumbnail-introduction/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_thumbupdate/
Modify the thumbnails you wish and regenerate them after
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
This will regenerate existent thumbnail, all further thumbnails will be created according to the modification.
Thanks
Hello,
Sometimes i need to edit a small thing in my article. After i did and updated it, i notice that all my views are gone and the count starts from 0 again. Super annoying.
How can i solve this?
URL: ttps://www.dagonline.nl
Please advice. Thanks!
Hi. Our theme panel stop working correctly after installing the child theme. We followed all the suggestions you provided in the forum below but still have the same issue. We sent you an email to contact@tagdiv.com on Jan 28 with more info.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/theme-panel-font-settings-not-working/
Any update? Looking forward to a solution. Thanks.
That error is displayed because the code is missing a closing brace
– https://www.screencast.com/t/xoJHwGkvTy
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ibOFfGgodAw
However that code may not be necessary anymore, try to remove it and check the results. If it is needed, leave it in the theme panel custom CSS section. It will not be lost after a theme update. Nothing from the theme panel will be lost. You can even make backups of the theme panel like this
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Regarding the post template modification, if you want to modify theme files without losing the changes, you will have to use a child theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Such code modifications cannot be made in the theme panel, only directly in the theme files, or through a child theme. Check the guide, it is mentioned there which files can be modified through it.
Thanks
Hello mhshoon,
Please notice that our recommended way for installing the theme is via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. Please update the theme in that way according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for the message!
That will do the job for the moment, thanks 🙂
Any idea of the date of the next theme update?
Hey
I have just used FTP to update to newspaper 8.6 and I have also updated the plugins that followed with the update, but “tagDiv Multi-Purpose” does not work at all, so I need some help getting it to work.
It is installed and active, but does not show its functions in the “tagDiv Composer!”.
Thanks
Roberto
Hi,
This issue is on our list, it will be fixed in the next theme update. It is happening when the respective block is placed in one column only, like a sidebar. Sorry for this inconvenience.
As a quick fix in the meantime, you could modify the font size with a code like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/zvPVuE0SqsM
.td_block_21.td-column-1 .entry-title {
font-size: 10px;
}
Thanks
Hi,
If the theme is uploaded properly there should be no problem. The most recommended method in the matter is by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
You could try to reinstall the theme, reinstall all theme plugins from the latest theme package. The error seems to point to the tagDiv composer, deactivating it should have an effect.
If possible try deactivating all other plugins, leave only theme plugins active. Clear all caching after doing this and check the results.
Thanks
i think it is a wonderful feature. i hope it will be added in next update of Newsmag.
Tks !
Hello chazlight1,
Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme, installed via FTP way, update the WordPress to the latest version of it, clear all the caches and check the results. Notice that we do not have any bad reports in this case until now. I have tested on my side and the category filter works as expected, without any problems. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch to another subdomain and it the behavior will the same, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup page. Very important is to disable the untested plugins if you are using something like this.
Thanks for the message!
Hello Caesar,

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
This is the ad code Simion. It’s added to single.php file. So when I copy this CSS code in the theme panel, is it also gonna be saved and come back after an update?
Code<div class="adh">
<div class="wpb_raw_code wpb_content_element wpb_raw_html">
<div class="td-g-rec">
<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<!-- Ad boven titel -->
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
style="display:inline-block;width:320px;height:100px"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-6504940155773250"
data-ad-slot="9561713763"></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Hey Newspaper Family,
Just thought this might be useful to the ones starting a fresh new blog. I’m adding up plugins i’m currently using for my blog, feel free to add some to the list:
- Akismet Anti-Spam (to stop spam comments without adding them to your comment approval page)
- All In One WP Security (simple wp security for your website)
- Contact Form 7 (i have never used it, but yeah it might be handy)
- Envato Market (to keep your theme updated with Newspaper directly)
- External Links (super seo plugin, automatically prevents any external link from passing juice of your website to another for google ranking)
- GTmetrix for WordPress (checks page speed directly from plugin here)
- Heartbeat Control (ignore if you are not moderately good with tech. This one removes a lot of load from your cpanel of hosting)
- Inline Related Posts (adds beautiful in-line related posts automatically by extracting from tags and categories)
- Jetpack by WordPress.com (obvious)
- Mashshare Share Buttons (kinda good, especially has ability to add fake number of shares)
- OneSignal Push Notifications (a must get app! sends notification to mobile as well desktop users that you have published a post, just get this one)
- Regenerate Thumbnails (obvious)
- Remove Query Strings From Static Resources (speeding up website)
- SumoMe (for beginners, yeah this is super one, their tutorials explain everything)
- Table of Contents Plus (adds beautful TOC in your posts automatically using headings in a hierarchy)
- WP Smush (for image optimization)
- WP Super Cache (supports Cloudfare, one reason i preferred it over w3 total cache)
- WP-Optimize (cleans database and makes your hosting cleaner)
- Yoast SEO (obvious)
Apart from that, please do add free SSL certificate by Cloudfare, and setup free CDN by Cloudfare for your website. It boosts speed you will love to see.
Regards
Dr.Varun
Hi,
Sorry for the misunderstanding, indeed the hero elements has buttons but they do not have a scroll to class feature, at the moment. That option is specific to the button element only.
This might be added in future updates however. Sorry if this is an inconvenience for you.
Thanks
Hi,
The authors box can be used on pages built with the composer, or as a widget in sidebars for example.
The team member is one of the many multi-purpose elements introduced in the 8.5 theme update. The multi-purpose plugin was made available, to be used together with the tagDiv composer. It ads many items and functionality to the builder
– https://www.screencast.com/t/mx9RDI5pckCr
Thanks
Hi,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Regarding the single image, you could set the image size to contain in the settings
– https://www.screencast.com/t/onbQbFDl
That would produce better results for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/TTJcRpb20B
Even a text element would do the job – https://www.screencast.com/t/7pVnbXqm
Or you could try some other elements that can display images, check the result with them
– https://www.screencast.com/t/2SotlnJGthNE
Most of those elements are added by the multi-purpose plugin introduced in a previous theme update. I see you use an older version of the theme, you will have to update in order to use them.
The theme by default will not display the last updated date of the posts. That could only be done with a plugin maybe, or with a few modifications in the theme files. This is a similar topic mentioning the necessary changes
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/post-last-updated/
Thank you!
Hello,
I just updated the newspaper theme from an older version 7.4 to the latest one, I created a new folder for that with a different name (newspaper1) and uploaded the new theme there, then activated. All good expect when I checked the website on my mobile I got this error right below the main menu and blocks are not showing :
Fatal error: Call to undefined method vc_row::set_font_settings() in /home4/u5k5z9h5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/tdc_composer_block.php on line 36
Desktop version works fine.
I tried to disactivate the tag div composer plugin but the error is still there.
Thanks
Thanks, I hope you will implement an option to deactivate Google Fonts. The way it is now, Newspaper theme forces me to install a plugin for cookie notice even if I do not want third party cookies at all on my website in the future.
I am also not sure if a cookie notice is sufficient at all, because the new EU Regulation demands that “visitors actively agree” to the storing of their data.
Forgive me, I don’t want to sound demanding or mess around. This is just, because I see a major issue which has to be solved for this wonderful theme.
I also would understand to pay for such an updated version.
Thanks and best regards
Ernst
What is the best way to add the same text to the bottom of every post? I’ve seen some plugins but all of them are outdated and I don’t know how compatible they are with this theme. I guess I could update the posts.PHP file but I’m not 100% sure. Thank you.
Hi,
The issue was fixed in theme version 8.2 since it was discovered, following the WordPress update. If that !important tag is still present in the theme stylesheet in your case, it means that you are using an older version. The theme since that release does not have the mentioned parameter in the stylesheet
– https://www.screencast.com/t/EKzXZZOXwwV
Thanks
Thanks a lot ! I really don’t know why I have div tags everywhere instead of p tags but anyway with the proposed code update, it works perfectly, thanks !
