Hey Simon,
It seems to still happen sometimes. Definately on mobile – see screenshot:
https://gyazo.com/8905b9ec2e65ab3f02c51e9cd2a9f878
(thats landscape view on iphone5, portrait the featured image was full width and the caption layout was correct.) Also same issue on ipad.
I think it also happens when i am logged in to the WP dashboard and looking at the frontend site pages.
Running theme version 8.5.1 with all updated plugins.
Thanks,
Killian
Hello, I have installed the new update for newspaper8.5 When I try to install the plugin tagDiv Composer. This is the message,I get.Download failed. Forbidden Suggestions please.
Hello,
the same here.
After the last update – 6th December – the theme continue to restore the following demo images even if I delete them every time:
– tdm_pic_1.jpg
– tdm_pic_2.jpg
– tdm_pic_3.jpg
– tdm_pic_4.jpg
– tdm_pic_5.jpg
– tdm_pic_6.jpg
– tdm_pic_7.jpg
– tdm_pic_8.jpg
So strange and unexpected. It happens ONLY with these images, if I delete my own images, they don’t appear again.
Demo images are restored every time even if I delete them.
Is it possible to fix this issue?
Thank you!
Hi,
There are many elements that were introduced in the latest theme version. These are added by the multi-purpose plugin
– https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0ARTSimnUY&t=4s
Buttons and are available as well, with multiple settings. If you did not update already, please consider updating the theme to be able to use these elements

Thanks
Hi,
There was an issue similar to what you are mentioning, after the WordPress 4.9 update. We fixed this issue among others, in version 8.2. Starting from that theme version this problem with the image captions is not happening anymore. In Newsmag this was fixed as well beginning with version 4.2.
Please consider updating the theme to the latest version.
Thanks
Hi,
There was an issue with the captions on post images, it happened after the WordPress update. We fixed the issue among others, starting with version 8.2 of the theme so there should not be any problem.
Seems the issue is fixed at the moment from what I can see

Hello,
Unfortunately the files in your child theme will have to be updated as well and the customization re-applied as a child theme is not update proof. Please update your theme to the latest version by using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then re-create your child theme with the current theme files and re-apply the customization.
Thank you!
Hi,
The mobile can either be active as a whole, it cannot be activated only for some elements. This plugin is useful if you wish to display a different and simpler version of the website.
It is not required to have it active, when inactive the same content from desktop will be displayed (default responsive version).
As of the previous theme update an option was introduced in the composer, you can now choose to hide rows or certain elements on mobile for example

That would be a solution to remove the slider on mobile. The iframes could be modified with code maybe, if you could provide an example it would be helpful.
The footer will be the same as on desktop however, I could not say how you could make changes to it. Maybe that would be possible with custom code as well, depending on what you want to do.
Thanks
Hello,
You have to update the theme to the latest version (8.5.1) (use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/) and please also disable and delete the multi-purpose plugin you currently have.
Then install it again from the theme plugins section but only after you update the theme.
If the problem is still there please check if admin-ajax.php is not blocked by your host.
Thank you!
Hi,
This will be implemented in the theme in a future update. I could give you a solution if this is required, in the meantime. Paste this code

In this file here – https://www.screencast.com/t/2Js2sDc5P6cQ
Thanks
Hi,
Please make sure you have updated the plugins provided in the theme package. Specially the multi-purpose plugin. Deactivate and remove it and install it again from the latest theme package.
Then check if the mobile theme works correctly. Let us know if there still is a problem.
Thanks
As of today , the theme panel on our site is not working at all. Clicking on any item on the side menu does nothing and loads no options. This was discovered when trying to update an ad. Site is running theme version 8.5 WordPress version 4.9 please advise.
please note all parameters in php have been updated to accommodate the theme.
Hi and merry christmas!
I need update my theme from 8.2 to 8.5.1 and i ask an advice to avoid big problem.
I have a:
–> master theme (this is 8.2 and i need to update to 8.5.1)
–> child theme (this have many custom code)
Can i do these 2 step:
1) update the plugin with new release (example: Visual Composer).
2) Overwrite the theme folder with the 8.5.1 release.
Really thanks.
Update: it seems that it was fixed by itself. Thanks for your time.
Only way to manipulate mobile is to have that plugin on?
There are elements I need to update with the plugin on, but elements I want show with it off. How do I make this work?
I feel rather stupid now!! Thank You so much. I put the ACF in the ‘loop-single2.php’ just below the content and it’s spot on! Thank you ever so much 🙂
May I ask… if the theme gets updated, would this template get overwritten? Should I create a new, specific template for my posts? The posts that need the ACF are in one, specific category.
Once again, thanks for your assistance! 🙂
I have the same problem since the update. Not really sure what Edward is suggesting?
Even yesterday morning everything was OK.
Then yesterday evening everything went wrong.
Last plugin update has been done for regenerate-thumbnails.
The only possibility to screen my web page http://www.okultura.cz/WordPress/ was to disable td-composer plugin directory.
I have installed the latest version of Newpaper theme as well as plugins and upload them all in WordPress directories via SFTP.
It did not help at all.
Nothing works now.
Any idea?
Martin

My authors like bg image on category archive pages. However it is not apear on mobile view ( responsive version of the Newspaper theme – not the mobile-theme ! )
It is requested on mobiles, tablets, smart tv’s, mobile_view — both on landscape and portfolio view.
Could you give any idea, how to make it or if its planned in any future updates?
eg.: ( on desktop ) https://1000wordsmagazine.com/category/elet/
Thank you, Zoltan
Hi, after update to newest version of Newspaper I have a problem with image size in a sidebar on this page http://korenizivota.cz/kontakt/. The pictures are not adjusted and they are cropped. How can I change image size and prevent cropping (image should be square)?
Thanks,
Filip
Hi all,
The single post template displays the publication date below the title. I’d like to add the time to that, so that it read something like December 22, 2017 / 3:40 pm. Here’s the current date HTML:
<time class="entry-date updated td-module-date" datetime="2017-12-22T13:04:43+00:00">December 22, 2017</time>
Can sometime tell me which theme file I need to edit, and which PHP code would give me that? Thanks.
