Please make sure you also update wp super cache and only use these settings: install-and-configure/
WP super cache is a tested plugin and it works fine with our theme. I have just tested it again and there are no issues showing up. There is something else affecting your site that in combination with wp super cache breaks the layout. Please also test this on a sub-domain with a fresh install of the theme and wp super cache. Without any additional plugins or optimization.

At the moment only the article inline ad can be positioned or aligned in the post content. This option may be added for the other article ads in future updates, but I cannot say for sure when it will happen.

Please keep in mind that what you want to do is a BIG update and the theme will be broken because it is totally another theme, sorry!

In order to achieve the best results after you will install the latest update you have to follow some rigorous steps like this -> you have to delete both of your themes, child theme, and main theme. All your customizations from your Newspaper 4 theme will do not work because all the files from this were changed in Newspaper 8.1 and as the main theme and also you lose all changes.

The Newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme so an update from 4 to 8.1 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).

Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come bundled with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.

The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom CSS will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them. Bottom line is that newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme built from scratch.

Unfortunately, you will have to clear your agenda and spare a bit of time to adjust all your settings to the new version of the theme.

The tagDiv composer is installed and activated when the theme is installed or updated. If you do not want to use it, deactivate and delete it from the plugins section or simply deactivate it. Also remove it from this location (or cut and paste it to a different place)

My advice is to make a new clean install to your theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of these and leave just only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and exclude any conflicting plugins. After each theme update, you should make a full backup to your database.

I believe the request for more article ads is already added to the list. However I cannot specify when exactly the option will be implemented and made available. Each update is meant to provide more theme options. It is hard for the developer team to decide what gets added as soon as possible, and what gets postponed.

They will still have support for when we implement restrictions for the expired periods 🙂

Users that do not extend their support period will only benefit from theme updates but they will no longer receive theme support, meaning answers from us. We have not implemented this yet, but it is planned for the future.

The Revolution slider plugin as well as the Visual composer editor plugin are provided pre-activated in the theme package, and you do not have to activate either of these. You already have full access to the plugin features and you can use it without activation. Updates for the plugins bundled within the theme package will be included in the theme updates.
Please ignore any at all activation messages from Revolution slider and Visual composer.It’s just a missing condition from the plugin authors for these versions and we cannot make any changes to the plugins as it will break the license agreement we have with the plugin authors.

This is because of the new page builder plugin which installs automatically. You should not keep both the visual composer and tagdiv composer active at the same time. Please update your theme and pick the builder you want to use and disable the other. If you want to move from visual composer to the tagdiv composer, please use this guide:

Please notice that if you have one license purchased, you will have access to all the updates. Also, please notice that we do not recommend the automatic updates because it is not a safe way for updating your theme, every time. Our recommended way for updating your theme is via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. The Visual composer plugin is included in the theme package. You do not have to activate this plugin. Please disregard any activation messages, Visual composer can be used without any problems

Hi,

Please go to your plugins section, and deactivate the tagDiv composer. This new editor will be activated by default when the theme is updated or installed.
After deactivating it, everything should be displayed like before. In some cases, having both Visual composer and tagDiv composer active can cause issues for some elements.
