Can I lose my modifications? (when I update?) I have not made any changes to the theme files itself. The theme files are as they were before, I have only made the social media icons a little bigger using the CSS panel available in the theme panel? rest of the changes are just the arrangement of blocks, grids, logos etc. nothing to fancy.
I may lose these things worries me?
After the last update of the theme, Firefox and IExplorer do not show all the posts in the author page (entreparentesis.org/author/whatever). The bio and photo are there, and also the old posts, but not the last ones. In Chrome it works well in some computers but has the same problem in others. Any clue?

Yes, you should wait for the official release of the new Visual composer version in the theme package. The new plugin version will be tested and it will work properly with the theme.
Updating before the new plugin update is supported may cause problems, like the one you experienced.

I deleted the updated version and installed the older version. That fixed the problem.
So now I won’t update until I’m sure there will be no errors regarding the update.

The issue can occur if get_row_css_class or add_shortcode_param was used in the theme. These functions were deprecated in past and your theme is still using it. You can contact the theme author to get rid of these from the theme so that the issue will be fixed at your end.

First of all, check your theme version to be the latest one and also, check the required plugins to be updated if you want to achieve best theme results. Also, please ensure that your FB ID is a valid one and ensure that is a public page.

As I see it, you use visual composer on posts. The image issue happens because you use visual composer on posts and now have updated the theme and have both plugins active. Please only use one page builder and not both at the same time. The tagdiv composer plugin activates automatically in newspaper 8 so please disable it if you do not want to use it.

A child theme is provided in the theme package. You can use that to customize the theme, without making changes in the main theme files. Please not that not all the theme files can be overwritten by the child theme. If you make modifications to the theme files directly, you will lose them when you update the theme.

I have 3 problems:
The 1. problem appeared before the update.
All icons aren’t showing correctly on the frontend and also on the backend. There are only showing some Chinese symbols and also rectangles.

Please consider adding integration with the popular Recaptcha plugins or added to core files for future Newspaper updates. This would be huge for your customers and future customers! Due to brute force attacks, Recaptcha is a must-have. The login/register popup is beautifully done, I would love to use it, but the only hang up is the must-have Recaptcha.
One of most annoying things about WordPress is that even popular plugins like Theme My Login or AJAX Login don’t have Recaptcha for both login and register. Have spent hours searching the internet for plugins that do this and haven’t found many, sans installing a bunch of stuff I don’t need – just need the Recaptcha + register/login. It would be a huge selling point for Newspaper theme to add Recaptcha integration.
