If there would be an easy solution I would provide you with one. Like I said, maybe more custom post type capabilities will be added in the theme in future updates, we will just have to wait and see.

Changes to the parent theme are not recommended so I don’t change any code from the original source. Any update and it gets destroyed 😉
I changed the category.php file in the child theme and added the_archive_description(); So it gets printed.
But this way I can’t use the newspaper styles, that can be changed in theme panel. Maybe you find a way the category pages could be filled with content – that would be a huge bennefit for all SEOs and a great point on your featurelist 😉

It seems the update was not done properly. The images are indeed missing but so is the markup for them. This does not seem to be a theme issue. Please switch to a wp default theme and see if the images still work. The theme does not have the ability to remove your content.

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Also I saw that it is a Theia post slider. Please note that it was not tested with our theme. We only tested Revolution Slider so I cannot say for sure if a plugin update did not break the slider and if it will work properly at all with our theme. I cannot say for sure about untested plugins.

There were changes to the gallery and lightbox feature in Woocommerce, in the latest plugin updates. They are disabled by default as the article mentions and they can be enable by adding the code for the respective feature in the theme functions file, or in the child theme functions file if you have a child theme. It appears that this link leads to a 404 – is there any particular reason why this guide has gone missing?
Our Radio Station in Vancouver BC, Canada is using your the Newspaper theme and we had been using DFP with a couple of workarounds that I had setup. It appears now after ~ a week or so of using the updated Newspaper 8 theme our ads have somehow stopped delivering ads.
Any further insight to this would be greatly appreciated, even if there was a way to start with being able to view this users guide in how they had accomplished this in comparison to the workaround that I had created.

I just updated my theme to 8.0 version and everything seems alright but there is an important issue inall my pages. The content appears full width as you can see here:
and the organization of the modules, widgets, etc. is not correct. Categories pages are OK and so are the posts.

Can’t find much information on this issue. I created a tagdiv slide gallery published the post with the size set to “thumbnail”, then realizing I wanted the photos full size went back and changed it to full size and updated it. The photos were still cropped strange. I tried regenerating thumbnails but that still hasn’t fixed it.
Not sure where to go from here or if I need to give any more information.

I just updated one of my sites to Newspaper 8 but I’m running into a few issues. I’d like to open a discussion about them here in case anyone else can use some help with similar problems.
When I try to use the new TD Composer, all I’m seeing is a blank page, and I’m unable to drag & drop any elements (as shown in picture below).

I’ve deactivated all plugins, combinations of plugins, flushed cache from site & browser, tried two separate browsers (chrome & firefox) but the issue persists. Any ideas are much appreciated!
Also, is it possible to increase the width of the site?

Most likely something happened when you updated the theme if you did. A theme reinstall like described should fix the issue. Be sure to make a backup before just to be safe. Please let us know how it goes.

Sorry for the inconvenience but in this update, was been made some adjustments at the theme activation system and that could be the reason in this case. Try to re-download the theme from Theme Forest and activate again your theme by your item purchase code.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to add these effect to your background of your homepage, sorry! You should try finding a plugin with this functionality and see how it will work for you or if you want to add it and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry!
I have added this possible feature to our list of improvements but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not though.

I have inspected your website and I did not saw any problem with it. Also, I noticed that you are not using the latest theme version -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3NkKTGHA. Did you downgrade the theme to this version? If you want to achieve best theme results, you should update the theme to the latest theme version (v8) via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. Those pagination styles are not available for the search and author page. They are only available for blocks, category pages etc. There are no options to change the pagination in this cases. Maybe more options will be added in future theme updates, but I could not say when this will happen.

The category pages are not available for edit at the moment. The category templates can only be customized through the theme panel. These templates can be found in the theme folder here – https://www.screencast.com/t/kitUM93y
If you would like to add content to a category page you could enter it directly in the category template file. You can find multiple solutions here on the forum. Here are a few

I have no solution if that particular plugin does not work with the theme. Some plugins are simply not compatible. Not all themes and plugins offer the same level of compatibility unfortunately.
Maybe in future updates the category pages may offer options for more advanced customization, but I could not say for sure when this will happen.

We have not had similar reports of problems with the theme update. I don’t know what could be causing this kind of issues with your website, and also have an impact on the database. A clean theme install and using only the bundled plugins should work properly.

After upgrading from Newspaper 6.7 to 8.0 my site has crashed completely.
I have put a request to email support 24 hours ago to please look at it and included my login co-ordinates .
This is the error message I get when trying to activate the 8.00 theme.

Update: Please disregard question #3. I fixed the problem by regenerating a secret key for the Facebook app.
With respect to question #1, the rendering of the single image on my home page displays an image crop in Chrome and Safari. It appears just fine in Firefox.
