The update shouldn’t affect the site if you follow the documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ However if made any changes in theme’s core files they will be lost during the update and you will have tore-add them. The code from theme panel, if you have some, and site’s content won’t be affected by update.
Before making any changes in your site make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups This is a security measure, in case something goes wrong you can always get back to previous version.

If you still can’t mange to update the theme using wp dashboard try to login on the server via ftp, navigate to your-wp-install/wp-content/themes and delete Newspaper folder. After this step is completed you can try to upload Newspaer.zip file in your wordpress or directly upload Newspaper folder via ftp. After the last update for me the mobile theme is not working prorperly too. My mobile gets broken.

And I’ve updated it following the guide you have provided.

To access the server via ftp you fill need a ftp-client interface like filezilla for example: https://filezilla-project.org/ Also follow the host’s documentation for more details about how can you access the ftp and c-panel if you have it available.
You ca also upload the theme in your wordpress from dashboard. Please refer to our documentation in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Please make sure that you update the theme, main theme, according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then try to activate Mobile theme plugin again.

Previously you guys just resolved my issue on this but after Newspaper 7.4 update again I m seeing the delay in loading up. Again I m seeing Blue colour instead of my own custom set colour.

Please resolve my issue.

I guess, I am in need of the new script to place on style.css for the new newspaper 7.4 updates.

Thank you for the reply Catalln. I tried to find the controls you used in the picture that you referenced but they are not in the copy of Visual Composer that I have. Or at least I couldn’t find them after going through the plugin. And when I try to update/activate Visual Composer I get a message that I need to purchase a license of Visual Composer. So what should I do now?

like I said: If the plugin was updated recently, in the next theme update you’ll have it.

2 & 3 Theme itself and bundled plugins works 100%, if u use another third plugins (take care, not all plugins are compatible and maybe broke some functionality).

Dear nalfolf, thanks for taking your time to respond to one of the three issues that i raised. I would like to let you know that i already knew that the VC plugin in free before making my purchase. However i don’t understand why its asking me for update after installation. As i mentioned i have deleted it twice and installed it afresh from the plugins folder that came with the theme that i bought but still the same problem. Thats why am asking for help!

2. Also My thumbnails are greyed out! I have followed the steps on your tutorial and installed Regenerate Thumbnails plugin. Which regenerated all the images successfully but they are still greyed out. I need Help!!!

Please notice that you do not need any licenses for Visual Composer because this plugin is a built-in plugin and the licence of it will come bundled with our theme. If you want to have the latest version of it you will have to download the latest version of the theme which is available on Theme Forest. With the latest version will come bundled all the required plugins in the latest version of them.

¡With the last theme version you’ll have the latest or almost last version of Visual Composer!

Call me crazy; but adding a section/tab in the theme panel “update plugins” might be useful to explain these same topics that come up over and over (and over).

Info on installing optional plugs are there, but maybe links to “how to update” in forum would be good, too.

You are probably aware, but having multiple browser tabs open often slows things down, contrary to the supposed sandboxing. I’ve run into this where one tab locked up due to Facebook or an ecom site due to all the cookies, active updates, notify attempts, tracking, etc.

Probably not the issue. But I have run into that. Especially with Safari. Chrome, too. Firefox is a p.o.s. for most things, which is why I refuse to use it anymore. My PCs have only been compromised twice in 20 years, both with FF.
