Which version of V.C. are you using?
Have you checked security of your other plugins? Did you update Yoast SEO which had security flaw? Did you update/delete old version of Revolution Slider from early 2014?
Have you renamed your main login from “admin” and deleted that user? … did you change all user passwords to “strong” passwords after intrusion?
are you using “limit login attempts” plugin or similar?
Are you using WordPress 4.2 — 3.9 has security issues. Make sure you have latest version of WordPress.
Have you deleted old plugin folders and old theme folders you’re not using? Old insecure plugins with vulnerabilities can still be executed directly.
Have you tried using something like WordFence if your site is so vulnerable?
Is your server using CSF or other firewall to block port scans and flooding, to totally block bad hat IPs from multiple intrusion attempts?
You need to be aware of ALL such issues, and not just ONE plugin. You can also check the forum for VC on their website(s) for info on the “changelog” for any security issues, and also check SECURI to see if one of your plugins may be vulnerable “right now.”

If you use 1.7 version of the theme please replace the code inside – http://screencast.com/t/hm0F7lQ36llA – with this code – http://pastebin.com/7VKde8LB as was reported an issue with the custom ads, we could not replicate it yet to see what’s causing it, we will replace it in the next update.

We’re sorry for all the trouble. We are still working on implementing solution for the issues reported in the latest version and we also plan to build and add a switching on/off system for lazy loading feature which could be the issues in your case also so you could try to disable it following the instructions Emil provide in this tread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-disabled-lazy-load/#post-42260 …then check again.

1.7 crashed my Visual Composer. After trying for some time I got it to work, but now it doesn’t again.
I created a supportcase with Visual Composer, that after visiting my site told me that the theme crashed the VC plugin.
When can we expect a 1.8 update, or at least a 1.7.1 🙂 ?

Please try without any plugins active leave just Visual Composer active, empty cache and check if you still have this issue. Also make sure that your child theme is update to the version of the theme.

Hello i am wondering if any one can assist me.
Since updating newsmag to the latest versionmy social counters no longer appear.
I have uninstalled and re-stalled the plugin, re-installed the template and it still does not appear.
when i add the widget within widgets i get the following message.

My staff has been experiencing a horrible bug with our site, VictoryPoint.TV. Some can’t login at all, while some are able to login through the admin login. We’re caught in a bind, because I personally love this theme, but we might need to shift to another theme if we don’t find a solution soon.
Is there a new version of theme available?
Do I need to update VC again?

For a future update, I think it could be a good idea just to add a small note next to the Background Color option saying “Selecting a background colour disables full-width functionality” – or something like that.

That is because you’re using the newsmag theme not newspaper. For newsmag there is no option to change the footer text color just the background color.
We have this on our todo list for the next update, until then you can use custom css to change it, like this: http://screencast.com/t/C7OXJJTm
Use the css below and just change the color into the one you want, add it in theme panel > custom css section:

As you can see the footer is the right color, but I cannot change the text color to black or grey. There is just no option for it. There is only an option to change the “sub-footer” text, which I have tried but it ultimately doesn’t change what I need.

I did update the child theme, but still couldn’t get it to work! Even when I included nothing in the directory except for the below style.css file, no content would show on my page.
I’m curious whether anyone else has experienced this?
Chris, I appreciate hearing that it just might not be worth it to use a child theme at this stage in the theme’s development…maybe I will just let myself off the hook for now and try to implement it during a later version!

Unfortunately you will need to update also the child theme like Christopher suggested, as you have updated the theme from version 3 of Newspaper and there were some changes as you can see in the update_log.txt file(from theme files downloaded from themeforest).
