We did not make an official update, because the reported problem was related to the tagDiv Composer plugin in the theme, this being fixed and uploaded on our server, from where it can be installed the theme plugins (Newspaper-> Plugins => https://www.screencast.com/t/xX2HgvQLySE ).
When an official update is made the package off ThemeForest is replaced with the latest version of the theme plugins with all the fixes and implementations of the plugins (if it had been an official theme update, then only one issue would have been resolved).

I just explained you above that you are not able to customize so much the mobile theme version. So, unfortunately, you can not move the elements on the page, but what you can do there is to deactivate some elements(show/not): https://www.screencast.com/t/mrZoW8PdiQUm
Also, with mobile theme plugin enabled, you can not change your footer.
The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. The fatal error is usually caused when you have an old version of WordPress.

Yes, it is possible that the theme and plugins update automatically, but the option is not set in the theme, the option is provided by your host, so you need to ask your host if the auto-update option is enabled.

In the most cases the issue was the update of the plugins also: new theme update and old plugin versions.
I’m glad that you could update the theme successfully and had no issue with the new update. Normally, it should be no problem because we tested before as possible as we could and we are still improving more and more Newspaper theme.

So, the mobile responsive is what you see then that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).

Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin not.

We only updated the tagDiv Composer plugin, it was reported that the problems were due to it, but for GiveWP we need more information about the problem caused and how it interacted with the theme before the update and how it works now if you could provide us with this information.
Also, if your developer thinks he has found a solution, please provide us with that information so that I can pass it to our developers to test and provide a fix for the problem.

Unfortunately, there is a big difference between version v8.8.1 to version 10.4.
I recommend that you update the theme on a staging website and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the look of the website.

Indeed there seems to be a problem with the “Sign in/Join” on responsive version, we’ll fix this in the coming theme update. As a quick fix until then, you can try this custom
