After updating to 10.4 in a test environment a number of errors occurred. For example, TD Composer was no longer working and messing up all pages with shortcodes.
I did some testing and found out that the problem seems to be the theme’s internal update process. Following the instructions for manual update given here: https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme everything works fine. It looks like the update routine is not deleting or replacing all the files.
If you are facing issues try this:
- Delete all files from theme folder (wp-content/themes/Newspaper/) via ftp or cpanel.
- Download Installable WordPress Theme from envato
- Unzip and upload the new files to theme folder via ftp or cpanel
- Login to theme panel and update and activate the required plugins
- Clear Cache

Since the latest update I noticed that my header/navigation template breaks when I want to view a page with a post loop when there are no posts in the loop.
It gives a few errors starting with Trying to get property ‘ID’ of non-object followed by a file and a line number.
I already tried deactivating all plugins, expect for the necessary ones to show the page design, but without effect.
What is causing this issue?

Facing the same problem. I like the options preview in the 10.4 update but I guess I’ll have to rollback
So, I’m not really that great when it comes to the technical side of things. All I can say is that I purchased the Newspaper theme and customized it 7-8 months back and it’s been working fine. Today, when I checked my site, everything is not working and I can’t even access some of my pages. The website is called bakasenpai.net

These are some of the errors I’m getting

td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: single_template_8 is not set.

I really don’t know what to do. Please offer some guidance.
I have managed to fix the issue. I was using the standard pack when I first customized the site, but for some reason, the latest update did not automatically install and update said pack.
Also why can’t the updates be automatic? And the standard pack should be auto-updated with the rest of the plugins. I don’t want to manually do it every time there’s an update especially if I might have missed the notification.

It seems, from the Newspaper PRO Demo that you sorted out the passive listener issue (at least it does not show in the PSI tests).
Sadly, this is something that didn’t come to us with the update, as Google insists in warning us about that.
Do you know how to fix it? Can the fix be shared?

I just updated the site but got “ajax error” with tagdiv standard pack plugin. My site is now broken, layout is nonusable so I want to downgrade theme back to 10.3.9.1. But as I go to update panel of Newspaper theme and select 10.3.9.1. theme it redirect me to WordPress update panel, where it says that I need to select a theme that i want to update, but there aren’t any themes available.
So my question is, how can i downgrade the theme to 10.3.9.1?

Our developers reduced the size of this file in the new update as much as they could.
A solution for this issue could be to use some plugins for that, but unfortunately, we don’t have a tested plugin yet to achieve that, so we can’t say if it will work or not. You will have to test and see.

LCP on some pages is over 5 seconds We have over 2 million hits a month on this site, and in excess of 1500 articles so just switching it over isn’t a 2-minute exercise, although I’m now starting to wish it was.
What I’d like is for you to actually live up to the claims you make about your template’s speed.

Please if you use a plugin cache, then clear all cache and check the results.
Normally without a cache plugin, it should update once per day, with a cache plugin it can take some more time.
Unfortunately, for Instagram, our team is working on the issue, but you can set the Instagram fixed count with tagDiv Composer => https://www.screencast.com/t/In8UL9Q92n until the issue is resolved.

I saw when updating the plugins, you got an error, so this can be from the firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request.

Please update the theme to version 10.4 on a subdomain of the website and see if the problem persists.

The tagDiv CSS Analyzer to be able to do the complete analysis takes longer (8-9 minutes), so I can’t say exactly why it stopped.
The tagDiv CSS Analyzer first, it removes all the unused CSS, then, from the final clean CSS, it generates the Critical CSS and automatically moves the non-critical one to the bottom of the page;

As above, there are no option for this in theme panel or under welcome bla bla the td composer doesnt work so i guess I need an update running 9.8 at the moment newspaper
