Please make sure that you make the update according to our documentation -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ make sure that after you update the theme, you do the same for the theme plugins.
If there is still a problem, please provide some more details, some screenshots an a Link where i can inspect these problems.

In Newspaper 10.3.1 our developers inserted an option of theme update, in this way we want to prevent these problems.

In order to make the them more flexible and to use less resource, our developers split the theme in standard pack, that contain the classic blocks and templates and tagDiv Cloud library, that is more flexible, load only necessary fonts and is faster then standard pack, also using cloud templates you no longer need a child theme for editing the website layout, you can use tagDiv Composer to adjust the layout, add/remove elements.

Please notice that we do not recommend the changes in theme files, these can damage and will be lost when you’ll make a theme update, if you need to use some code inside the them files you can use a child theme.

Also please note that there is no need to make changes in them files for this option, now our theme now has a last modified date for posts, if you use single post templates from tagDiv Cloud Library and edit it with tagDiv Composer – http://prntscr.com/nqygjo
The default publish date element should be removed, and the modified date entered in the post template. Google should pick this up eventually.

I just checked your website with my mobile and everything seems to be working normal -> https://i.imgur.com/MIkWGjX.png -> https://i.imgur.com/ZsBycYZ.png if the problem persist, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and check again.

2. I think that you are referring to these -> https://i.imgur.com/oAhhOdT.png you need to edit theme using tagDiv Composer, click to edit the page like this -> https://i.imgur.com/VeqNcSP.jpg click on them and make the adjustment -> https://i.imgur.com/fs8nssQ.jpg

3. The background image from your homepage is set only for the first row -> https://i.imgur.com/g0Rms0p.png this background image is set on row like this -> https://i.imgur.com/swcgxja.jpg

4. Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

5. These can be change from Theme Panel > Footer, in order to access theme, if you are using a cloud footer like this -> https://i.imgur.com/uwZsNL8.png you need to remove it until you make these settings -> https://i.imgur.com/V41sqds.png save the settings -> https://i.imgur.com/V41sqds.png after that set back the cloud footer and save again.
If you are using the last version of Newspaper, v10.3.2 you can make all these directly from mobile theme plugin -> https://i.imgur.com/CTfAVTB.png

Yes, you can update to WordPress 5.4 but you need to update the Newspaper theme too, the last version is v10.3.2 in this way there will no appear problems.
