Also, front page now has tons of errors all asking for tagdiv to be activated. So front page looks horrible and non-functional.

Hi Calin, I’ve seen you guys already creating pages.
Can you give me an ETA on this?
We need to launch this website next week and this is one of the pending items as there are a lot of buttons that need to be updated/fixed.

Thanks for all your help.

Best regards,

I am curious if my question is going unanswered, because my support contract has expired?

I’ve discovered that if I update a post by converting the “classic” block containing all the text, into a new document split into paragraph blocks, then the paragraph spacing is rendered correctly.

Hello,

I have an inquiry from a client about the current U.S. spike in lawsuits over compliance with the “Americans with Disabilities Act.” This current spike is so dramatic here (USA) that some are arguing that it is more akin to troll lawsuits whereby opportunistic plaintiffs are only interested in monetization of minor infractions, not whether or not anyone complies with ADA.

My only standard of reference is W3C’s web content accessibility guidelines which now finds itself somewhat outdated due to careless deregulation by our government. Here are those:

https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/quickref/

These former WCAG guidelines are rather large in scope and would prove quite time consuming to try to go through and a) understand the complexity of all specifications, and b) proceed to turn over every stone. I say that because even then it might prove moot due to the deregulation I mentioned.

I advised my client that I would run this topic by you and get your thoughts. Embarrassingly, I must also mention that this client’s theme version is quite old due to their previous experience of certain theme updates breaking their site. This has caused an over-hesitance with updating every time a new theme update is released. They are currently on Newspaper v7.8.

How compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act or, even, European disabilities regulations is tagDiv’s efforts with these themes (Newspaper and Newsmag)? I assume you all know about the W3C guidelines I mentioned and I’m interested in how safe you would consider a customer site using the Newspaper theme with these (potential) lawsuit trolls out there looking to monetize any infraction, however minor.

Thanks very much!

Dan

Hi,

since the update to 9.7.1 I am having problems with the backend (http://domainname/wp-admin/ or any page from the backend… on SOME browsers:
Edge (solved after deactivating / activating TD composer plugin)
Opera
Chrome
Firefox: is ok

They throw following error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /path/20/d1111111/htdocs/aaaa/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php:1311) in /path/20/d1111111/htdocs/aaaa/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1251

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /path/20/d1111111/htdocs/aaaa/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php:1311) in /path/20/d1111111/htdocs/aaaa/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1254

A little weird is the fact that my other domain with NEWSPAPER installed does not have that issue.
I did clear browser caches, even installed e.g. OPERA freshly on another computer, and still get the error on all machines running OPERA or CHROME.
I reinstalled all THEME files and the Theme panel confirms I am running 9.7.1.
I deactivated the child theme but no difference.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank

Hello! So by default, I know the header search bar searches the local wordpress. Now what if I want the header search bar to search a different website? For example, the website is http://a.com and there is a header search on it, but I want for when users type something into the search bar, it sends the request to http://b.com/searchstring?={whatever the user typed into the search bar} instead? Before the 9.7 update, I just used a child theme to replace the header: /parts/header/header-menu.php, but now with the new rules…apparently that doesn’t work anymore. I even tried making the changes in the Newspaper core files, but it wouldn’t take either. So I’m looking for a solution that wouldn’t break if there are Newspaper theme updates. Thanks!

Given the numerous problems the new update causes, how can I roll back the update? Thanks!

Your instructions state to install new version in WordPress first de-activate and delete old version. There is no option to de-activate delete as there used to be. So how can I remove the old version from WordPress Theme panel?

I use envato plugin to update, as you suggested on the given link since the beginning!
Also update the plugins afterwards.
I should seriously say that you should handle this problem seriously.
Lots of people struggle with it.
take attention guys!

After update to 9.7, how to create a custom single template for my post type? I can´t find custom types files.

Hi Catalin,

Thanks for your answer, that made me investigate a bit deeper. 🙂
I think I found the right place in the td-cloud-library plugin within the shortcode tdb_single_review_overall.php.

$buffy .= '<div class="td-review-final-score">' . round($this->calculate_total($post_review_data)) . ($post_review_data['review_meta'] == 'rate_percent' ? ' %' : '') . '</div>';

Now, I have to search a way to hook into this single line to be safe in case of future updates. Maybe you have a idea? 🙂

Cheers,
Chris

After the Update. I experience problems accessing the admin panel. So the only way to access the word press admin panel was to disable the tagDiv Composer plugin. once you reinstall the tagDiv Composer plugin I would bump into the same problem and the only way to access the admin panel was to use a different address. I follow the steps deleting and reinstalling the new theme but it didn’t work. Can you please help?

Ok Calin,

Please share the solution, as soon as you can. Because I just updated the theme but the color has changed on the newer version and I am not able to change it as the older one. It looks odd.

Thank you.

Hi there,

The Share buttons have disappeared after the last update!!! No changes in the Theme Panel prefs, but the buttons are no longer in my posts. Very annoying.

Same here.

Guys, you have a great theme but please stop doing updates without testing them properly.

Hi.

I did post this in reply to someone who had the exact same error message but for a different problem but I thought it might be a good idea to post separately.

I’m getting this error code but only on BuddyPress pages automatically created by BuddyPress – /Members, /Activity and /Groups etc. The error is …..

Warning: array_key_exists(): The first argument should be either a string or an integer in /home/oldpalud/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/init.php on line 31583

Everything is completely up to date. I updated via ftp, cleared caches etc. Turning wp_debug to true shows the same message.

I can’t work out what the problem might be. I tested on a staging site – same version of BuddyPress 4.20, Latest WordPress but only v 9.5 of Newspaper and the error is not showing.

There is also no error if I switch to WordPress 2019. So I think it is an issue with something in the theme after v 9.5.

Any assistance would be very much much appreciated. I have to get this resolved but I’m stumped.

Cheers!

PS – I very much appreciate the work you do.

by the way, literally every page has been messed up… they use wpbakery and the homepage only tagdiv and like I said I think things have changed also at the homepage without me doing anything after the update.

Please help

Dear Bogdan,

(second link)The reason you don’t see messed up content is because you don’t know how it looked first. This is TOTALLY wrong and ugly compared to how it was. Could you perhaps see how it was first somehow and then see the huge difference. This is not how I made this page with wpbakery.

(first link)This is the homepage and this also was completely messed up. I had to re-do it and still I think there are some things different than how it was first. When you scroll down you see the 3 facebook video’s next to each other with white space and that was not how it was first I think. Do you know/can tell how I can see how this page also was in the past before the update?

Please help…every time I update something I have to work hours to fix it because I’m not a developer or wp builder….

Hi Arul,

In that case, you should not make an overwrite to your old files sorry! You need to completely remove your old folder and add it the new one. You need to make a clean install from scratch to achieve good theme results. Please check the B section from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and strictly follow the steps from there if you want to achieve better theme results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you!

Hi @Catalin, I have already read the documentation and tested the latest updates on my staging site. There is a major issue with the mobile theme options where it does not show the responsive version of my website even though I have selected for it to only show the mobile version on AMP in the theme panel. This prevents me from going live with this update.

Hi,

If you want to add an Author element you need to add it with Td Composer when you edit your page. Regarding our update, we recommend the FTP method because this is the surest method in this case. Check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Thank you!

Hi,

After last update you can find this file in wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/single/single_template_8.php
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/k1LKixcP6

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
