Hi Catalin, I have updated the theme and now I see that functionality, I have selected “Header Template 20 – News Week”. So now I can edit the cloud template.

I also selected from the theme options to use that particular header template on all pages.

If I edit the header on any page template, the modification will be reflected on all pages, that’s confusing.. I think this header template needs to be edited only on the cloud templates section, this makes sense?

Another question, I have a difference on css on some URL’s and they are all using the same header, see please the space between the menu and the banners:
-on page templates there is some space between (http://temposdixital.gal)
-on archive templates there is no space, this is what I have set up, no padding or margin bottom (http://temposdixital.gal/categoria/destacadas/)

Thank you!

I updated the video so you can check it now.

Is there then anyway to delete the navigation menu and put a cathegory cloud on the mobile theme.

I thought that a simple menu would work either in regular version than in mobile, and only the content changes to a more plain and quick versión

Hello, I just performed the update and follow the steps correctly. My site was updated, however, all the pages looking the same as this image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4nlntkyxqyk7bzj/ts%20site%20error.PNG?dl=0

What happened?

Hi, I updated the theme, but when I activate tagDiv Cloud Library and Events Schedule – WordPress Events Calendar plugin (codecanyon plugin), post content is reapeated under post section if I use custom post template. This happens since you add auto Loading feature.
Do you know the reason why?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Unfortunately the child theme is only for theme itself, not for plugins theme, but there will add some more customization option for mobile theme in coming updates.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

That would be like a landing page if I’m not mistaken. The tagDiv composer has multi-purpose elements, so you can create a landing page with it – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-8-5-update-what-s-new/
The cloud library plugin will add even more elements in the composer list, when active. Be sure to check the cloud pages and sections, maybe you find something you like there
http://prntscr.com/n40a7l

If you don’t use the tagDiv composer, maybe some other users can suggest some plugins for this, I haven’t tried any unfortunately. Or search for some online guides and try the suggested plugins.

Thanks

Hello, and kudos for the mobile and AMP updates. Works great!
I would like to suggest a feature:-A possibility to switch to a BLACK version in the mobile theme. And even on the parallel AMP page.
When people are used to getting the black version on desktop, it would be nice to offer them the familiar colours when they log on via mobile as well. Maybe some stylesheet that can be added?
Thanks.

Hi,

After you make the update please check if theme plugins are active, usually tagDiv Composer will activate automatic but it needs to be checked, also if you are using cloud template update the tagDiv cloud library and activate it.

If there is still a problem, please provide some screenshots with the settings you are made for this.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi Calin,

I’ve finally update Newspaper to the last version (9.6.1), but I have same problem and same error.

I had created another topic some week ago… maybe these problems has the same reason.

Hey Calin,

This is extremely helpful. But with the latest release this is broken. Can you update it for 9.6.1?

Thanks,

Hi,

In some cases that effect may be visible, this is how CSS loads. First the default colors will be loaded, then the colors set in the theme panel or with custom CSS will be loaded, replacing them. Sometimes the transition between the colors is noticeable
http://prntscr.com/n3o9qx

The default color for that header is here – http://prntscr.com/n3oa9q you could remove that code or change it to how you want it there.
This custom code you are using – http://prntscr.com/n3obqv will also load after the theme stylesheet is loaded. You could try and enter custom code directly in the theme stylesheet for a faster load. These should fix the issues.

Another solution is to create your own header (blank template), or import one design by us and modify it if needed – http://prntscr.com/n3ocst
The cloud library plugin is needed for this, also theme version 9.5 and above
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
https://tagdiv.com/whats-new-in-newspaper-theme-9-5-update/
https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-customize-the-header-manager/
These don’t have predefined design as the default header styles, what you set in the composer will apply.

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

In order to prevent the theme to use the ajax filter for update view you’ll need to edit this file wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.js ccomment those lines
https://www.screencast.com/t/KVdv7l5PDHSp after that you need to mimify the javascript cod and set it in wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js ( replace that content with the new one )

Minify your JavaScript -> https://javascript-minifier.com/

Thank you!

Thanks for the response.

If there is a conflict, I already tested it, deactivated the cache etc.. , still doesn’t work. But since everything still works correctly, I’ll try it again with the next update.

Hi,

Those seems to be newsletter shortcodes, if the plugin is updated this should not happen. At the moment it seems to be alright – http://prntscr.com/n3m45q

That error when editing could appear in some cases – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-not-working/

If it’s still happening we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also include a link to this topic in the email. Let us know.

Thanks

Hi,

This was the developer decision, in this way they was able to set the “AMP” option to can set the AMP only on those pages/post you need.

Our mobile theme is in continue to evolve and I is very possible that in coming updates that option to be reintegrate in our mobile plugin.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

First if you are using the mobile theme you need to set for each page a new content with mobile editor https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se ( if you do not have any content in mobile editor then the page will be empty like yours ).
Let’s try to make a content for a mobile page togged, first set a content in mobile editor using only the mobile editor elements -> https://www.screencast.com/t/BPqBwYCpbDqa update the page and here are the results -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QFTi71JLkojW

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

That is true, when designing a cloud header template what you set in it for desktop will not appear on mobile. So you have to add elements when on mobile. So for example I have this content on desktop
http://prntscr.com/n3kwyw and this on mobile – http://prntscr.com/n3kx50
Both the desktop header content and the mobile content are loaded, it is just that when on desktop the mobile header is hidden, and when on mobile the desktop header is hidden. But the elements are still there and loaded, just hidden.

The purpose of the mobile theme is to simplify the mobile pages greatly, that is why with it active the results are noticeably better when testing with speed tools. Now it can also be used together with the AMP official plugin.
We will improve it’s current functionality in future updates. If it’s not active the same exact content and resources from desktop will be loaded on mobile, and now with the somewhat new Google algorithm when testing it will take into account each website visitors loading speed on mobile and provide a score based on this.

The issue with the background loading transition is known, we will find a solution for it. The quick fix for the moment would be to enter this code in the theme panel analytics section, enter it as the first code there (before all other codes you have entered)

<style>.td-element-style {
opacity:1!important;
}</style>

Flex blocks use one of these thumbnails – http://prntscr.com/n3l80s This allows greater flexibility by for example setting a custom height or width for the module. But it also means that the image may not be exactly as the module, like with predefined blocks.
However from what I can see the flex block in the homepage on your website isn’t using a theme created thumbnail, instead the original image is resized
http://prntscr.com/n3lb1r
I suggest that you regenerate the thumbnails so that they are created properly
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Also disable the jetpack image optimization module for images
https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/
Or begin by disabling this module first, and check if a thumbnail is loaded, before regenerating.

Thanks

Hi,

First please make a full backup to your website.
Using the envato market plugin this will set your website in maintenance mode until the update will be done, also all settings that are not made in theme files will remain ( Settings from theme panel, pages/posts ).
Yes after the theme is update you’ll need to update the theme plugins.

But using the envato plugin, you will update only the theme, you’ll not get all files and documentation for the Newspaper version you’ll update ( you can download those manually from your theme fores account, in this way you’ll have the theme package ).

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi @cobelfret,

Unfortunately for the moment the filter is not available for mega menu, maybe this will be implement in coming updates.

Thank you!

Shouldn’t be any, after entering it check if the post views have been updated, then remove the code. All the post will have the view count set in the code (you can change that as you wish).

By default you can only set a custom view count by editing each post and entering the value in the custom fields section, not all of them at once. But this code should do it.

Hi,

The modified date is a new option in latest them version that allow you to display each date you want on blocks, you can use this option, or use the old one with publish date.

Please check the settings from theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/H7CFzAKVw7 set the option with tagDiv Composer-> https://www.screencast.com/t/OAoAK9oUu make update on post -> https://www.screencast.com/t/vcQoLkQByxc now check the date of that post -> https://www.screencast.com/t/sKbLrp1jz also you can can sort after modified date -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VSePr63B

Also the modified date on post can be set with tagDiv Composer on single post template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/eYkeLqbCqV -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3qCSo9Nxtt

Hope this will help you!
Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately the video background option is only for desktop version for the moment, maybe in coming updates will be available on mobile version too ( what you see now on mobile is just a thumb, is not the video ).
Sorry for the inconvenience!
This can be seen on this demo as well: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_construction/

Thank you for your understandings!

I see. If I want to prevent the theme from using the td_ajax_update_views function, how would I do that?
