Hi, I am currently running version 9.0.1 and see there is a new version out – 9.1. I downloaded the updated theme and see there is a folder named patch_9.0.1_9.1.
Can you please provide some instructions on how to use this patch and update the theme please?
Thanks
First, thanks for this awesome theme. Could you please update the Theme to support woocommerce 3.5.0? I have updated to 3.5.0, now in the Woocommerce categories in the products, the images are not displayed Have a nice day.
Hi,
If you are looking for the head tags they are here – https://www.screencast.com/t/VHAJnaPo
Code entered in this theme panel section will also be loaded there (also it will not be lost after a theme update)
Thanks
Hi,
The changelog for the theme updates can be seen at the bottom of this page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331
For each update the modifications and new features are mentioned.
There will be some differences but nothing major in terms of layout. It is always recommended to update both WordPress and theme when updates are available.
You could make a full backup to begin with, by a method of your choice. Then update the theme and the theme plugins you use (like Visual composer, social counter etc).
After you update the tagDiv composer plugin (our page builder) will automatically be activated. This may cause problems with specific Visual composer (now called WPBakery page builder) elements, in that case deactivate the tagDiv composer from the plugins panel.
Remember that you can tell us if you have problems after you update, we will help you.
Thanks

Okay, i just realized the newest tags i created has been indexed by google.
Here is the screenshot from google’s images search result –> https://www.screencast.com/t/3ckzmIoj4V

This is getting weird. I know this forum is not a right place if we’re talking about general AMP, google and its bot, but this problem occurred since i use the tagDiv AMP’s plugin.
I hope you can make a clarification and an inspection would be very nice.
Thank you.
Hi,
I’m very glad you are come back.
Yes i already read about that before and i already read almost entire page one & two across the internet that talking about AMP and its googlebot.
sorry if it seems to cornering you, but i need you to clarify: does this issue occurred because there is something wrong with the amp plugin you provided? (noted: as i mention before: “usually, after i publish any post it will takes up to 2 hours for google to indexing the url [the fluctuation around 20 – 60 minutes]”)
also i have a new question:
regarding to your suggestion, if you feel it seems about googlebot and its amp, then why do the non-amp version still not indexed yet? (please noted the bold text above and please noted: my blog is about hobby and that kind of hobby got a lot of news updates. I frequently got a lot of traffic spikes from organic traffic because of its news updates).
Thank you.
Hi,
A child theme is useful if you plan to make code modifications to the theme files, or add code or CSS to it for example.
Note that CSS can also be added in the theme panel code sections, it will not be lost if the theme is updated.
1. The files that can be modified in a child theme are mentioned in the guide. If you have code to add you can which has to be entered in the functions file, add it in the child theme functions file, instead of the main theme.
If you want to add CSS in the child theme add it in the stylesheet provided with it. Then this CSS will be loaded together with the parent theme CSS.
Don’t make any modification to the code existing in the child theme functions file or stylesheet, no need for that.
2. Should be the same date for the whole website, it’s unusual that there are differences between posts and pages.
You could maybe edit the po file of the language with a po editor. The language files should be in wp-content/languages in WordPress files. Check how the months are translated.
You need to use a plugin for this and paste your shortcode wherever you want to display the “Last Updated on:”
Hello
I am using child theme that came with version 8. If I update theme to V9 what do I have to do with the child theme, how do I update Child theme to V9 as well.
Thank you
Is there a way to change out the default post ‘created’ date with an ‘updated’ date? I was able to do this with other themes using the wordpress code for it. But can’t figure out how to do this (or where) in Newspaper.
For a theme named after a “Newspaper”, this is common on news websites to have an ‘updated’ date…because news gets updated! 😉
Thanks for any assistance!
Could be something else, but tonight I solved several problems that started happening after TD Composer update by increasing server resources. Try raising max_input_vars and WP_MEMORY_LIMIT and see if that helps. Worked for me.
Maybe not related to your issue but tonight I solved a major headache with TD Composer update and various weird stuff that started happening. It turned out that server resources that were enough before are not enough anymore. Probably not much of a difference, but still. I cranked up max_input_vars and WP_MEMORY_LIMIT and that did it.
This is pretty disappointing, and such a good theme appears troublesome because it randomly breaks due to the plugins getting deactivated. Perhaps a close look on why it is happening and a patch update is required.
Hey guys, just updated to 9.1 and my logo shrank into oblivion – https://kidzu.co/
It’s normal sized if I choose a middle point header for the logo, but top left is crazy small. Any ideas/suggestions?
how about letting me update the latest version of visual composer
As it normally happens I figured it out minutes after posting here… but here goes for those that may stumble the same way.
It seems that server resources that were fine for earlier version of TD Composer are not enough for the new one. My minimal configuration (as it is a test site) has had no problems until now.
If you update TD Composer and it starts acting up, give it a little more room to breathe if you can. Specifically, I’ve increased max_input_vars and WP memory limit. Don’t know which one fixed it.
Sorry for troubling you guys.
Hi,
sorry for my english.
I have updated the newspaper theme to the latest version (9.1), but I have problems installing and activating the TagDiv Composer Plugin. After updating the theme, I tried to activate the TagDiv plugin, but I received an alert saying that “the plug-in is disabled because it is not compatible with this version of newspaper”.
I’m suggested to update TagDiv, but even following the update procedure, which ends with a positive result (the plugin is updated successfully), I go back to the plugin panel and TagDiv always results as a necessary update, so it is not actually updated after the procedure.
I have tried both the automatic and the manual procedure but, in both cases, the problem persists.
How can I solve?
Thank you
I have just updated my test site (fortunately not the live one) to 9.1 and new TD Composer wrecked a few things.
When TD Composer is active (new version, built 12.10.), saving options in the Theme Panel doesn’t work. The “busy” indicator just keeps spinning and nothing happens.
Also, activated TD Composer gives some very strange behaviour in the plugins area. For example, when I try to delete some other plugin by clicking the link on the Plugins page, WP throws a weird error on top of page and doesn’t do anything. When TD Composer is disabled, everything works.
I went through the usual checklist (disabling cache, all other plugins, reuploading everything from scratch…), nothing helped.
Please advise.
I updated my site theme in wordpress, now I am seeing RAW HTML code everywhere.
I’m speaking about this problem: https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609/comments?page=666&filter=all#comment_18588378
Here is a screenshot of a search engine results page:

I’ve found some kind of solution here: https://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331/comments?page=191&filter=all#comment_19710460
But it means, that after tagdiv composer update, I will need to edit the file manualy again. Is there any other way to do it?
Hi,
Please read this topics:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/linkedin-does-not-show-image/
Also you can make a backup to your website and make an update to the theme.
Thank you.
Hi,
You seem to be using the Newsmag theme, use the social counter plugin from it’s package at the time
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-whats-included/
There is a check made when you install a theme plugin, if the plugin does not belong to the theme version you currently have installed it will not work.
So if you try to install the social counter from a newer or latest theme package while using an older theme version, there will be a message.
You should consider to update the theme, make a full backup before so you can revert to it if there are problems. If you follow the guide there should be no problems however
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/
If there are problems let us know and we will try to help you.
Thanks
OK It will do that. where can I get an updated version of the plugin WPbakery?
Thanks for you assistance
Hi Catalin,
I’ve done this but now see:
tagDiv Social Counter – This plugin requires Newsmag v4.4 but the current installed version is Newsmag v3.3.1.
I’m worried that if I update everything to v4.4 it will break a lot of the site.
Do I have an alternative?
David
Hi,
Unfortunately on update you need to set the code again, this is for the moment the only way, unfortunately isn’t working with child.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you for your understanding.
