1) There is a list of plugins listed on the Newsletter theme panel:
WP Super Cache – caching plugin
Contact form 7 – used to make contact forms
bbPress – forum plugin
BuddyPress – social network plugin
WPML – The WordPress Multilingual Plugin
Jetpack – plugin with lots of features *it may slow down your site
WooCommerce – eCommerce solution
WordPress (Yoast) SEO – SEO plugin
Simple Local Avatar – Change users avatars
GDPR Cookie Consent – GDPR compliance plugin
HubSpot All-In-One Marketing – Grow your email list, generate leads, and manage contacts
Do we really need these to install?
2) Please advise for using the following with Newsletter theme that must be Full Featured and FREE to use:
Cache Plugin AND/OR CloudFlare
Form Creation Plugin
Multilingual Plugin
GDPR and Cookie Consent (there are multiple Privacy Regulations across globe)
Marketing AND/OR Newsletter AND/OR Plugin for Affiliates and Adsense
3) Google Site Kit would be helpful with Newsletter theme?
4) Do we really need Akismet plugin with Newsletter theme?
5) What exactly is “frontend submission form”? What’s the use and do we need it if we use any Form plugin suggested by you in reply of the above queries?
Hello!
1. No.
2. The recommended and tested plugins with the theme are the ones you mentioned above at point 1.
For cache, you can use Wp Super Cache. If you are using Cloudflare, please ensure it is set as in our guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/; you need to disable the Rocket Loader.
You can use the contact form 7 plugin or build a form with the help of the Newspaper feature: https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-frontend-submission-form/
WPML for a multilingual plugin, or translation, you can use the simple plugin gTranslate.
For GDPR, there is a recommended plugin.
In the Newspaper theme we have a Newsletter plugin, Opt-in builder for subscription and you can simply add the ads and integrate them but there is not a plugin like a manager. Ad rotate plugin can be used for a manager or for creating ad groups to display on your website with the help of the Ad box shortcode from the tagdiv Composer.
3. Yes, you can use it if you want.
4. No, you can uninstall it.
5. Yes. It is helpful for more customization options.
Thank you!
1) Which is free and better with Newsletter theme – Wp Super Cache or Wp Rocket or Cloudflare or any other?
2) Any free plugin that supports form submission to database instead of emails. Contact form and wpform connects to email.
3) Please recommend a free plugin for GDPR as the name given in the theme suggestion list shows many plugins but not with the exact name.
4) The wp rotate is being used by only 30,000 users. There are other options:
Ad Inserter – Ad Manager & AdSense Ads
Advanced Ads – Ad Manager & AdSense
Really getting confused here. Or would you recommend using Adsense and Affiliate links without these plugins?
Tried installing the OMGF plugin. It is for Google Font Optimization. Searched and found:
CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent
Complianz – GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent
Not sure if they work well with Newspaper theme and are free or not?
We tried searching for the plugin that is recommended in the Newspaper plugins page. We could not find the exact match. It shows different results.
Hello!
Yes. We have discussed this here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/does-the-newspaper-theme-comply-with-eus-gdpr-rules/
We did not test any other GDPR plugin currently available, but you can test anyone and use it.
Thank you for understanding!
1) The plugin mentioned in the forum link has been closed more than a year back. Searched many but all are paid. Few have free option but not sure how much they will work. If you come across any, please update.
2) There is a option in Newspaper theme as “My License”. There it shows option to Assign/UnAssign. What exactly is it?
3) We have installed them on the primary domain and then on sub-domain. Does is makes any difference where we install first?
4) On how many sub-domains can we install the Newspaper theme? We have installed on primary domain and 1 sub-domain. Is there any limit?
Hello!
1. Yes. We didn’t test any other free plugin. But I hope we will update it very soon.
2. From there, you can assign the key to your current domain by clicking assign.
3. No.
4. You can use a license key for one single product(website). For the other domains/sub-domains, please consider buying another license key. There are two places for a license: one for staging and the other for the live version of your product/sub-domain/website. If you want to move the theme to another website or change domain/migrate, you’ll need to reset the license key from that website: https://www.screencast.com/t/Zt12bpyX and remove the theme (delete); in this way, the license will be available for the new website, and you can use the theme without any problems.
Thank you!
1) We have added a blank header and blank footer template from cloud library.
Now, when we try adding header logo, it adds. It saves. But when we view the homepage it shows blank.
2) Earlier it was showing three options to save – header, content, footer. It used to show success message for all three. Now it is showing just one save option and when we save it shows success message for content only.
3) There is a option to upload logo, favicon, and other logos in the Theme Panel. We have already done that.
Then we add Header Logo. There it shows option to upload the logo image. We uploaded again by choosing the previous uploaded logo image from the Media Library.
What is difference between Theme Panel logo options and Header Logo?
4) After saving, when we close, and then again edit with composer, the changes made are gone. Why is this happening?
5) Primary and sub-domain, both have the same issue. Both primary and sub-domain have separate wordpress installation, database, ftp access. That means the problem is common to the theme.
Hello!
1. If you have the latest theme update, there is a problem with the save button.
2. Yes. I hope we can fix it as soon as possible.
3. The theme panel settings work with the default templates. The logo shortcode from the tagdiv Composer takes the logo from the theme panel settings but provides more customization options.
4. Check point 1.
5. Yes, check point 1.
Thank you!
For #3, the Header logo in composer takes the logo from Theme panel. So, do need to upload again in the composer or not? As it gives the option to upload.
Yes, the problem started when we upgraded. By when can we expect the solution as we just started the final design of the website and this update happened.
We already have the logo uploaded in the Theme panel but it is not showing. It not even showing the text logo.
Reverting the update won’t create junk database records, I guess? Is it advisable that we revert and then again upgrade later on a live website?
Hello!
Yes, of course, because you can not save the header template now, and the settings from the Header logo overwrite the theme panel options. To display the logo from the theme panel, you shouldn’t have any SVG set to show, image or text added in the header logo shortcode.
Thank you!

Hello!
No, it shouldn’t. Yes, you can revert and update at any time. Also, you can test everything on a staging site: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/.
Thank you!
Thank you Bettina.
In the composer we found two elements:
Extra CSS
Extended Shortcodes
What is the use of these and how to use them?
Hello!
Can you please provide a screenshot with those elements?
Add a new page, name it, and save and edit it with the tagDiv Composer. That is your page template, and you can customize it in the builder. However, you can not make it global like the other templates.
A single post template can be assigned to an article. More info here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/
