Please enable also post views from Theme Panel > Post Settings: http://screencast.com/t/B3sGHo3bLD4G edit a post and take a look at custom fields: http://screencast.com/t/RgEE9VjJf If those values changes when the post is viewed then 7 day sort works properly. I think that you have this issue because you have disable post view: http://screencast.com/t/IUCTXss9Y

Newsmag is designed to work on desktop, tablet and mobile, also the megamenu works only on desktop and tablet screens. Even you hide mobile menu, the megamenu will not work properly on mobile view. You will need custom modifications for that, it’s not an easy task we cannot provide custom work at this time as we work on updates/development and support.

Unfortunately there is no option to do this only for mobile. Now I understand you use a block with load more pagination for news. All you can do is to set less articles to display when user push load more button: http://screencast.com/t/N26ahtyVDTCG this it will apply also on desktop screen) so on mobile screen after 5 posts will appear load more button and after the user will see sidebar.

Unfortunately theme doesn’t have an option to use a different sidebar on mobile view, but you can try to hide some blocks from the main content(if you refer to this) for mobile view so the sidebar will appear slightly above.
I don’t understand exactly what you mean with “to show 5-6 articles..” …. on sidebar or main content?
Please provide a link and screenshot to see what you want to hide on mobile screen.
