That is not a mistake, is default functionality for mobile theme. If the post have more categories, ex: Featured + another category, on mobile will be displayed the second category tag, not Featured: http://screencast.com/t/krYVDvaNwq

To change this functionality and generate random posts there are required some changes in theme’s core files. Edit front-page.php and add the indicated parameter in grids shortcode: http://screencast.com/t/badlcRLLzs

To install the theme you need to make sure that in wp-content/themes folder is not another folder which contains an older version of the theme. You can’t have two Newsmag folders in themes folder so yes you need to deleted the old install.

When you perform a search query the results will be only those posts which contain the exact query in their title or content. The author name is not taken into consideration when the query is made. This is default functionality of WordPress in this regard and the theme does not change it.

The theme was was tested only with google ad-sense ads and also banner ads. We didn’t tested other ad systems and we cant guarantee that they will work fine. Also the theme can’t control ad’s content, it only renders the code and if that code generate an output is displayed on the page.

Please make sure that you to a clean install for the theme and best ways is via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ Before that install process deactivate all plugins, except Visual; Composer, and after the install is complete clear the caches and reset the cdn if you’re using.

The issue is most likely related with new version of WordPress and to fix it are required some changes in wp-core files. Usually those issues are fixed by wp’s developers and for the moment we need to wait for the next update.

Photo Box plugin is not tested and we can’t say how will work with our theme. We didn’t receive a similar report so far and also I can’t point a solution as I am not aware of plugin’s functionality. Most likely there is a css or js conflict which affect/breaks theme’s functionality.
