Good morning. I understand you’ve been working on my site, but the same problem remains. The frontpage hispanicla.com is corrupted and shows the same image that came with the message “There Has Been a Critical Error on Your Website”. The rest of the site works.
On Thursday morning I got this email:
“Hi,
The site now looks ok, the plugins can be activated back. However, I saw that there is still some problem, but I think you want the website to be ok over the weekend.
Thank you!”
Since then I emailed several times and did not get any answer.
Please acknowledge. Thank you,
G

Sorry, I got more information from the tech from Kinsta:

“I can confirm the issue is with the plugin td-composer indeed:
2023/02/08 06:01:01 [error] 28518#28518: *19634 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: explode(): Argument #3 ($limit) must be of type int, string given in /www/hispanicla_815/public/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/common/wp_booster/td_util.php:2155

I also have access to the whole error log and can copy it for you here. Would that help?

Thank you. The theme’s version is 12.2 and Kinsta comes with 256 memory as default.

Working with Kinsta they downgraded PHP from 8.0 to 7.4 and the site is now working.
It seems (they say) that the theme is not compatible with 8.0 yet.
But they will discontinue 7.4 in 3-4 months.

I have already deactivated, erased and reinstalled Composer and erased the cache, with no results.

But I also got an automatic email from WordPress pointing at the plugin RankMath, with a long code in the message.
I forwarded it to RankMath and sent them username and pass as administrators as they requested. I am waiting for an answer and will update you if it does not work in the next few hours and send you administrator credentials as requested.
I also sent you an email.
Thank you,
Gabriel

Thank you, Betina. What are the errors you refer to?

Thank you. I will divide this per topic.
In Theme Panel -> Post Settings -> Sharing -> One can enable or disable
the “top article like”. I find it very useful
But this doesn’t exist in the Mobile theme. There is no “like” button in the posts.
The result is that only those visitors that are on desktop
can react, rendering a very partial picture.
If you go to https://hispanicla.com/la-nina-salvaje-de-california-28462 on a desktop you will see the “like” button below the image. If you instead use your cell, below the image are only the social media buttons. What I am asking is to make possible to add the “like” button in the mobile theme.
Best,
G

Thank you for the quick reply, Bettina. As always.
I got what you write about the Mobile theme. My questions were, in the Mobile theme, is it possible to change settings like font or style? Specifically, for the subtitle?
My second question was, in the Mobile theme, is it possible to add the “Like” box?
Thanks again,
G

For what it is worth, and since the mobile theme design is minimalist, I replaced that unnecessary text with a guide to some (popular) categories, with links:

Opinión / Poesía / Coronavirus

I fixed it, but I don’t really know what I did… I just updated each category.

Thank you, Bettina. You wrote “it seems all distorts because you deactivated all plugins.” But at the time of your response there were 23 plugins activated. That is not the reason
“it seems all distorted”. There is a problem besides that, maybe something I did wrong with the M template for mobile. Or with the CSS. Also, I already updated to the most recent version, 11.1, including the plugins. Please help, thank you.

Hello. Still, the site is broken on mobile. Haven’t got no answer yet. Thanks.
I also deactivated all plugins with no results.

(sorry for this addition) as for your question if the td plugins are updated, I do not know where the latest versions are or how to check what version I am using, especially regarding standard pack.

Thank you, Vlad. As for the plugins you ask, I am using tagdiv Composer, tagdiv Cloud Library, tagdiv Social Counter – which I deactivated and activated again now – and tagdiv Standard Pack.
I stopped using tagdiv Mobile theme plugin and instead use a mobile only template. I don’t use anymore Official AMP for WP and Tagdiv newsletter.
I must also say that to complicate matters the site breaks in mobile in ways I don’t understand of find the logic of.
On top of that I initially updated to WP 5.8 and Newspaper 11.1 but then downgraded to 5.7 and 11.
Hope this answers your question.

Thank you, Vlad. I always do that, using hispanicla.com/?nocache=1
Still, the big white space appears not in the desktop but in mobile.

Thank you, Bettina. I’ve found another plugin, External Links – nofollow, noopener & new window, which does work with our theme.

Hispanic L.A.

Thank you, Vlad. I still do not see the header area active, and pointed to the fact that the headers in all the posts are in the content area, not in the header area. What did I miss? Thanks again.

Hispanic L.A.

Thank you for your reply, Bettina. Exactly. I am talking about links in the content. External links, that point to another site. And that open in a new tab (or window).
I was pointing to the claim by the plugin’s author that it does not work with Newspaper for technical reasons I copied for you and that I do not understand.
And I know I can do this manually, one by one. But I want it to be automatic and especially, convert all the external links in all the 3000 posts to open in a new tab.
Hope now it is clear.
Thank you
G

Thank you, Ana María. I now understand that there are three areas and yes, I set the header section in “page content”. But a. All the posts also have the header in the page content, and b. I do not see the Header area in the page, so I cannot move the header section to the header area.
Please clarify, thank you,
Gabriel
