I have this problem too. I am on Newspaper 12.7.7. Can you help me as well?

marijn390

I think it has already been resolved. The The theme global lightbox option was not disabled. After turning it off, it works correctly.

Hi Calin,

I’ve since solved the problem myself. I changed the featured image size from the default (696×0) to 1068×580. This immediately resulted in a sharper image. However, I could literally see the difference. We use 1920×1080 images by default, but if you set them to the default size, they become grainy and blurry.

One other thing: in the documentation, I see that if you want to use the TagDiv slide gallery, you have to insert it via the classic editor. I find this very convenient, and I’d like to see (and many others agree) that the slide gallery is also available when using Gutenberg. Could you implement this in an update?

Hi Bettina,

Since then, I’ve been uploading all images in 1920×1080 resolution, but the quality is still poor, even though the images are fully visible when you click on them and the lightbox opens.

Do you have any further suggestions?

Hi Anamaria,

I already have the related section that you show in the screenshot on the website at the moment. These articles are matched based on tags/categories. However, this is not desirable because we use the tags and categories for multiple news items that have nothing to do with each other.

So I am actually looking for a way where I can link an article myself in a related articles section. Otherwise we have to create a tag for each topic and attach it to the flex block via TD Composer. I hope you understand me, it is difficult to explain.

Hi Anamaria,

Thanks for the reply. How can editors link articles here without going to the TD composer? Our editors only write and don’t know anything about technical stuff. I want them to be able to do everything from Gutenberg in the post editor.

Hi Bettina,

This is about a header image but I am talking about the featured image of a post. If I turn on the option as described in the other topic, I get a different layout of the website with more space and that is not the intention.

Hi,

I have single post date here. So this doesn’t seem to be the problem? See here a screenshot: https://ibb.co/C5BShv6

Hi,

Yes for posts I use the single post template 1.

marijn390

Hi Anamaria,

I am using the default header and not a cloud template so I cannot customize these options.

A similar option is not available in the Theme panel.

marijn390

So it is very difficult to get this custom done. That is why it seems to me a nice addition to add this as an option in the theme panel. People who, like me, do not use it can turn off these annoying boxes. This way you create that people have more control over what they do and do not want to use.

Can you submit this to the development team?

Hi Anamaria,

Are there instructions on how I can do the seat myself? Because we are volunteers, there is no income to pay for custom work.

Hi Anamaria,

Sorry for my late response. When I do it via inline text, it eventually works but I don’t get the same font and color etc.

A direct option ‘Additional text’ for ‘Single Post Date’ would be much easier. Moreover, it would be uniform with the options of the ‘Single Post Modified Date’. That way you equalize everything. Now you have to use this option for one and another option for the other.

I would like to see this option become available after all. This would make it much easier to add this additional text anyway.

marijn390

Hi Anamaria,

I discovered that I do not have the option to add Additional text for ‘Single Post Date’. I do have this for the ‘Single Post Modified Date’.

Can you also add this for the Single Post Date? For example, I can place ‘Added:’ by the date.

marijn390

Hi,

No, I looked at the changelogs last month but didn’t say anything. This is exactly what I mean, great that it’s in there now! I can now also specify the time myself and not just the date.

I’m very happy with it, thank you!

Hi Anamaria,

Has this functionality been added yet? Recently in the latest version you added the option to custom format the date at Single Post Date. It seems to me a piece of cake to implement custom Single Post Modified Date.

I really need this functionality. I was very happy with the possibility to add custom date at Single Post Date but I really miss the option at Single Post Modified Date.

marijn390

Hi Anamaria,

Yes I know but I want to use the custom format for the modified date.
Now I can only use the custom format for the publish date..

Bettina,

I think it’s a bug because if I don’t set the header/footer font to default, I don’t have the problem.

So as soon as I set the font for header/footer to default and I go to the post page, I have the problem. The problem does not occur on normal pages.

Can you look into this further?

Hi Bettina,

The option for Rocket Loader is disabled.
Do you have other options?

marijn390

Hi Bettina,

Yes we use Cloudflare for Ddoss and caching but in the cloudflare plugin I deleted already the cache.

The problem has not been around for very long and we already had cloudflare for this.

marijn390

Hi Bettina,

Yes I use the global header and folter for the whole site.

How can I check of is not a cache issue? I deleted all cache and the problem is still there.

marijn390

The option to get this arranged is in Adsense itself and is called ‘Let Google optimize the size of your mobile ads’. If you turn this off, you will simply get the formats you specified in Theme panel.

The option can be found in Adsense under Ads > General settings

Hi,

Yes, I also use auto ads in addition to the standard ads. I have already removed the auto ads completely but the problem still persists.

I have deactivated all non tagdiv plugins and cleared my browser cache on my phone. Unfortunately, this still hasn’t helped.

That’s why I will send an email to you with the details.

marijn390

Even after clearing the browser cache, the problem still occurs.

I’d like the dash to look the same as it did in the Gutenberg editor
