I do hope locker control by category can be instituted soon. Locking individual articles is time consuming and inflexible – any adjustments mean opening individual posts and when you have 7000+ posts that’s a lot of work.
Anyway, hoping, as the locker has an attractive design compared to some.

Ah – ok. I wondered why it was still working, opening in new tab, with no visible confirmation. Yes, I have WP 7.0. I’ll leave it that you will investigate and look forward to fix if possible – thanks.
That’s useful, Calin – didn’t know that Post Settings could be moved. But my width problem is solved, thanks to your plugins suggestion. I had installed Fluent Forms Block – now deleted and all is good!
Still good to see image so I can see we’re talking about the same thing. And it looks as if we are. Rather than meddle with the code, I might live with it for a while. But to be clear, is this a WP or theme change? I notice now also that Post Settings once again appears at the bottom of the editor on scrolling, which I like. I didn’t like having to deal with a separate panel for this, which made the page vertically cramped. It’s strange how WP moves forward and reverts simultaneously.
Thanks, Calin – however, as I’ve said before, your imgur.com screengrabs now appear to be restricted in the UK. I get message “content not viewable in your region”.
I see now the problem, for your info: I added the caption to the image in Media library after I had placed the image in the Single Post Content. Evidently, the image will not pick up the caption in these circumstances but only reflect what is in the media library at the time the image is placed. You might want to fix this, so the image always reflects any changes made in Media library.
Thanks
MG
Now, strangely, the caption is appearing in https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2026/01/24/jj-01-66-owning-up/
after I removed the photo from post and then replaced it again, with no other changes. It appears to be some glitch, then.
Thanks
MG
For both posts given above (one showing, one not showing caption) I have checked wp-admin and media library in both cases and the settings and preferences seem to me to be identical.
Thanks – I don’t know what you mean by “check the image caption settings and compare them with how the image appears on the article page. It’s possible that one image is configured using Gutenberg with different settings than the other.”
The caption is placed in WordPress as always, in both examples I give. Can you take a look at the WordPress admin page to see this, in each case?
It seems that either you haven’t read what I said or have misunderstood it. Yes, this is a featured image, but placed within Single Post Content. There is no featured image element in the template.
If you actually look at the page, you will see this: https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2026/01/24/jj-01-66-owning-up/?
The mystery is that such a featured image appears perfectly well in previous articles using the SAME TEMPLATE, such as this:
https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2025/12/27/reviewed-sun-ra-and-his-myth-science-arkestra-anne-paceo/
So the question, again, is why have captions stopped appearing in new articles using the same template?
Thanks
MG
Regarding your imgur, on clicking I see “Content not viewable in your region.”
Yes – did you fix it in 12.7.3? I noticed problem disappeared after updating yesterday.
I guessed that, obviously. I was alerting you to the fact I cannot view it. It says “Content is not viewable in your region”. So next time you send anyone an imgur image they may see the same message. Get it? Thanks, MG.
Ok – looks good now. By the way, I cannot see your imgur image. It says “content not available in your region.”
Thanks
Looks like someone (or something, like 12.7.2?) has turned on ““On / Off expand table of contents option” in template Single post TT JJ vertical (2). If so, the problem won’t be visible. I have turned it off again. Please now look at https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2025/09/08/reviewed-claire-ritter-danny-grissett-mark-solborg-tungemal/ and see that the TOC does not appear. I want it to appear permanently, without the [hide] option.
Hi Calin – please look at this page – https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2025/09/08/reviewed-claire-ritter-danny-grissett-mark-solborg-tungemal/
I have deselected “On / Off expand table of contents option”. In this state, as you can see, no TOC appears. As I said above, I can only get TOC if I select “On / Off expand table of contents option” but this gives the hide option which I don’t want. I want a permanent TOC. Can you fix this? It was working perfectly in 12.7.1 and before.
Thanks
MG
Now I wonder if I inadvertently duplicated SPC in one template, because in other templates it’s not duplicated. But the empty TOC problem is universal unless I tick “On / Off expand table of contents option”.
I see now that the cloud template has duplicated the Single Post Content (SPC) element below the original, so I hid the second SPC and the TOC to make the site look sensible. Then I tried ticking “On / Off expand table of contents option”. The TOC reappears but with the [hide] function I don’t want.
So currently, I am back to 12.7.2 with duplicated SPC hidden and hide TOC on. I want no duplication and TOC without the hide option, as before.
I’ve written to support on the same matter but the comments here are the most up to date.
Thanks
MG
I tried 12.7.1 and 12.7. The TOC reappears ok, but still the Single Post Content is duplicated. Not good!
Thanks – didn’t know that parameter existed.
Here is a page with the List problem – font not same as rest of page: https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2025/09/11/scarborough-jazz-festival-2025/
Hello – the WordPress controls for font size in the List editor are ineffective. So I tried entering
.tdb_category_description li {
font-size: 25px;
line-height: 2;
}
in Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Custom code -> Custom CSS
but it has no effect on my List font size.
How can I change List font size in Newspaper?
Thanks
Mark Gilbert
Thanks – but could you answer the question? “To reduce autoload options, is it ok (using plugin Advanced DB Cleaner) to turn off td_covid19_data autoload and save 35.49 KB? I don’t use Covid-19 data and the pandemic is long gone.”
To reduce autoload options, is it ok (using plugin Advanced DB Cleaner) to turn off td_covid19_data autoload and save 35.49 KB? I don’t use Covid-19 data and the pandemic is long gone.
Thanks

Wow – that’s very helpful, Simion. I didn’t know that field existed and zeroed the counts on my cloned posts in the database as advised in a Google AI search – a much longer process!
Many thanks
MG
