Ah, ok. Thanks for the explanation. Actually, I downloaded the blank template from the cloud and copied the content from the other site. Didn’t know that this would change the template itself, so to speak.
Wow, that was pretty well hidden. Please note, that I did not create this site. I am not familiar with the Newspaper theme. This is why even simple things are sometimes suprisingly time-consuming. Having said this, you pointed me in the wrong direction by saying it could be edited in the template. 🙂

Hi,
first of all: We don’t have an account connected, since we don’t want the Instagram section. The problem is not that it’s not working, but that it is there at all. 🙂
I could fix the error. This was indeed a shortcode in the footer template file. Since we don’t need it anymore, I completely removed the footer template from the child theme. The error is now gone. However, I can’t click or otherwise edit the Instagram part:

I can open the global template. However, I can’t click or remove this section.
I wish I could. After opening the page with the Composer, I get the following error:
“Error at zones: 6(models) : 5(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”
As I said in my previous post: No, I can’t download a template from the cloud library. This is why I asked how to create it manually. A blank template would be fine. I just don’t know where it is stored. Besides, I have no clue why the template wasn’t copied. But again, the customer did the migration.
I wish I could, but I got the following error:
Envato key is alright, but it is not assigned to the current domain. Just assign it and then you are ready to enjoy the full benefits.
I can’t assign this subdomain, since it is a temporary site for the relaunch.
I did not clone the site, the customer did it. Most of the theme settings etc. were migrated properly. It’s just this one single template that is missing. I would rather avoid a re-migration. Is it not possible to export/import just this one template?
Thank you!
Again, I did NOT (!) re-install anything. And yes, I know how to update a theme. I did it exactly like in your documentation. We use one global template for single posts. And very obviously that changed after the update.
But ok, that’s probably your idea of support for paying customers!
Again, we had this before. Yes, it DOES. This is the reason, why we don’t update more often. It is simply too much work.
Just explain to me HOW I would re-install the templates during the update. I don’t even know how. Let alone that I did it on purpose. Is there a checkbox or anything else to consider?
We had this topic before. I got the same answer, and of course it was the UPDATE that re-installed the ad banner. I did not re-import any templates. At least, I did not do this deliberately. I just updated the theme and the included plugins from the dashboard. I wouldn’t even know HOW to re-import the templates.
I was able to remove the banner. However, I would prefer to avoid this additional work. Why does the banner always re-appear?
That’s not the point. With the adblocker deactivated I can easily remove those ads. The problem was, that I couldn’t see any ads due to the adblocker doing its job.
You wrote: “The ad is not from us; there was another image.”. So, who would put an ad for the Newspaper theme in the template? My customer surely wouldn’t do that. Why do you claim that the image was not from you?
What I find even more upsetting: You claim that the update didn’t add the ads to the templates. So, why exactly did those ads appear right after running the update? Do you seriously claim that my customer or me created two Newspaper ads and put them in the global templates? Why would we do this?
Seriously? Well, who would upload images advertising for the Newspaper theme?

And who would link those images to your page on Themeforest:
https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Me?
Hi again,
after some further investigation I’ve just found out that my adblocker hides the TagDiv ads inside the template. Sorry, but this is NOT ok! It is bad enough that you put ads in the templates of paying customers. But at least make them 100% visible under all circumstances. Adblocker are pretty common today, arent’ they?
I have the same problem on the staging server. How would I fix it?
Hi,
don’t get me wrong, but is it best practice in your company to blame the customer or treat him like a child? I am responsible for maintenance, not for editing the content. I didn’t touch the template. I would know, wouldn’t I? Even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t know how to do it, since I don’t use this theme on any other site.
I will gladly check the database entries on the staging server and look for any changes that were made, if you tell me where to find the template in the database. I couldn’t find anything for the post id of the template.

Hi,
sorry, but I have to disagree. My cutomer told me immediately after the update: “Please remove the widget!” And he is working daily on this site. He would have noticed before, I guess. I didn’t import anything. I just ran the update and that’s it. Honestly, it took me some time to even find the template, let alone change anything.
Hi Anamaria,
you wrote via email:
I edited the template, and I deleted the code for that element.
Thank you very much, but I need to know HOW! The ad widget appeared after the update from 11 to 12, and we didn’t change the template. Obviously, the update added the ad. We would like to know, how we could fix this. For the next update, you know. 🙂
OK, the problem seems to be fixed. Could you please post the solution here? I still don’t know how to disable the ad widget.
Thanks!
Thanks, Anamaria!
It’s great to have this option. But honestly, you should be more careful with your ads on sites of paying customers. This is not a very polite thing to do, in my opinion. At least, put a button next to the banner, so that users can dismiss it easily. It doesn’t make customers happy, if they have to post in a support forum to get rid of it.
Yes, will do. Thank you.
Hi there,
I don’t use the block editor. There is no widget whatsoever that contains your ad:

Please, see my first screenshot: “VIP Partner” is the title of the first widget.
Hi,
thank you very much. I’m afraid, I don’t get it. 🙂 This site wasn’t pre-built. The ad reappeared after the update from V11 to V12, and we didn’t change anything. I can’t find this widget. It’s not in the default sidebar, nor is it in the global page template. At least, I can’t find it.

Hi Vlad,
I already did. However, it’s not a very good idea to keep all this information “hidden” from the public forum, in my humble opinion. I’m not the only one having these issues, I guess.
