Christopher is a long time WordPress user. Anything else you need to know is private ;-) I *do not* work for TagDiv, but I've been using their themes since late 2013.

I’m not having that issue.

Try checking your console (F12) to see if there is a conflicting javascript error which might be breaking the load of the ad units.

Guess you got it fixed – I just went to your website in latest Chrome/Win10. The ads all work.

Perhaps try clearing your history/cache in your copy of Chrome; make sure it’s updated to latest version.

Many large complex themes have one large CSS file for better caching, while some others break it down into 4-6 other files. One large file is better.

You can minify the CSS file very easily.

You might also see my long tutorial on site optimizations, in the theme docs > tutorials/DIY > best of forums.

In there I have links to how you can minify the main CSS file, and even the main JS file if you want.

With proper gzip/deflate running on your site, it will also be served as a very tiny file as gzip removes all the spaces anyway. But minification can easily be done.

Many theme devs don’t “start out” with minified version to make it easier for developers to EDIT/MODIFY the code, and read the comments; then those folks minify on “deploy” for a live site.

So, this is not that weird. All of the top 10 themes on ThemeForest have large amount of CSS — where do you think all those layouts and theme styles, features, options, etc. come from ? It’s all CSS.

Yes, see the theme docs. It shows you how to put in your own ads.

You just need to use HTML to create the three div sizes for responsive layouts, and each of those wraps your ad elements, whether locally hosted graphic, or external one.

Of course knowing the very very basic HTML helps, like an anchor tag (a) or image tag (img) will help.

Why not view the theme docs on how to speed up your site, and my long winded optimization thread?

See > theme docs (link right side page) > tutorials/DIY and “best of forum”

Pagespeed score of ’98’ is the best you can get with WordPress with any page containing images, and over 100kb total, by the way. Anything over 91 is very very good for desktop.

Anything over 88 mobile and 90 desktop is “in the zone.” Anything below 85 for both needs work.

They work for me. Be sure to see the support threads on WordPress.org and post any issues there.

Also here is some updated help for enabling a function hook for Google Analytics with the AMP plugin:

works fine for me πŸ™‚

Then that’s an issue with your WordPress setup and *not* the theme, as the theme does not manage that.

simchris
tagDiv Member

Weird.
When you create a user manually in the WP admin > users
does it send the proper email ?

simchris

So looks like that plugin is messing with it.
Try disabling the plugin, then test again to debug that.

You should disable pingbacks from the WP admin panel > settings, but also disable XML-RPC as security measure (you can’t disable if using Jetpack).

I use “regenerate thumbnails” plugin, also use “thumbnail upscale” to allow larger images for sliders, and other thing if bigger than uploaded image.

You can also try some of my tips and tricks in my tutorial/thread in the “best of forums” post under the DIY section in docs πŸ™‚

And of course worth noting, “don’t use pirated software…” πŸ™‚

simchris

FYI
I use thumbnail upscale as a ‘helper’ for WordPress as it fixes issue where WP turns off support for “enlarging” images such as for home page slider, etc. You can leave this active all the time.

I use “Regenerate Thumbnails” and works great on all my sites/server.

Some people use “Force Regenerate” if the regular one doesn’t work.

You can turn off the regen plugin(s) until you need them. Even remove them entirely after the initial run πŸ™‚

Since andrei doesnt like my atitude, maybe your ideas might help him. ?

simchris

Might be from all the console errors being generated by your home page (F12 in chrome), but maybe not.

simchris
tagDiv Member

Does this work with default theme?

Not sure this is theme specific, but more WordPress specific ?

simchris
tagDiv Member

Link to a sample post where there is the issue ?

Are you using the latest version of theme? (What version are you using ?)

Did you try disabling all plugins except Visual Composer?

Any ‘errors’ on your post when checking with console view (F12 on Chrome/Edge) ?

Allow some time for TagDiv to reply, as they often have to deal with a lot of things here unrelated to theme like “where do I edit menu,” or “how do I login to my account…” πŸ˜‰

simchris

Did you increase the default memory for WP — it’s really needed for using Visual Composer. So, you need to increase memory to something like 96M vs default 40M if not done already.

Be sure to check the AMP docs, as a number of hooks/filters *changed” in 0.3.1 — so any tutorials written first week of Feb. with v.0.2 might no longer work. But good link πŸ™‚

UPDATES 2/25:

WINDOWS SERVERS/BLANK PAGES:
They have found potential issue with some folks having blank AMP page, due to Windows vs Unix/Linux.

CLOUDFLARE:
If you are using the Cloudflare plugin for WordPress, turn off the “HTTPS Protocol Rewriting” setting in the Cloudflare plugin. That fixed it for at least one person from feedback in the support forum.

LOL πŸ™‚
Well, I have several “pro” websites using the theme, for almost 2.5 years now.

But your mileage may vary based on your own abilities, skill and if you RTFM.

I think you need to contact ThemeForest re refunds, so see your account there.

(note – I don’t work here.)

As a note for all reading this….

AMP is initially intended to help speed up loading of NEWS sites/content/posts; and not strictly intended for corporate sites based on “pages” … or ecommerce/shops.

Reason for this is that many more people read a news item each day than visit your staff bio page, from diverse locations and browsers. AMP puts a lot of the heavy lifting on the cloud/browser side so that what loads from site is as little as possible and has some of the features of mod_pagespeed and http/2 baked in among many other optimizations as well as optimizations for https.

Many of the “complaints” about AMP right now are “waaah, why don’t pages work with AMP — you suck!!” — which is ridiculous.

Point being, if you have a busy news site, it’s worth buying into. If you have a corporate site about your law firm, or an ecommerce site selling bunny t-shirts, not so much. πŸ™‚

Hi, sorry no idea how to get the related posts from theme to work with AMP.

You will need to trial/error that one on your own, I’m afraid.

I use a much simpler text-only related post plugin that caches the results with the post and I can set the “back in time” amount for the related items; so this “prints” very well with AMP as it’s just an un-ordered list, with no images or formatting classes.

If you want to disable the theme related posts, and use the plugin I use for our newswire portals — which does work with AMP, at least the way I use it (text only), you can play with this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/contextual-related-posts/

You need to update visual composer, and speed booster plugin if using then when updating theme, usually. Might not be your issue, but worth a try. Update via ftp.
