Hi,
When is that error displayed? I have checked your website but can’t see it at the moment, desktop or mobile. Is the tagDiv composer active when it happens?
Thanks
Hi,
That is possible, thought it would be like installing a new theme almost. There were many changes in the theme since version 7, the changelog can be seen at the bottom of this page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Also check out this article – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Maybe it would be better to test this in a development install or copy of the website, instead of the live website, if possible. This would be safer. There are plugins that can duplicate the website, or clone it (like the duplicator plugin). Then update there first, to see the results.
This would be better than trying it on the live website, I believe it is worth considering
– https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-clone-a-wordpress-site-in-7-easy-steps/
Here is an update guide as well – https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
If you have more questions let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
That is not possible anymore from what I know, it will not work same as before. Google made changes so that the related videos cannot be disabled anymore
– http://prntscr.com/nqw3mp
I don’t think this is possible to do after those changes.
Thanks
Hi,
A lightbox effect is possible for images inside the post content
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/modal-window/
You can check it out in this demo post for example
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wordpress-news-magazine-charts-the-most-fashionable-new-york-couples-in-2016/
If you have more questions let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
Does that happen if you choose a different sidebar? For example one with some simple elements in it, like a theme block. In some cases such issues are caused by content entered in the sidebar, like invalid custom code or ad codes, with HTML tags not closed.
If the problem remains, we could take a look at it. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login. Mention the category page where this is happening so we can investigate why this happens.
Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
The category page pagination will most likely break if you use a “.” as the base
– https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17798815/remove-category-tag-base-from-wordpress-url-without-a-plugin
Maybe consider using the Yoast SEO plugin which has a setting to remove the category base
– http://prntscr.com/nqvvcs
Or try a different plugin or solution from the one you currently use.
Thanks
Hi,
1/2. So the content you entered in the page and also the footer section have disappeared? If you edit the page with the composer are the missing blocks there? Does this happen only for the page in question? if possible post a link to the page in question here, so I can take a look.
These issues are quite unusual, we can take a look here, or for a closer look send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also provide links to the pages with the problem. Include a link to this topic in the email.
3. I have seen this before, could be an issue with the loading of the theme font which handles the icons – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/hi-all-icons-social-media-search-icons-etc/
Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
At the moment that is not possible with custom icons (with theme settings), it is possible with Font awesome icons however – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-add-icons-in-menu/
Maybe it is possible using plugins or other means, we haven’t tried such plugins or implementations unfortunately – https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-image-icons-with-navigation-menus-in-wordpress/
Thanks
Hi,
I could take a look to see if there is anything wrong with the header, please post a link to the website where the issue is happening.
Thanks
Hi,
That is correct, there were changes to most of the theme file location after update 9.7, they are now in the tagDiv composer plugin. There is an article about it here
– https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So now the loop files are here – http://prntscr.com/nqu4yj and only the default post template file remained in the theme – http://prntscr.com/nqu6ke
The ones from the plugin can’t be modified in a child theme same as before, the child theme is now quite limited and only a few files can still be modified in it. So they would have to be modified directly.
What kind of code were you using? maybe there is a different way of doing it.
Thanks
Hi,
That would be possible. If you use cloud templates you can choose what is displayed in them. So for example if you have a few posts in which you don’t want ads, use a cloud post template for them – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Cloud post templates won’t display the article ads entered in the theme panel, they will display ads entered in the template itself – http://prntscr.com/nqtr50 so if no ads are entered there, the post content will have no ads.
Cloud templates can be used for almost if not everything: header, posts, categories, author pages, archives etc.
Or you could use the Adrotate plugin, I believe with it you can control where the ads are displayed. Some info about the plugin here
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-manage-ads-in-wordpress-with-adrotate-plugin/
Thanks
Hi,
Some examples of what you would like to do would be very helpful. Please let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
@giovanni114 That is a different header style. For the website you provided try something like this – http://prntscr.com/nqtlpz
@media (min-width: 767px) {
.td-book-club-demo .td-header-sp-logo {
padding-top: 0;
padding-bottom: 0;
}}
Thanks
Hi,
After the 9.7 update many of the theme files were moved in the tagDiv composer, due to the new Envato theme requirements. There is an article about it here
– https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So the child theme is quite limited now when it comes to theme file customization. Only a few files can still be modified in it.
The parts folder is now in the composer plugin, the file you are looking for is in it
– http://prntscr.com/nqtgbg so a child theme won’t be an option anymore to modify this file. Only if you modify it directly in the plugin.
I can’t say if this current functionality will change in the future, remains to be seen. If we will find a viable solution for a safer method to still be able to modify the theme files that were moved, we will present it.
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe try something like this – https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41343493/zoom-out-whole-wordpress-site and modify the values in the code if needed. The code can be entered in the theme panel, or child theme stylesheet.
I will make some tests with the speed booster plugin, to see if there are any problems when it is active. If you can provide some more details about what is happening in your case, it would be very helpful. Please let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
An example would be helpful if possible, or even better a link to where it is happening, so I can see what is happening exactly. Let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
A link to the website would be helpful, so I can see the problem. Please post a link if possible, so I can take a look at the problem on mobile. Let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
Seems the link is not pointing in the proper place for some reason. It should lead to this page I believe – https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/1346295?hl=en&ref_topic=1271508
The mention is here – http://prntscr.com/nqsgwb
I will make a note of it and it will be fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks
Hi,
It is always best to try and update the theme, plugins and WordPress as soon as possible, when updates are available.
You can update to the latest version normally, the best way would be by FTP
– https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
The changelog for each version can be seen at the bottom of this page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
The 9.7 update consists of some changes to the theme files location, an article about the modifications here – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
If the website is stable and working, maybe consider for example to create a testing install on a sub-domain if possible, or locally, with a copy of the current website. There are plugins that can duplicate the website, or clone it (like the duplicator plugin). Then update there first, to see the results.
This would be better than trying it on the live website, I believe it is worth considering

Hi,
Depends on what exactly are you referring to, what kind of work. The most important changes after the 9.7 update is that many of the theme files were moved in the tagDiv composer plugin – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/ (there are update guides mentioned in the article).
Due to these changes now the tagDiv composer has to be active in order for the theme to function same as before. Also the child theme functionality is now limited to just a few files that remained in the theme folder and can be modified through it. If you have more questions let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
Seems to be related to the general smart list file. Did you maybe make any modifications to the td_smart_list.php file? If not, is the wp-debug set to false as mentioned here
– https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
Also what PHP version are you using? try if possible to use PHP 7, 7.1 or 7.2. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
I don’t understand unfortunately. The social counter is supposed to display a counter, like the fan number for Facebook, subscribers for YouTube etc. But for Google play I can’t say I know what it should display, what values. Let me know, and I will make a note of it.
Thanks
Hi,
There are a few cases when that error can appear. If the problem is happening even for a new page, in most cases such an issue is caused by plugins
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-not-working/
You could try as a quick test to deactivate all non-theme plugins and check if the problem is solved.
In case you already tried that and it is still happening, we could take a closer look. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide us admin login so we can login and investigate. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks

You could modify it there is this is required, this would be the only way.

That may be complicated to do, you could give it a try if you know what you are doing. I believe here is where each category gets it’s type of category grid from the theme panel
– http://prntscr.com/npshvu
Maybe a condition could be added there, I haven’t tried something like this however. Note that the modification will be lost after a theme update, when the them files are replaced.
